My Psylocke is already 5/2/5.

This is where having a level 166 5/3/5 Psylocke pays off. Im running a Psylocke, Torch, OBW team. Psylocke lays down strike & attack tiles, Torch has his green flame jet, and OBW steals & heals. Pretty much lay the smack down really quick. I love being able to take down an opponent in 1 turn. Its a double whammy, flame jet in the beginning and Psylockes black attack tiles at the end. Triple whammy when you add the crazy high attack tiles. 343 strength attack tile!!!!

Can you Broly an event? I mean Ive missed sub events before and it didnt turn out so well for me. I think it was either a hood or magneto rerun event.

This is Doc Ock! Get your ass in gear so we get his covers! There's another event that ends in about 2 days. Since Ive already started the main event I went ahead and unlocked the sub. Will probably start that tomorrow or so. Started the last sub last night in the wee hours of the morning, was at #2 & stopped. Woke up to being in #30, with 17 min left.... Did some nodes, game says Im ranked #15, while the pending reward thing says Im #13. Game be trolling, why couldnt I be in the top #10 yo?

Usually not when you get to the point where you miss a subevent hahah I will definitely try though. I will jump in at the very end of this new subevent then and see if I get into a nice bracket. I am too scared to try any later than that though right now. Maybe with one that doesnt have a brand new character haha

I know I have just had a bunch going on and since I ed up joining before the end of the first subevent, at this point there will be little to no difference in my total points if I wait to join the second one because the max points adjust over time.

Are you guys really all that stoked for just another new character or his moves? I want him at least 1/1/1 for the inevitable next event but honestly I am not really all that excited to have him be an eventual main character like I was with Colossus.

I guess I don't see the point in joining at the end of a PvE subevent, since there's nothing like queued seed teams to give you an edge. Join now, and I have no doubt you'll get at least one PvE token. Join close to the end, and you could get bad bracket luck.

It's just a game, and it's up to you. I'd just love to go into the next PvE knowing that everybody has at least one Doc cover.

There is a big difference in when you join for PvE.

Basically by joining in at the tail end you get better brackets and at that point the max values for the nodes has already risen to accommodate where everyone else is pretty much at. This only works though if you have a strong team that can still plow through the PvE nodes without real difficulties. I do this with every PvE and it basically equates to me playing roughly half the matches as everyone else who has the same amount of points as me and I place higher in my bracket since it is a lower one too.

Granted this point is of concern now though because with PvE with subevents it is likely that without that initial point boost from the butt end of the first subevent I may not get enough points but that is why I am testing it at this point. If I join now or I join Sunday night will make a negligible difference in my score in the end.

Trust me, I have been scamming these brackets for quite a while now ; P

My Thor is 3/1/3 and I just got another red cover. I really like his red attack, but I keep reading that the best build for him is 3/5/5. So, should I sell off this red cover?

#35 in sub event 1 in my bracket. That was a nice result. I also laid low in the Heavy Metal event, scored myself a much needed second blue Daken** cover.

Keep it for now. You want to get him to the highest level possible quicker. You can always drop the red once you get more of the other colors.

Wha? Thats either burnout talk or youre discriminating! Im going to say its discrimination because this is a villian character and you know how MPQ usually treats villians characters. Basically you want a cover for the next event, but honestly you could care less about Doc Ock since he's going to be trash later anyways right? I think its kinda neat this is the 1st real super villain not tied to the Dark reign story line in any which way since they dropped the dark reign title. Everyone else was either in the Cabal or in the Dark Avengers... OK well except Magneto, but thats a different case....

Short sweet confusing answer= you get a character to 13/13 powers no plan just first come first serve. When you get another cover for said character you adjust how you want by increasing the power of the cover you obtained and dropping one of the other powers. However if you get a lets say red power and your character already has 5 in red you can do nothing except make a duplicate character or sell it.

Its pretty simple when you get a new card, if it says train instead of sell it will pretty much ask you which other power you want to drop. Once again this only happens if a character is at 13/13 powers.

My Human torch isnt quite high enough to compete in the sub events (except for the super easy level 35 nodes that I usually dont even bother with)

You can wait till the end of the  PvE to join in for the larger point totals, but you might miss out on the progression rewards. And there might be too large of a gap to catch up on.

I'm mostly just playing the essential nodes for now.

Technically it stands. When it comes to caring about this, you really could do less of it; if you really wanted to. In reality you SHOULD CARE MORE though!

Grammar aside, when was the last time...ok I'll nip that right now: Colossus.... Aside from him, the new back to back characters are just meh. I think you're just now noticing that with the good Dr. Im pretty sure this far into the game you have your go to team you love playing with. Where does Beast, She Hulk, Captain Marvel, Sentry, or Daredevil fit in any of those teams? How far you at leveling any of those up to make them effective enough to be in your main team. (With you I should exclude daredevil, I guess since you get so much daredevil love. I myself still dont have a damn blue power yet!) Burnout has finally caught up & you're looking at those powers like,"Did they just throw darts at a board and mix up everyone elses powers?" I completely understand though, I hit that wall when Shulk came. I still look at her powers and go what? Why would I waste perfectly good red/gree/blue AP when Ive got tons of other better characters who have powers that do shit?!??! When Id rather spend red/blue AP to drop a daredevil skill as opposed to hers then you know somethings wrong (& to reiterate I still dont have a damn Daredevil blue skill!)

That aside when does the daily timer reset? My daily rewards have been jacked. My heroic tokens used to come on saturdays. I think somewhere I missed a day as the daily rewards didnt have the extra iso by my name in the daily rewards. I think I was waiting for the last hours of an event or tournament, so its possible I skipped a day. However now its sunday and I have to wait 1 more day for my heroic token. After my heroic token I get that IW cover. So I know Ive been logging in and getting the daily rewards at least. Just wondering if anyone else lost a day? I know some havent been playing for various reasons but I honestly lost a day or 2.

Eh just a random who snuck in. I think as we kicked to make some spots they got in & because no events were going on we havent cleaned house yet.

Last thought ModHawk Speed shot, thank you. That progression reward is definitely going to put a 5 in speed shot. Electric Arrow, blue, is definitely crippled without damage. At least its good for some board control.

The time for daily rewards is pretty off. it seems like in other games it's on a strict 24 hour clock. (I always have to be wary if I log in at 2355 or something)

But with Puzzle Quest  the daily rewards just seem to pop whenever. I swear I've gotten two in one day recently.

Haven't seen a full 20 players in the alliance lately either.

Pins and Needles here.... serious pins and needles.

22 mins to go in Fatal Attraction PvP event. Wanted to score me some more Psylocke covers to help with this PvE event. (Bewilder is nice, but sheesh... I pair her with cStorm, or oBW, and they need the blue waaaaay more than she does!) So, I started in about 5 hours ago, playing a little bit here and there. (RL really gets in the way of Brolying events, y'know? Did I do that right? ) About 5 mins ago, I finished the last "realistic" match, one against a L20 IM35 and mBW. Next up? L166 Patch and L166 Punisher... dafuq??? All of a sudden, all three nodes were full of AAA teams (not just 3* teams, which would be bad enough, but 3* MAXED teams...). Great, just great. Got myself to #16 with my 300-odd points, and now I have a chance to miss out on that red cover in the last now 18 mins of the event.

I am already down to #19 as of the writing of this message, and my phone is starting to go crazy with defeats... at least I got over 300 in my run to get the Heroic Cover. (ended up being HT**, so I dumped Jugg-head to pull him in... not going to lose him a second time!)

So, cross your fingers... I need all the prayers I can get... Would love to have Psylocke have an actual attack aside from her crazy-high pumped-up tile strength!

Ended up at #43. Well, at least I get to keep the extra 500 ISO and 25 hp. So there's that...

I really need to stay away from these PvP events until the last 30 mins and only go for the 100 pt 1* token and the over 100 2* cover. Save myself some heartache...

Except now it is a powered up Psylocke event... sheesh...

Cap*** is 100 under cover, with Daken** black as 100 over cover.

BTW, what does the little silver hex symbol next to a players rank in PvP leaderboards? Does that indicate somebody who squashed you on their way to the top, or what?

It means they have shielded.

If you havent looked into that, basically you can shield for various amounts of time at the cost of HP. Timing your shields is crucial in PvP when you really want the rewards. You can still get attacked while shielded, however when you lose you do not lose points. On the flip side though, if you win one of those matches you actually gain points. While shielded you cannot initiate an attack however, otherwise you will break your shield.

So I started this morning on the train and I managed to squeeze out like 17,xxx points. I have it all set where I can do a final push in a little under 2 hours from now and will hopefully manage to end this subevent with a score total of at least like 22k

I know it isnt ideal but it still is something! I definitely do not recommend skipping the 1st subevent hahah

I already booted the two randoms at the bottom that just joined recently and havent said anything. Hopefully we can get more in that have high scores!

I am in the same camp as Broly. Just get me one for sure for the next event's special nodes. Villains do get the short straw in this game, and I wish his powers were a little different. For example:

• Manipulation swaps half the board, and can destroy any type of opponent tile, while generating AP (should generate AP anyway, correct?) -- this might actually be what it is at level 5. Could be useful.
• Insult to Injury would be better with Strike tiles instead of Attack (might have been OP). This power makes me wonder why they created a villain to combat the biggest combo in the game, which is created by 2 villains (Sendaken's DakenStrikes + World Rupture + Surrender 1 turn after World Rupture)
• Armed and Dangerous should stun the target. When has anyone ever needed to randomly stun someone for 1 turn, or have a 33% chance of stunning the exact person you need it to?

Yeah, especially since you only need to be top 150 for at least one cover there is no excuse really that we all shouldnt at least get that! I already am at like 50 in my new bracket haha.

AND YES. I agree his Blue is enticing and has potential, I give him that. His passive is unique but I feel like it isnt something that would be really utilized all that much. Perhaps I just dont notice how often I am matching enemy special tiles, but it doesnt seem all that much to warrant a move and I completely agree that strike tiles would be far better. Then his last move is just a crapshoot. Like seriously they were like.. hmmm lets take every move effect, combine them into one move but make it largely useless. Damage output even when maxed is minimal at best, the AP reduction is helpful but as we have seen before not all that guaranteed to help and then why would I care to stun a random enemy? I dont know, he seems decent I suppose with a 5/5/3 build overall but for some reason I just dont like him.

I can say for sure that I effing hate the design they picked to go with. I hate that look for Doc Ock. He is forever a fat guy in a tight green suit. I dont like when they have tried to have versions of him in the comics where he looks somewhat smooth and normal. No. I want a fat weird scientist, it fits his character best.

Scored top 10 in the subevent. I am in the top 50 overall and as an Alliance we are sitting at about #130 with only 18 members currently. If we get decent scoring people we should be able to make top 100. My score is still lacking but I at least have caught up. I have I believe 26k which for playing this morning now for an hour total isnt that bad! I definitely will not be a driving scorer this event but I will make sure to not drag us down either haha

I can see his usefulness in PvE I suppose yeah but normally I target Bullseye before he gets of any defense and Daken I feel like isnt that common in PvE. I forgot that Countdown tiles count as special tiles so with that in mind it definitely does seem like if I were to have him leveled he would be a pure PvE backup because in terms of PvP, I refuse to ever fight Sentry/Daken and so I just skip the shit out of them haha

And yeah I feel you there about the green. It is as though they want to be sure EVERYONE freaking uses green. Bah humbug.

Unfortunate thing was, I drew a Blue one and I only had 4 in Blue so I trained using it just to max him. Now maybe I will at least get some red ones since that move seems somewhat better.

Got Moonstone and PlainThor with my two subevent tokens. Whee. I don't need any covers for the featured characters in this event, so luck was already stacked against me. Currently 28 overall in my bracket, hoping to inch my way into top 20. Top ten is 14k away, with top spot in my bracket is 30k ahead. Guess I've got some optimal grinders in my main bracket despite getting top 10 in the last two subevents.

I use 5/3/5 - a stun trap is too unreliable. Red at 5 is a must, the damage is crazy. The only up side to Daredevil is that his powers are cheap. It's not uncommon to have like 5 traps active waiting for one to be matched. Problem is, the AI seems to know where they are and will never pick a match unless it's part of a 4 in a row.

He really needs a way to force the traps to go off.

Didnt know anyone else had him maxed at 13 powers! Yeah 5/3/5 makes most sense to me too. With my luck I am sure I will be able to respec him to that fairly soon haha

AND YES! There needs to be a way to force your traps. If more characters utilized traps they could make something like Hood's Intimidation but for traps. BUT the devs realized Traps were effing stupid and nobody else has them... haha sooooo that wont likely happen.

Gotten lucky the last few pulls.  Picked up Green Ragnarok, Green Human Torch, and Yellow Patch over the last 2 weeks.  Now I'm pretty sure I just jinxed myself until next season.

If you havent looked into that, basically you can shield for various amounts of time at the cost of HP. Timing your shields is crucial in PvP when you really want the rewards. You can still get attacked while shielded, however when you lose you do not lose points. On the flip side though, if you win one of those matches you actually gain points. While shielded you cannot initiate an attack however, otherwise you will break your shield.

He is genuinely the most useless character in the game.

Funny part is my secondary account he's one of the 3*s I have thats actually useful. I only have 2 reds on that account for him, but I still use him and why is that? Well because-

Red at 5 is a must, the damage is crazy. The only up side to Daredevil is that his powers are cheap. It's not uncommon to have like 5 traps active waiting for one to be matched. Problem is, the AI seems to know where they are and will never pick a match unless it's part of a 4 in a row.

He really needs a way to force the traps to go off.

Also to add onto this there are issues as to what can and cant disarm a trap. When daken makes strike tiles that disarms a trap. I forget if a move like Hulk or Juggs green which breaks random tiles disarms it or not. Its always very iffy as to what can set off a trap & that also hurts his useability. However when you do have all those cheap trap tiles up and someone actually sets one iff he can do some major damage to the target. Radar sense (purple) is ok I mean even if you match it you get something.

Btw,  I have a new found appreciation for Hailstorm.  It screws with Sentry's World Rupture placement, and it can disarm DD's traps.

That being said, is there even an ideal build for Daredevil or is the ideal build simply to not have him? Seriously, he never even is a required hero or anything or even powered up. He is genuinely the most useless character in the game.

Anyways just a repost, but we all know why Daredevil is in the game....For the ladies! (or if you're into it, the guys too!)

Ok, now I have a new question... I was just thinking of laying back and only getting the black Daken** in the current PvP. Since I have a red Cap***, should I just try to repeat my efforts from last night and get over 25, then shield, to get his blue and yellow? I think I remember reading that he is not all that worth it...  But nobody has mentioned to me that I should be making Daken part of my go-to team, so maybe I shouldn't try to get him any higher than 3/2/3 and "waste" more ISO on him.

Suggestions?

Sure sure, If Daredevil's junk wasnt so mesmerizing they wouldnt have made his red move so cheap to pull off.

You just have to be lucky and get someone to match the trap tile to get the reward.

2* Cap, piece of crap stay away. 3* Cap (Steve Rogers) is one character you want. I have mine at level 166, I use him as much as possible. 3/5/5 thats what you want. 3 Yellow, 5 in red and blue. Daken, meh, even his 3* is just ok. You want Steve Rogers!

Ok, I guess I got the two of them confused, lol. I will go ahead and try to repeat my performance in Psy's event and then shield once the 166'ers show up... Then pray I hold on to a sub-25 slot. If the alliance gets to 500 or better again, then that would pay for the shield.

I know it is "just a game" and I should get over it, but gawd I feel dumb for not shielding last night. I had seen the popup, but never looked into it...

Since I only have 1 cover in Cap**, should I just go ahead and sell him?
