Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!
And I just got screwed out of the players I traded for, everyone rejected my offer.
I got swindled in my trade too I aint get to offer Rodgers - Cromartie any sort of deal

Wait so the players are accepting right away? The one I tested with said 'ill get back to you next week.'

Does anyone know if my FA signing declines his offer if i will be able to tag him next week?

If they accept your offer it'll show it in your "my actions" section.

Do you know the answer to the second part? I guess if he declines I can just tag him this week?

If he declines I believe he'd still be on the list as declined or something along those lines. Anyone who is in that screen can be franchised by clicking y I believe no matter their status. But once we advance past this stage, if you haven't used the franchise tag then you'd lose it.

Kevin kolb is still out there if anyone wants him :)

And yeah Lv if Vick is still available, shoot me a pm

Only lost about 3 second string players. All my stater's are back. I only have about 9 mil left in cap space i really was hoping to get a big name this off season guess not. I wonder who has the most cap space.

If I trade Vick to someone now, and they can't afford him, can we do a drop and sign, instead of straight up trade with the contract, like a few people did in the regular season? Not sure how that would work with a draft pick anyway.

NEVERMIND But still a question that may come up for someone else

Cardinals finally decide to cut ties with Kevin Kolb.

Cardinals trade block-

So I'm a bit confused on the offseason already. There's a number of players I can resign but it seems like most have 1 year remaining with a 2013 cap hit. Are these guys that will hit FA now? Or just end of next season? If its now, I'm soooooo screwed. Losing best defender. Okay 2nd best, Landry.

Btw, Bart Scott on trade block.

All of mine were in the last year of their contract. I was able to sign most of them and have $10 million left to make Free Agency interesting!

lol well i better be careful matt ryan is in his contract year time to move dead weight players to make room for the stars that are here to stay for good.

So what I do about these guys that should have had contracts left but we did the drop and sign to get the trade through? Cause it was definitely not worth it to trade Peterson if I don't get them back

One of the commissioners can say for sure, but I think you have dibs in him in FA. You could always tag him.

intersted in taking tony g back to kc for him to retire where he should?

Okay, looks like I figured things out--more or less. I have NEGATIVE 4 million in cap space so I'm not signing anyone anyways, but it looks like most of my players I can resign are still under contract for 2013. The only ones that seem to be missing from both my roster and my resign list are Bell, Bryan Thomas and Chad Johnson. I assume they retired, but I can't seem to find a list.

Anyway, my trade block looks like this for now:
Bart Scott, MLB, 87 OVR, 33 years old, 2 years left, 8.98M, 9.77M

I would consider Santonio Holmes as well for the right price. He's 87 OVR, 29 years old, 3 years left at 8.67M, 10.07M, 11.91M

I'm getting totally boned on this Jason Smith contract. This cannot be real either, because the Jets swapped in this guy for another middling OL. 24 million dollar bonus, with cap hits of 9.37M and 10.99M over the next 2 years. I would only save 1.37 million cutting him because of the bonus money. 73 OVR, hasn't seen a god damn snap all year. He's actually not terrible, (73 Pass Block, 81 Run Block, 84 Impact Block, 90 Strength) but the guy ahead of him outclasses him in every category pretty much and cost .0001% of his money. I wish I could justify cutting him, but at 1.37 million in savings, I might as well eat the bonus with him on my roster and use him for depth.

was wondering if i heard this correct before but i did here that the game puts away a certain amount of cap space for u to sign rookies not sure if this is correct or not wondering if anyone has this info. also curious to know if that is true wut happens when u trade for more picks? very curious to know this answer to this becuz i dont want to trade players for picks if i wont be able to have cap space to sign the rookies

You get exclusive rights to them in FA if you were unable to sign them this time.

Thats for only people who traded for someone THAT season? Trading for FA should come with some risk. Im in the market for a Corner so Im only able to make FA bids on non traded players?

Sorry, let me clarify. It's only for those few trades which were approved before the deadline but not able to be processed normally because the deadline came earlier than we thought. This is a one-time exception and only applies to a handful of players.

These are the guys covered by that:
Brandon Weeden (Chiefs)
Greg Orton (Chiefs)
Ricky Stanzi (Jets)
Dexter McCluster (Broncos)
Mark Sanchez (Broncos)
Adrian Peterson (Giants)
Brancon Fusco (Giants)
Chris Snee (Vikings)
Kenny Phillips (Vikings)
Prince Amukamara (Vikings)
Michael Bennett (Cardinals)
Quentin Groves (Bucs)
Jamell Fleming (Bucs)

Again, these were guys who were in approved trades before the deadline which were ultimately moved via cut-and-sign.

I'll reiterate that people shouldn't get their hopes too high for FA. I expect we'll be able to count the number of elite guys who hit the market this first year on one hand.

Thats generally the case irl as well. But when guys like DRC don't re-sign with their respective teams, it makes it really interesting. :)

Oh, and congrats to mog on his title! His name has been added (well, re-added) to the hall of champions in the OP. He has the honor of taking down the first Madden 13 title, and also tying sprice atop the all-time title leaderboard with 3.

Definitely. I'm sure there will be a few interesting names on the market. I just know some people have been clearing cap room in anticipation of some kind of free agent bonanza, so I just don't want people to get their hopes too high.

Depending on how my 2014 cap shapes up, Revis and Landry might be hitting the market next year. Both with 1 year remaining, and me with no cap space. Might be looking at a firesale at this year's deadline. :/

Only two guys rejected my offer, one of whom I tagged. I did bring a lot of guys back on cheap one-year deals without bonuses though, allowing me to cut them if I need to if I sign better FAs or draft picks.

I'm not sure if the trade comission is processing trades at this point in the offseason. But the Cardinals and Eagles have one ready to go on the last page.

We're on it.

I'm not sure when you can actually process trades in the offseason though.

Im already saving the cap space for Revis :D

Well Greedy McGee Desean Jackson asked me for a new contract mid-season, I just laughed because he had JUST gotten one for 5 years/40 Million.

Unfortunately it now looks like he will be in the Free Agency market for you hyenas.

Good luck, man. You'll have to fight my cap clearing efforts OR whoever might get him before the deadline (if it isn't you! :)), so it could be a tough one.

Doesn't make sense that Desean Jackson would be available unless Madden didn't get his contract right when the game came out or in subsequent updated rosters.
I got swindled in my trade too I aint get to offer Rodgers - Cromartie any sort of deal
Regarding DRC:

It seems pretty obvious that this issue was caused by a bug in Madden rather than anything Cru did. My guess is that LV ended negotiations with him before the trade, which meant that Cru wasn't able to re-sign him after the deal was made. It's not very realistic that he wouldn't at least be able to franchise him, therefore we're going to allow Cru exclusive rights to him in Free Agency.

If anybody else thinks they are in a similar situation with any traded players in the final year of their deal, please let us know and we'll look into it.

I didn't have any contract negotiations with DRC in Madden 13. I just saw what was coming, got a good deal and cut ties.

Well, something happened anyway. At the very least he should have been able to franchise him, which obviously he had every intention of doing.

Cru, have you used your franchise tag already?

I don't understand it either. Maybe he won't hit Free Agency (fingers crossed). He still has four years left on his deal, I just figured he was negotiating to get more money, and since I didn't talk to him he is holding out now? I don't know.
