Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!
Supposedly yeah. It's going to be expensive to upgrade attributes though.
expensive i thought they said u couldnt used the xp points u bought for onlnie
expensive i thought they said u couldnt used the xp points u bought for onlnie
You use the XP you earn in games to buy attributes for players in the franchise.

ok thats what i thought im hoping that xp points arent the only way ur players get better becuz i have a feeling players wont be getting to much better that way i hope they still use a little bit of last years POT system
I need a MLB and a 2nd WR and I'll be golden...
I might have a WR depending how the preseason goes for the niners and who gets cut lol

I should have been more specific on the Rivers thing. I'd be willing to let him go for a combo that contains a another younger with potential QB. Along the lines of a Dalton/A.J. Green combo or RG3/Garcon. I can't roll with Charlie Whitehurst as my QB hahahaha

I'm gonna post this now, without bv or uber's permission (neither online!)

But Please don't start talking trades now. The season hasn't started yet, Rosters aren't finalized. It just doesn't make sense.

Get your team (the FINAL one we'll be using), Play with it for a week, then start deciding where to go.

We are NOT Going into Week 1 With 10-20 Trades. I'm Sorry Boys!

bv already beat u to it but its fun to throw around the idea plus helps for others to see ur interest... ive already pmd like 12 people lol
It's just a rumor mill right now, nothing being finalized.

Salary cap needs to be kept in mind. A Rivers trade would cripple most teams unless they give up one of their highest paid players.

Use this site for contracts.

do u know if u get hit on the salary cap for cutting players?
do u know if u get hit on the salary cap for cutting players?
Depends on the player's contract, but yeah I imagine they will include cap hits.

Madden 13

7.5 overall
Yeah I saw that on the forums. What'd they say was wrong with it?

Not going to matter anyway, they always score around a 7.

said new engine is great but some weird animations when there is pileups or people getting up from the ground

kind of picked at connected careers but said online it's great

basically they said it's a great new step for madden but a little rough as we should expect when they finally start it from scratch basically

"Overall, Madden13 remains quite raw. The engine shows a great deal of promise, and connected careers features a lot of interesting ideas, but there's no question that this is a rebuilding year. The best news is that EA finally seems to be on the right track. Give it another year, and Madden may at last be a true contender."

Ah well, the weird animations are definitely there but I expected them.

Don't understand why NBA 2K will continue to get a pass but the critics will continue to hammer Madden when this is the most they've done in 6 years.

Still can't wait :D

Thanks for posting that.

Found some more interesting info regarding connected careers.

http://dlgnow.com/livewire/madden-nfl-13-connected-careers-breakdown/286

- Free Agency bidding period where each team has a fair chance at winning Free Agents. Each week in the off-season you offer players contracts. When you advance the week, they will make a decision based on their offers on hand. Free Agents will weigh their options based on multiple decision points (team success, team need, money, coach, etc.) and choose the team that makes the most sense for them.

- Full Draft Scouting through the length of the season.

- Branching storylines that change from franchise to franchise. No franchise will be the same as the other. In one franchise the top prospect may stay on track and get drafted 1st overall. In your other franchise, that top prospect may suffer an ACL tear in the BCS bowl game and drop down all draft boards.

- Draft Sleepers that you can find based on your scouting - no two draft classes are the same.

- Entirely new progression system based 100% on player performance and XP points they will gain through the season. As a commissioner, you can choose when progression happens for CPU teams. Players will gain XP points on their own by meeting goals and as the coach you can delegate out those XP points.

- Legacy scores that track your success as a coach or player to measure up against the rest of your league in ways never seen before.

- Tired of always being able to re-sign a player? In CCM, some players may be sick of playing for you and refuse to resign in hopes of getting a better situation through FA. This can change an off-season strategy completely.

- Extended injuries can last into the off-season and the following season, completely changing your off-season strategies and goals.

- No more set retired players day. Players can retire at any point during the off-season which means you could have a huge hole at QB if you didn't plan accordingly and anticipate the possibility of losing your WB.

- Have a bad season with your team? You can be fired. Removed from your team, even if you are playing in an online CCM. You will have to retire and come back as a new coach or take of a new team that was vacated by another failure of a coach.

- Full functioning draft with live time trading, live time commentary from Trey Wingo and rookies with their own unique storylines.
we won't have coach firing right? I'm already on the hot seat
Says you can just create another coach, though I'm not sure how that affects your team. I think coaches level up as well.

sounds awesome but teams who have better success sounds like they get more xp points and with the new free agency will we keep it open? i say we do a 2 week franchise when it comes out and experiment

If we can turn some of those things off, we might. Especially team success. I don't think anyone wants a situation where the better players always get the better FAs.
Im also going to bet most of this isn't in online ccm.
Hasn't Doom been saying all along that there is no difference?
Hasn't Doom been saying all along that there is no difference?
Yeah according to everything I've read, they're all connected.

So Superstar mode, offline franchise and online franchise will have this stuff, they're just all under the name "Connected Careers"
Hasn't Doom been saying all along that there is no difference?
The video I watched showed two options in the game menu - online and offline. That coupled with the fact that they say 'in online ccm' on some features makes me think it is going to be different.

i wonder if it will tell u if.that person is lookin for a payday looking for a superbowl chance or something close to this before u try signing them

I can also confirm the potential attribute is gone for good. Any player can become a superstar (but it's going to take a lot of work)

"You earn XP by completing three types of goals: weekly (e.g., rush for 100 yards); season objectives in four tiers (e.g., total number of passing yards), where better performance gives you more XP; and career milestones (e.g., win a Super Bowl). Experience points buy rating or trait upgrades for players, and boosts for coaches, like an increased chance of re-signing a star. If you need some extra XP, you can grind in practice mode. Speaking of grinding, the progression system ensures that you won't become a 99-rated superstar in your rookie year."

I don't think you can scrimmage against other users, but apparently you can earn XP in practice mode. And yes you can create your own coach and take Harbough's job. You can map your face to the game if you have a Kinect device.

Im happy my team is playable on the demo this year !!! I can get some early practice with Moss !!! Ger ya 84 jerseys out !!!

More info.

Are all players rated the same for each coach?

Every team rates players based on their individual philosophies. Gone are the days of every single team thinking that the same running back is a 90 overall rating across the board. The Saints prefer smaller receiving backs while the 49ers lean toward backs that can handle the load. This brings a whole new layer of strategy to the Draft, Free Agency, Trades, and Scouting. You might think a rookie QB is an 80 overall but the Bears may think he’s a 76.

How does a coach get XP?

Playing as a coach, you’ll have goals just like players to earn XP. Examples would be have 600 yards of total offense, score 3 rushing TDs, Win the Super Bowl, etc …. So you’ll have some of the same goals as the players do. There are over 1000 goals in Connected Careers.

All of the coaches goals are predicated around the team.

Do coaches have ratings?

No coaches don’t have ratings in the sense of 0-100.

They are instead broken up into 4 levels:

Level 1 being an entry level coach that really hasn’t done anything to the level 4 coaches that have been around, won Super Bowls, etc ..

If you create a coach you will come in as a level 1 Coach and as you advance your career you’ll move up.

Will you get more XP for players that fit your system than guys that don’t?

Yes.

So in essence there might be a DE that is a speed rusher but does not fit your system and there may be a slightly lower rated DE that fits your system. You will gain more XP from the guy that fits your system than the DE that doesn’t.

What if you don’t have time to progress your players that week?

You can save your XP for next week or you can have the CPU auto progress your players for you

If your HB has a big game, does the whole team get XP or does he just gain XP for himself?

So if your HB has a big game then he earns XP for him and the offensive line.

What is the new practice mode?

A new practice mode allows you to play game scenarios (similiar to Madden Moments) each week to earn XP.

The harder the scenario, the more XP you’ll get. If you choose an easy scenario, you’ll only get a little bit of XP.

Who will you be playing against in practice?

You will be playing against a scout team that will be running the defensive playbook of the team you are to play that week. So if you are playing Green Bay, then you will play against a 3-4 defense.

What are team specific ratings?

Each team has a specific type of player that they like? Saints like receiving HB where as 49ers like backs that can carry the load. Depending on that teams philosophy they will rate certain players differently. So a 3-4 DE may look like a 85 OVR and for someone else look like a 77 OVR.

Do we know around when we're going to start playing league games?

I just found out that I will be going out of town for work until around September 7th.

I plan on bringing my xbox but I am not sure if I could get it online or not!
I hope I can bring back my special teams dominance from Madden 11 ? Remember Ginn !!!

All too well unfortunately.

Also is anyone a little apprehensive Iin regards to all the new features? Seems awesome on paper but in my experience the more moving parts the more crap ea will screw up.
cru, kick returns were 100 times easier in madden 11...
Agreed. I hope they don't change a thing from 12. They should be hard.
