Are there going to be downloadable tracks? 16 is so little these days. Especially since MK DS was full of tracks and stuff. I only hope that MK Wii will do that and more.
I believe there are 32 tracks. Nintendo Power had a big spread on the game this month, here's my summary:
- Mini-turbo after doing tricks
- Most items return (Bullet Bill from DS replaces Chain Chomp), three new items: Mega Mushroom, POW Block, Lightning Cloud
- Freshest MK experience since SNES
- Using the wheel takes some adjustment - full turning range is about 10:00-2:00
- Short impressions of the first 16 tracks w/ thumbnails
- 12 standard characters, 6 hidden, unlockable Mii
- Overview of the button config for remote while in the wheel
- Point into the slide before you hop to do a drift - easy to start drifting the wrong way otherwise
- Automatic Drift option (no mini-turbos, no hopping)
- Both stages of mini-turbo charged by holding a drift
- Ramps/hills/bumps in all courses for tricks
- Wiimote speaker sounds alarm when an item is approaching
- Drafting returns from MK DS
- Timing for turbo start the same as MK DS
- Grand Prix: 1-2 players; Battle: 1-4 players; Time Trials; Vs.: 2-4 players
- Race and challenge ghost data in Time Trials online
- Battle Mode - Balloon Pop and Coin Runners; 2 6-man teams
- No mission mode from MK DS
- 50cc karts only, 100cc bikes only, 150cc both
- Bikes only have one stage turbo, but can pop wheelies to get a boost
