Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!
http://www.operationsports.com/foru...tch-immediately-cant-believe-they-missed.html

Major Connected Careers issue. Who even knows if this will make it into the first patch.

Basically, you only get one shot at your online Connected Careers games. If someone disconnects, the game gives the win to the person whose connection is not at fault.
Has EA acknowledged the issue?

Suffice to say, there's really no way we can or should start until that's fixed.
Nope, no response yet. This is a game breaker.
What pisses me off the most is you never see this shit in reviews. Yes, these are online features that are often not live until the finished product is on store shelves, but that just can't be acceptable anymore. In an age where we're being micro-transactioned to death, the online component HAS to be weighted just as heavily as offline. I've been calling for online betas for sports games for years, and this is the exact reason. When you're selling a yearly product, having the first month of its life cycle riddled with bugs and glitches is fucking pathetic. I just don't get how they screw up something when there was already a valid way of dealing with it in last year's game. If they were being properly critiqued for these screw ups, it would hurt their sales. And that's really the only thing that's going to make them stop being so damn lazy with their programming.

It's EA man. They don't care about the quality of their product half the time. And the fact is, since Madden is the only NFL game, it's going to sell well regardless if it's shit or not.

Look how NBA Live turned out. If 2k was still making a football game, no way would EA be getting away with this shit.

Saint'sRow911;9938830]It's EA man. They don't care about the quality of their product half the time. And the fact is said:
people would think hard if they really needed a new football game every year. I just feel like the entities put in place to protect consumers from this sort of thing are really dropping the ball. I love sports games and I love Madden, but for a $60 yearly admission fee, plus what people spend on player boosts, MUT card packs, avatar items, etc., they really should be doing better than this.

Just out of curiosity what if EA doesn't consider this an "issue" and leaves it as is?

Yeahhh...I'm starting to fear that you're right. Reading through the thread on OS, people are saying it only happens in the 2nd half, and that if the game drops in the 1st half, it lets you replay the game. That sure makes it sound intentional. Granted, they could still wind up changing it due to the horrific backlash they're about to receive, but still...wow. I didn't think EA could get any more out of touch.

EDIT - This is what somebody smart is asking for at OS. I hope someone is able to test this tonight because this would be the only possible workaround for now.

Could somebody please test this:

Play in CCM until the 2nd half
Have one user turn off their console
When the other user gets the message to quit; turn off the console

Load up the CCM and let us know the results!!!

I suppose we'd have no choice but to take it on the chin, which is of course what they would expect us to do.

It is intentional. Reading through the thread makes that pretty clear. It sucks, but my guess is the developers are working with a whole new code base because of connected careers and didn't have time to recode everything.

I'm not digging the barebones madden that i received this year...they definitely need some competition so they better the game and not strip it to barbones...no fantasy, no drills...this game should have been $40.00 brand new.

Wow, in addition to the disconnect issue, get ready to be extremely limited in what commissioners can do. Saw this post over at OS.

EA has done a terrible job at giving the commissioner powers. As it stands we cannot release anyone other than our own team, cannot complete a trade for another team, cannot adjust the cap if we wish, cannot sign players to another team...I could go on forever...

So, basically, you play the way the game wants you to play and that's it. If the game doesn't allow it, tough titty.

From my experiences I don't even know if the commissioner can see who restarted their games and who didn't. The only thing I can see about another team is if they are ready to advance. The commissioner isn't really a commissioner, but more of an "Advance" button clicker.

Perhaps the joke is on us for actually thinking EA finally gave us the online franchise we deserved. Still though, the fun of this league has always derived much more from the guys in it rather than the game we're playing, so we will be fine even if its not everything we'd hoped.

Well said!
i felt last yr i was one of the best at user picking i feel 13 is harder... gameplay is so diff
I feel like this game gives 5x more user picks than last year, numbers don't lie unless the math sucks..we should compare Interceptions season for season.

lol...well, then why not start an Official CAG Uno League? At least that way we'd get to see everybody's junk. \\:D/

Looks like that does work, so we can make that our workaround for now.

Obviously the rest of the disconnect rules still apply, so this won't be a free ticket to a restart in every case.

actually if everyone readies up the commish doesn't have to do anything it advances for you when all ready up

Well, that's good news. I guess that's the one thing you can count on with EA. Even when they do try to enforce something, there's usually a loophole, lol. At least if it's the losing team that disconnects there are options. But any time the winning team disconnects, it would have to be a restart. I'd imagine you wouldn't have to actually kill your internet either. Just pulling up the guide and going to the dashboard should accomplish the same thing. The main thing is not press "Quit and Count" which apparently is the only choice this year.

Someone will still do that in each league and claim they didn't know.

I assume BV will hand out a strike and we will carry on. We are only able to work with what we've got. At least at this point there is a workaround.

Right. Whatever the final policy ends up being, people will be well informed of it.

Posted from the Boston T which still smells as terrible as when I was a kid. Ah, home.

Yup, that's how I feel about it too. It's better than just being completely screwed and having to take it on the chin.

I haven't gotten to play the game too much yet. I'll spend the next week getting ready for the season and trying to find a defensive book that works for me (46 again?! Maybe!). I'm really liking the Chiefs roster, but I'm not sure they'll fit in the 46 I ran last year. They've got a few soft spots on defense and Matt Casshole can lick my taint, other than that I think I've got a solid squad.

On the other hand, SEA looks pretty good this year. Almost wish I would've gotten them back!

Had my first experience with online today.

Actually played pretty well with the Browns. Had a 14 point lead going into the 4th on the Jets and was able to just sit on the ball with a 7 point lead. Literally had 1 play left to kill the clock and then I get a "disconnect" message and get hit with a loss? WTF

Palmer is on the block you know you want him.
Coming soon - The Arian Foster Show

Glad we got that disconnection issue sorted out.
Running is sick this year. Foster is a better back than Charles so I'm sure you'll be pretty damn dominant, but I'm gunning for that top spot.

Yes it is.... Already have the run offense installed :)

Just need to work on defending the pass with this horrible secondary.

Going to have to work up a sig now. Maybe I'll toss in the old CAGFL logo from last year!

Edit: Doom - how many games do you have in already?

25-5 in ranked play and played a few unranked and community games.

I've probably put in at least 2 hours a day since release.

You must be a student. I couldn't find 2 hours a day to play video games probably any day of the week.
