Mailed Sears Ad has 2 for $30 games starting Saturday Feb 26th

JCNY23

CAGiversary!
Select games are shown in the ad such as:
Sonic Mega Collection(Xbox+PS2)
Crimson Skies(Xbox)
PGR 2(Xbox)
Topspin(Xbox)
ATV 2(PS2)
GT 3(PS2)
and lastly Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal !!!

Will they sell it at that price?

I have PM at Best Buy a couple of times and in each case I PMed they called the store I was PM to check to see if that was that price and if it was in stock. A PM at CC, they didn't call the store to ask for the price and if they had it in stock when I did it the two or so times. To me it looks like CC would be the better place to get the games because BB will call Sears about R/C: UYA.

Thanks Sanjuro.
Ok let me get this straight. Print out the ad, go to BB/CC grab R&C give it to the clerk, hand over the pinted out ad, then you can get the game for $15?

Never PM before, so im new to this.

In theory, yes. You might have to get 2 games, or they could always make up some excuse on why they cant PM.

I wonder if this is a nationwide Sale or just YMMV. Seems the ad was sent in the mail seems like a local sears is running the deal. IF it was a nationwide thing the ad should of been in the paper and not mailed to people (Unless the ad comes sunday)

Dont expect many places to PM something you printed off the net. Most stores need the FULL COLOR AD before they will price match a thing. I dont even think that print out has a Date on it so there is another reason im sure Many stores will NOT take it

SWEET!!! I got the ad today

FYI it has a girl on the front w/ a pink shirt on and a big orange flower in the background and says "Super Springtime Savings" and the back is green w/ a riding lawnmower and also says by the mailing adress "please deliver on Feb 23,24,25"

I was think about getting ratchet and clank through this ad... since i didn't want to bother my friend who works for Sony. He gets games for $10 with his employee discount but they take forever to arrive.

was it in the mail? Can you scan the whole ad or at least a page with the dates on it?

I got the ad in the mail myself. I'm surprised some stores are letting people PM before the prices even go into effect at Sears.
I cant believe someone can't just scan a decent copy of the ad.
I can't believe you just said that. Once someone who has both the ad and a scanner has to chance to do it, they will. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see one at all.

and I can't believe that you cant believe that I *said that*

Now I Would be surprised if I didnt see a scan, considering its already been done rather poorly on page 4.
The ad didn't appear in my paper today..
Yeah, I didn't get one either... :whistle2:k

Anyone actually have any luck getting Ratchet & clank UYA at Sears today?

I picked up the last one at my sears. My friend had to PM @ CC to get his copy, the system works only thing is they made us get 2 games. I would scan it in but the book is pretty thick and the cashier at my store had a copy anyways so check urs.

Thanks for the tip. I will have to do that when I get a chance to go to Sears after I get off of work.

Does the deal work without the ad at Sears? In other words, they are actually honoring this deal?

I got the ad too, but no mention of any video game sale
I got an ad for Sears today actually but it had the girl with a pink flower in the background...
Me too. That's the ad for next week though (starts on the 27th).

I went to the Sears at Spring Hill Mall in Dundee Illinois without an ad and they wouldn't honor the deal.
At my sears they had R&C 2 listed on sale for 14.99 along with the others in the ad. I had to show the guy the ad and he had to adjust the price manually

I don't get the newspaper I am cheap. Why pay for news when it's free online.

Didn't bother bringing a scan as I figured they would laugh at me. So went to sears and looked around for the flyer but didn't find one. Asked the cashier in the tool dept, who had one. Walked over to the game section which was tiny first time at my sears game section.

They had 2 R&C left. Grabbed them both, one for my brother. Same as phatbunbao, had to show him the ad. He was shocked, had to get the manager to over ride. The manager said it was a misprint and that I was getting a smoking deal. I tried playing dumb but couldn't hold a straight face and started laughing. He looked at me like I was crazy. Anyways big thanks OP. Two R&C for 30 buck sweet! The funny thing I was at the same register like 2 weeks ago and got a memorex DVD player of slickdeals for 13 bucks. It must be my lucky register.

BTW do any of you guys have trouble keeping a straight face when doing this stuff? :)

It's good to see that people are getting in this deal.

I am going to sears myself in a few hours with a scan in hand, but I'll look around the store for a real ad first.

I'm sure this deal will be dead soon because it will get reported.

Good luck!

The manager that over rided the price for me knew it was a misprint but he honored the price. I'm pretty sure they have to it's an advertised price. Who knows. Good luck.

Went over to one Sears and found a copy of the ad, which showed RC:UYA in the 2 for $30 section. In the electronics section, all the games except RC:UYA had the $14.99 sale price sticker over the normal $19.99 price. RC:UYA was listed as $39.99. I asked a rep to get me two copies of it (they have it "locked" in a special rack) and pick 'em up for $30. He looked over the ad and shook his head a bit, needing a manager to authorize the override for the price, since it didn't ring up at $14.99. They were marked at $15 each and I picked up two of them.

Then it was off to do some PM's, since there are four stores in the area that would do PM's, and here's how it went:

Circuit City: Would PM it down to $15, though wouldn't do it for $12.50 as their PM policy clearly states it will. Sales rep didn't understand the policy and deferred to their store manager, who told me that she'd match it, though wouldn't do the additional 10% to $12.50. Some BS that completely conflicted with their stated policy on the wall. I personally think she didn't want to take a $27.50 hit per game and was trying to cut her losses. I called the CC complaints dept. and lodged a complaint against them, since this was the only time at CC that I ever had a problem with a PM, doubly so since the store manager insinuated that every other store who did the 10% additional at time of purchase was doing it wrong.

Toys 'R Us: PM'd it down to $15/copy without a problem. Needed a manager override to allow the PM.

Best Buy: PM'd it down to $15/copy without a problem. I didn't want to deal with the whole "buy, then go to CustSvc for the additional 10% difference", since the CustSvc reps didn't seem like the brightest bulbs in the box.

WalMart: PM'd it down to $15/copy without a problem. Needed a manager override to allow the PM.

And in case someone starts complaining about hoarding, the extra copies are picked up for other CAGs, and every store I went to had plenty of copies left after I was done.

There are two different ads at Sears that actually have similar covers. The one with this deal has a woman on the cover and a large yellowish flower in the background (with the 'Super Springtime Savings' text that phatbunbao mentioned). That one started today. There's also the standard weekly ad (starts tomorrow) that has a similar looking woman on the cover and a large reddish pink flower in the background. That one didn't have the game sale.

I managed to get a copy of the game ad by visiting the Human Resources dept. and asking for one. They had a stack of ads in one office. The man who looked through them told me that he thought that this ad paper was also supposed to appear in newspapers (as opposed to being an ad by mail). He gave me a copy, and I found RAC:UYA in the games section. Tried to get it with PGR2, but that one was out of stock, so they gave me a raincheck for it and sold me R&C for $15 :D Many, many thanks to the OP!

For the people who asked for the ads, did they have both versions of the ads? I'm afraid they might not have the one with R&C3 for $15...

Oh well, I gotta try it later

this question may have already been answered, but i couldnt find it in any of the posts...

is this "sale" ending today, or is it actually a sale thats supposed to start tomorrow?

TIA :D

Anyone seen the ad anywhere in the West Coast? I went to my Sears in CA and they acted like they had no idea WTF I was talking about. The only ad they had on hand was the one for the Presidents' Day sale that came out last Sunday. Needless to say I didn't get in on the deal...

Oh well, you can't win 'em all. :)

The sale started today. It's an overlapping sale that is different from the standard week to week sales. This one runs Feb 26-Mar 12.

Ok guys, the ad is not one of the flyers you get in the paper (I don't think). It's a big booklet at the front of the store, green in color. Mine had the games on sale marked at $15, but since R&C wasn't marked I had to get Sonic as well to do the 2 for 30.

Toys R' Us wouldn't pricematch it, since it was a specific deal (2 for 30) rather than an actual sale ($15). I'm gonna try some other places tomorrow, see if I can get some tradebait or something.

Going to pass on this sice I dont have the ad. Don't mind waiting for a few more month when it offically hit $20

They can't have both versions because the second one doesn't actually take effect until Sunday.

Gee, if that's not the pot calling the kettle black, I sure as heck don't know what is. Horrific English and all. :D

And as PMing the ad requires me to buy two copies, I'm forced to get two copies at the same time. As I hit the four places in the vicinty of a store that had them, leaving plenty of stock at each, how am I hoarding? Plus, I'm not so much of a horder, since five of them (and a sixth pending out) are already sold to other CAGs, for cost + tax + shipping.

Slidecage, if you want to chip apart my reputation, go right ahead. Get your facts straight first. You might find it a little difficult to pull that off, he who buys Xbox games and forgets that he has an Xbox. Or was that condoms and not having a penis? I forget which situation that is. :p

I am a so called other person. And there is a difference between hoarding and buying them for others. I know on a few occasions, I have bought multiple copies of games to sell on the boards, but I always give people an opportunity to buy them if they want (making several trips to pick up the game if it is only at a specific store)

Also it is not like this game is sold out everywhere, there are tons of copies to be had if you have the ad

Exactly what I'm doing here. One copy is mine, two were retained for those who asked me to get them specifically for them, and the other seven went into a trade thread. Five sold, one pending, one open.

Thanks for the clarification on what the ad actually looks like. I went back out to another Sears and happened to notice someone else's discarded ad at the customer service desk under a pile of junk. I asked to see it and the guy said "Sure go ahead!" obviously not knowing anything about what was in it. I take the ad to the electronics counter and ask for my Ratchet and Clank (plus another game) for thirty bucks. 15 minutes later after several other employees and managers got involved, I got in on the deal. I apologized for causing all of that trouble and the original Cashier said "Oh don't worry about it. Thank you for your patience, and have a great day Mr. Sandoval." :whistle2:k

I left thinking I didn't even tell the guy my name and it sure as hell ain't Sandoval... Why the fuck did he just call me Mr Sandoval?!!! Turns out the ad that I yanked from customer service was originally sent to the Sandoval Household. :D So yes, thank you Mr. Sandoval! and thank you OP and everyone else who contributed info on this deal!!!

Ok, so if you were falsely accussed before and you felt violated because of it, why would you turn around and accuse someone else? You have as much knowledge of shrikes reasons for aquiring so many as we did yours. Calling Shrike a hoarder wont "right" what happened to you if indeed you werent hoarding as you say. All youre doing is stirring up trouble and further proving what a little person you are. Let it go slidecage.....its over. Sorry if once or twice we falsely accused you of wrongdoing. You need to let that water go under the bridge, for your own sake and ours.

Bad news :

The instore ad in my area does not have the video games on the page, but dvds!

It's totally the same page with the cd players but it had a bunch of dvds in the middle, So they didn't believe me and wouldn't give me a copy of it, even though they had it in stock.

They said If I can show them the REAL ad that they would match it.

Can I pay someone to send me a physical ad if they pick me up an extra copy from your local Sears? I'd love to get into this deal.
