Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!
I didn't mean to start or be a part of any trivial arguments. Sorry 'bout that.
I'm just surprised nobody has complained about not getting a shot at the Dolphins. Tannehill looked incredible today: 19/26, 320 yards, 2 TDs. Great first round pick.

Oh, wait...
So has anyone seen any news about the patch/CC roster update? Still expected Tuesday?
Saw on os roster update this week I haven't heard anymore about patch can't wait to see what they fix and break at the same time.
Do we still have the same trade system or what's going on this time around.
Same system for now, but we might modify it once we get going to adjust to the differences in this year's game.
I hear the jags are looking for a QB I also hear Palmer is on the block
He said he'd retire before playing for the Jags. I talked to his agent.

I see what you did there

Their front seven looks really good, as they showed yesterday they could have a great run defense. The secondary is still a concern though, and they didn't get a ton of pressure on Locker, so it's definitely still a work in progress.

I'm hoping whoever is doing the roster update for Connected Careers watched the Broncos game last night, especially Tracy Porter and Demaryius Thomas.

I think the Pats' dominance up front was due to the fact that every team loads up on CJ and dares the other "weapons" on the Titans to beat them, but the Pats D was impressive.

The 9ers are awesome. They are so well coached, they execute on offense and defense unlike any other team in the league. I was shocked by the Jets and the Falcons, glad for Peyton and looking forward to the Ravens game tonight!

They didn't really though, they were only in their base defense for about a third of the game, mostly they had 5 or 6 DBs on the field and I didn't notice too many plays with 8 men in the box. They just straight-up dominated the line of scrimmage all day.

They've always had the ingredients for a dominant run defense with Wilfork and Mayo, but the rest of the pieces around them have really rounded out. Jones and Hightower look like the real deal, and Brandon Spikes has really turned into a great run stopper too (though he didn't do much yesterday).

The thing that actually impressed me most about the Patriots yesterday was their tackling. Last year they seemed allergic to wrapping up or making solid hits, but I didn't see a lot of Titans escaping first contact yesterday. If that's more than a single game aberration, I will feel much better about the defense just based on that alone.

Madden NFL 13 Title Update #2 will be available tomorrow on the Xbox 360 & PS3. The update includes a new instant start option when creating your player in Connected Careers, numerous stability fixes, and GameFace improvements.

We’d also like to remind fans who have been asking about the ability to edit players and rosters in Connected Careers that based on your feedback, the development team is currently exploring the potential option to include additional functionality in Madden NFL 13 in an upcoming title update. We’ll update you with more information in the coming weeks after the team has time to investigate and assess the situation.

Whether we can start or not will obviously depend on what those "numerous stability fixes" are.

I doubt it's worth waiting for the CC-specific patch, since there's no target date in mind.

All we're waiting to hear about now is the CC roster update, since I think most of us would prefer to wait for that. Any word?

They didn't get updated with the rest of the online rosters?

No Jeff Demps?

Well in that case I'm fine with just starting tomorrow and making our own cuts in pre-season.

The Eagles secondary took a hit in madden with the real-life cuts.

How long are we all willing to wait for that? I wanna start this shit up!

Has anybody created a league just to see how it run's and sort out any error's? I say we should do that and just see if there's anything we need to adjust or would like to. It would suck after we start and there's a setting. We can't change or something along the line's of that matter.

Yes, I've been playing around with the settings since I got back.
No way to track free agent pickups other than if it comes up on the in league twitter feed. Same with trades. If you didn't know.
I didn't, thanks for the heads up. I assume that's not something that wil be available on the website? I haven't had a chance to play around with that yet, I know in the past there's always been a transaction log there.

If there's no way to monitor things, it'll need to be on the honor system, though suffice it to say that making unauthorized transactions will not be looked upon kindly.

If we wait for the rosters does anyone know if Madden is going to auto-generate players? If we do a preseason then we'll have to have more than 53 guys on the roster for cut days.

Don't see it in the website either. No transaction log to be found.

I just realized that I have to play Cru in week 1, and I've barely had time to practice. I've beaten him before (and he has beaten me), but I have a bad feeling about this.
Do we have a list of things we're looking for the patch to fix? I'd love to help out with some testing if needed.
For sure the defensive back coverage bug. But I'm sure someone like Doom who's played more than I have could provide a much more exhaustive list (and would be much appreciated).

Defensive backs have the hands of receivers in this game. 80% of the jump balls, the DB will come down with it.

Linebackers are still super human.

I haven't seen much we'll have to worry about in this league. The QB sneak is fixed. The game is just glitchy and lacks polish.

I doubt defensive catching abilities will be toned down in the patch. I've noticed most of my games are low scoring which is a relief over past seasons. I hate when every game turns into an air it out, throw jump ball after jump ball. The increased picks makes me think twice about just tossing it up to double coverage. Makes it seem like I'm playing football more than a video game.

My DB's are stupid too I just had a play were he saw the ball coming could had intercepted it or swatted it away. But he decided's to strafe away and then tackle the WR after he catche's the ball.

Like I said, we can tweak the sliders to lower the interceptions (so we can just go back to CBs dropping 12 picks a game lol), but as far as I can remember...DBs have ALWAYS won 1 on 1 match-ups against WRs in tight coverage. The WR never comes down with it...you pretty much have to throw it to an open guy every time. I think user-catching is easier in this game too (along with interceptions) since you can just hold down Y on both offense and defense, so I hope that makes jump balls a little more efficient on offense. I could have Larry Fitzgerald matched up against Brandon Flowers (6'3 99 jumping against a 5'9 87ish jumping corner) and still not be able to take advantage of the height advantage.

This year they prided themselves on no more LB/CB with eyes on the back of their heads picking off passes with their backs turned to the ball...but you can still easily do it yourself if you just switch to the CB and hold Y. They'll still throw up their hands to deflect the pass on their own at the last second EVERY time, the CPU just won't pick it off like before.

I haven't figured out how to utilize this new "touch pass" system with like 20 different trajectories or whatever they advertised...I'll still have a wide open receiver but not be able to float the ball over the zone CB so it'll just get picked off. They say it depends on how long you hold the button when you pass it...but that makes zero sense to me. You can either tap the button to lob it...or you can hold it down to pass a bullet. There isn't really anything in between...if you hold it for longer than a split second then the QB will throw the ball. Do they mean hold down the button for 0.05 seconds instead of 0.1 seconds? It isn't humanly possible to do that lol. Anyone able to utilize the touch passes?

You have to keep them default you fuck around with the sliders who knows whats going to happen...who even knows if those sliders work properly...they are probably just another aspect that went un-tested, like most of the gameplay for this madden!
Anyone able to utilize the touch passes?
Yes, I've noticed a difference. I don't know that I've noticed twenty different trajectories, but there is definitely more variety in the passes you're able to throw as compared to last year.

^^I agree with this ^^

You can be sure that the 3 of us (commissioners) will attempt to put in extensive testing if we DO Decide to change sliders, before the season starts. We're not just going to willy nilly pick a number and allow the season to start without knowing what we're walking into.

I'm currently finalizing the official league rules. Once I'm done (and siradam and ubernes have reviewed them) I'll post them in the thread for any feedback before we officially put them in the OP.

I assumed that, can you adjust the sliders during online play ? just in case I wanted to get some practice with sliders if you decided to change them.

We can adjust the sliders for the league, yes.

My feeling is it's never going to be something we do during the season. We might tweak them a bit before we start (though I doubt it will be much, and we will do so transparently). But say if after the first season there were 14,000 interceptions and 3 sacks, we might want to adjust the sliders a bit in order to create a more realistic gameplay experience.

It's not something we're going to be fiddling with week in and week out though, since I think the only thing worse than a game which is unrealistic would be one which is both unrealistic AND inconsistent.
