Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!

Rglll is the truth on the madden 13 demo !!!!!!

I played with him earlier today and his deep ball is money. I am a little surprised that Garcon is rated so low. He is better than an 82. He almost had 1k yards receiving with Curtis Painter at QB. That deserves a little credit.

Going to scrimmage Ramesu when I get off work today, and get some good practice in , I need a human opponent to find out if Moss is where I need him at lol

Here Is the manual for Connected Careers -manual

A lot of good info in here. 175 pages!

Edit #2: real life trades are in there, sorry Washington.

The manual doesn't say much about setup options. It does give a guide to each team and their draft picks for the next few years. STL has extra picks and WAS is missing them. Not saying that means we can't edit it but a lot of things seem to be static(no fantasy draft, no equipment editing, etc.)...

Does anyone have a sense yet of how easy it will be to change the scheme of your defense? For example, I understand (and like) that certain players play better in certain schemes, but if I have the personnel in place to run both 3-4 and 4-3 (as I often did last year) will I be penalized for doing so? I like to have a lot of variety in my defense, and it would be unfortunate if I was pigeon-holed into a scheme I'm not comfortable with.

Just tried the demo. After the usual Madden rust, I think it felt pretty familiar. I didn't have as much trouble usering linebackers as I'd been lead to believe by some of the comments. I was still able to get in the backfield pretty routinely against the CPU.

Still not a fan of the receiver icons graying out and then lighting up, as I think it gives a crutch to people who don't bother to learn the routes and diagnose coverages.

You just need to pick 'hybrid multiple front' for your coaching scheme.

i really enjoy learning more information about my team and the hints to help make my team better for the future

Damn...did anyone notice they gave Bruce Irvin (Seahawks' first round pick) 90 speed? Freaking insane for a DE....and the Seahawks even have another 90 speed DE but he's like 53 OVR or something lol. Irvin also has 93 power moves and 86 pursuit...low block shedding, but if you spend all your XP raising his block shedding, he's gonna turn into a BEAST!! I'm jealous...might have to start planning my first trade!

Can't wait to see the rest of these rookies...

hey thats my move to be making :booty:

This may be a dumb question, but last year, I had my controls set to where you could highlight a player on defense, press A, and then select his specific coverage. But in the demo, it seems pressing A just switches you to another player. Is there a setting to change that? Or is that one of the things they remapped?

Also, has anybody noticed the CPU logic being noticeably worse than last year? Both on All-Pro and All-Madden, they just completely mismanage the end of the game. I was ahead 10-3 with just under a minute to play and the CPU just got the ball back (and they had 1 timeout left). They ran the ball for 3 yards on 1st down, ran a hurry up, and spiked the ball to bring up a 3rd and 7. Then, they ran the ball again, hurried up to the line, and had an incompletion on 4th down.

Then, when I got the ball back with like :33 left in the game, gameflow is calling for PA passes. I realize these are small things that can be avoided, but how difficult is this stuff for EA to grasp? It's basic football sense...and it doesn't change year to year. Eventually, you'd think they'd get it right.
The Buffalo Bills are going to be a force in the AFC (in this league)
They were #2 on my list, should have a beast D-line among other things. I'm glad I got the Eagles but it would have been fun beating Widdow twice a year with Buffalo.

We'll see! Though, I can see you doing some damage with the FJax/Spiller combo and that front 7. Good luck getting anything through the air on me though.

I guess I should download this demo and preorder the game, huh?

Right now I would say the AFC is a hair tougher than the NFC based on everyone's performance last year, but you never know what will happen.

And you never know about personal and how people want to play. I feel the Bears match what I want to do. Run the ball and throw to one guy! haha
Really? I'd not heard that about you. ;)
 and dont forget about causing the most fumbles in the league. ha

I'm excited to get this underway

Well with the three-time incumbent champion in the NFC. I think we can call it even. The NFC Championship is our Super Bowl.

All of last year's Super Bowl winners are in the NFC except for Mr. Perfect Season. Plus we have MA with his home squad.

Start the season with a bang!

I'm going home and downloading that demo. Finally have some downtime tonight.

I pre-ordered my Madden from Best Buy. Got some codes for Andrew Luck and a $10 gift card/certificate when I pick up the game at a local store. Is that the best deal out there?

Amazon did the same thing but with $15 credit. Then again you have to pay for shipping (assuming you don't have Prime or you don't mind waiting the 5-8 days), so it probably evens out.

Here's Amazon's deal.

Get a $15 Credit and Amazon Exclusive Pre-order Bonuses
Pre-order Madden NFL 13 and receive a $15 promotional credit toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (certain exclusions apply, including but not limited to Kindle books, gift cards, and Amazon Appstore for Android apps). Also, pre-orders get the Andrew Luck Future Stars Draft Pick Madden Ultimate Team Card for immediate use in Madden NFL 12 and future use in Madden NFL 13 as well as the Amazon exclusive NFL Legends Joe Gibbs and Lawrence Taylor for use in Madden Ultimate Team and the Connected Careers mode. The $15 promotion and NFL Legends codes will be sent via email within two days of your order shipment and the Andrew Luck code will be sent to you via email within two days of your pre-order. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders. Limit one per customer. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time.

Also in this league the AFC is definitely more stacked than the NFC.

Best Buy also gives a $20 credit if you're an Unlocked member...so total of $30. Of course it costs $15 a year to be an Unlocked member, but it's more than worth it since you get $20 for a bunch of preordered games.

Exactly why I'm going with BB for Madden
