Madden 13 Official CAG League - On Hiatus. See you in August for Madden 25!

I am done, thanks for having me but I am Maddened out across all these leagues. I'm going to stick with the other league, if I end up going undefeated and get "moved up" (kicked out) I think I am just going to trade the game in. I hope I set the team up to succeed with 3 first round picks and overall a pretty good team now. I figured since I had kind of ruined them with the Peterson trade I would play through that season, I was hoping I'd be more competitive this season but I feel like I'm not. I'll probably be back for Madden 25 or whatever they call it. Do I need to drop out of the league in Madden or set to auto and wait till someone picks them up? Again, thanks for having me.

If you could drop I'd appreciate it, but if not I can boot you.

Sorry to see you go, it's been good having you in the league.

I'll once again give Deuce first refusal on the Vikings, though if he's still going to wait for the Texans we can give them to one of the new guys njrockpd is bringing in.

Sorry to see you going. You played a good game, and Madden made it very one sided.
Haven't heard from Superstar regarding playing today.
Please let me know one way or another in the next couple of hours, since it's now the last game we're waiting on assuming the other two are sims.

Hate to see you go, you were a Decent owner.

But what I hate EVEN MORE is that you signed the following..19 days before quitting the league.

7x 7 Year Contracts
75m Vick
49m Hester
49m Brown
42m Barnett
33.25m Lewis
30.8m Melton
19.6m Colquitt
9.1m Brown

2x 6 Year Contracts
Can't find them currently at work..i know one was 48m

1x 5 Year Contracts
39.5m Turner

In one Offseason, you spent 395.15m.

I'm sorry that you're maddened out, but Please give congratulations to the next team owner that joins and coaches this team, you've Ruined it for him.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

They still have about 17-18m in cap room I believe, plus if Antione Winfield isn't resigned that frees up another 10 million next year cause he was franchise tagged. Which should absorb any increase and with the 3 first round picks allow some building if some players won't be resigned to watch out for salaries for the next year, or just keep trading those first round picks for the next's year until they are needed to replace players because of salary concerns. I understand where you are coming from, but I do not think it's as dire as you make it out to be if the team is managed properly.

I just got home and said I can play at 7.

I'm still up for giving 2-day advancement a trial run, but it definitely won't be next week given that tomorrow is Valentine's day. I'm sure the wives, fiances, girlfriends, etc of the Madden league will appreciate it. The deadline will be Saturday night as usual.

If we get our advance in early enough on Saturday, the next week might be a good candidate to try it out. So there's something to shoot for.

The team is actually pretty good talent-wise, they just don't have a ton of flexibility if the new owner doesn't like who's there. They do have three 1st round picks though (including mine), so that should make them pretty attractive from a development standpoint.

That said, in the real NFL, where the bill collector would actually come calling on all those humongous contracts, they would be looking at certain financial ruin a few years down the line. Not as much a factor in Madden, which is of course why he did it.

I'm playing Hemingway and Mog back to back in the fantasy league and this one.

I'm going to conservatively set my over/under for points allowed to 60. Any takers?

im going to go 80 :) just for that Hem fella lol

First win for the Cowboys this season. First time I had fun in awhile playing, and not because I won, but because the game was close to the end.

Same for me. I just wish I could have recovered one of those fumbles or thrown fewer picks, but I had fun the whole time. Normally, Madden games seem like a chore at this point.

Yeah I caught a few breaks with those. I also threw a bone-headed interception when I should have ran the ball.

Baltimore Ravens 31 - Denver Broncos 28

Probably the least upset I've ever been about a loss. The Ravens came out and punched the Broncos defense right in the mouth with their running game, absolutely dominating the first half, going into halftime with a 28-7 lead, with the only Broncos points coming on a kick return TD. But the Broncos hung tough and managed to crawl all the way back, the biggest factor was figuring out how to defend the run, which absolutely tore the Broncos apart early. They managed to tie the game with a minute left. Unfortunately they left the Ravens too much time, as they were able to drive down the field and kick a FG to win. Awesome game though, and definitely good for the confidence that I was able to fall so far behind early and battle back.

I'll add some stats later, need to finally eat something after so much consecutive Madden. I didn't turn the ball over though, which after about 6 turnovers in my game in the other league felt pretty good.

gg mog! Our games always seem to be classics, so I'm glad I was able to crawl back into this one and keep the tradition alive.

Just wondering when I was up 28-7 could I have still pass??? Just wondering don't want another strike

You were still passing the whole way, and it was fine. I didn't have a problem with a single thing you did in that game. A 21 point lead is definitely not safe against someone with a good offense, as evidenced by the fact that I came back. Passing there was no problem. In fact I'm glad you did since the Bailey pick helped get me back in the game.

Plus I was still clearly trying to win. If I'd conceded and was running clock, I'd expect the same courtesy, but if you're facing someone who still has a chance to win the game (which I did) and is still running their normal offense (which I was) you're 100% free to do the same.

Ok cool

Ray Rice is such a beast. I'm glad I was able to make some defensive adjustments to slow him down a bit in the second half. Those first couple drives I was legitimately thinking I wouldn't tackle the guy for less than 20 yards all game. Granted he still put up 200+ yards, but after the first drive it was looking more like 400. :D

Only downside to all of tonight's Madden (besides losing twice): I had to miss UConn getting the last word in their rivalry with 'Cuse. Enjoy the ACC, douchebags. ;)

Bucs 41 Chargers 19

Freeman QBR 123.6 459 yards 5 TD 2 INT
Smith ran 16 times for only 48 yards
Hill 227 yards 3 TD
White 123 yards 1 TD
Biggers played big with 3 INT
Vaughn, Shields, and McKenzie all had an INT as well.

Hurns QBR 47.6 275 yards 2 TD 6 INT
Mathews 32 yards
Dozier in his debut for the chargers had 3 REC for 74 yards
Barnes 93 yards 1 TD
Powers with one of the best diving picks ive seen in madden in the endzone
Toler also had an INT in his Debut for the Chargers

On the good side Biggers filled in for him pretty well.

Saints 31
Chiefs 13

Brees 13/18 207 yards, 1 td 2 INT
Weeden 7/20 161 yards, 1 td 3 INT

Sproles 13-86
Charles 15-38

Lance Moore 5-135 1 TD
Tony Moeaki 2-60 1 TD

Saints had a pick 6 each from young CBs Johnny Patrick and Corey White. Rainy day definitely effect gameplay.

Saints are 4-1 and at the Panthers next week.

I'm somehow 4-1. Getting pretty lucky late in the game, so I'm expecting my season to go down in flames in some epic manner soon enough.

Bengals 4-0
Broncos 4-1 (twice)

Bengals-Raiders

Sounds like we'll have someone shortly, so I'll get that sorted out and hopefully get him an invite tonight.

Eaqles 23 - Redskins 21

My rookie QB Boyce balled out for this one ending the 1st half with a 30 second 80 yard TD drive and the 2nd half with a 1 minute game winning field goal drive.

Birds move to 2-3 after 3 horror shows and 2 close division battles.
should i stay in this league? maybe im just terrible but i feel like im nothing but a free win
thats for you to decide i would think. I would just say you can always get better. After every game just pm the person you played and ask what you can do differnet or even ask ? in here most if not every one will try to help you out.
