Looks like they rolled back the forums to the old design, and they are better now.  Reading the Vision article, this was interesting:

Miles Benjamin: Our main focus in creating a character is making sure their personality comes through in their powers, but when we can give a nod to a classic comic relationship, we try our best to make it happen. I don’t want to give anything away, but we put a fun Easter egg in the game when you add them both to your team before a battle.

Also, way to go CAGPvEngers!  Finished 6th in a PvE with a 4 star character release.

For Daken (Classic)

Is it better to have 5/5/3 or 5/4/4? Currently he is at 3/5/5
Depends on how you play him. I run him 5/5/3, mostly because if I'm going to go through the trouble to build up strike tiles, I'm not looking to remove them and reduce the blue tiles on the board. Maximum healing and strike tiles is the build I prefer, and only use blue when I don't have other options or need something that does more than match damage but less than the nuke I'm saving for someone else. Also, I've mentioned how well he works with Blade, especially if you can get him to tank purple.

However, there is something to be said about how cheap blue is to kick off, especially if you can bring Kamala Khan or Professor X along. Also, with the general health increases across the board and the existence of passive defensive tiles, strike tiles have become slightly less powerful. If you have another source of cheap strike tiles, like Punisher or Psylocke, blue isn't a bad investment. But keep in mind it's horrible when you have strong strike tiles like Sentry, Patch or Rocket/Groot - the tiles are chosen at random, and the trade off isn't worth it.

It seems likely. Fury, Colossus, and wolvie were the rewards for Dark Avengers: Heroic and they're the essentials for the next PvE. Hulk rewards give xforce, Laken, and mnMags, so it's a good bet they're the next essentials. Though TaT was the first to require a 2*, 3*, and 4* and its rewards were 4hor, Vision, and Daken, with vision being the only essential of the three.
 
I havent gotten a single gold pull from a DPD Token in forever. With that Red Colossus from the last event rewards though I finally have mine at the right power build I want at 5/5/3.

I also have been focusing on just getting a bunch of people to around the 100 level. Since it is so much cheaper now to get to like 119/120 my goal is to get a hoard of 120s haha. None of them are really stellar characters but all decently covered and having them at that level when they are boosted means they are favored over other.

How is everyone liking Invisible Woman since the patch? She is far better than before but still just 'eh' to me. Seems like a decent PvE with her blue to lock out countdown tiles and attack tiles and stuff if you don't have any other means to do so. Defense tile generation and hiding is pretty solid too. She isnt really terrible anymore but just not like 'oh man I really like using her.'

Speaking of terrible... I am not digging Vision one bit. I can see the potential but I am really getting sick of all these set up characters where I have to pull off one of their moves first before the other one is really useful. That is clearly the way they are going with a large portion of their new characters it seems and I can see the merit in that but you really need to make the set ups a bit more powerful once pulled off I feel like, otherwise I would just rather use an older character whose single move is just as powerful as some others' two combined. Regardless though what are your guys' thoughts on set up moves and just Vision in general?

 
I used IW some in the last PvE since she was boosted and required. Mine is 4/4/4, but only around level 120, but I liked her quite a bit. If you lock a countdown tile, it stops counting down?

I like the concept of Vision, but I don't have enough covers to know how well I'll like him once he is leveled up. In the boosted level in the last PvE, when you used his heavy (blue) density, he was doing almost 1000 damage on his regular matches. So, while red is his only active damage ability, that blue countdown tile can also cause a bunch of additional damage and it only costs 5 ap.

My Colossus is at 5/5/3 after the last PvE, so he just needs to be leveled. With the decreased costs, I've moved everyone who can be to 110, and I'll probably continue to 120 once I get some more iso, since that's where it seems the costs really spike. I do need to finish leveling my Falcon now that he is maxed.

Yeah countdown tiles do not move if locked and strike and defense tiles and stuff do not seem to count at all if they are locked, even if they are your own. I have not looked up to see technically what it does or does not really impact though, that is just from my experience.

I didnt get a full taste I suppose from just the one boosted level but if that is the case that is pretty damn solid for Vision. Some characters even with low level powers are still alright to use, he just may be one where you really need him leveled to be any help at all.

And I feel like 120 is where the cost to level up spikes as well. They likely made it 40-120 decreased costs and then probably back to normal or something for the 120+ levels (for three stars).

 
Invisible Woman goes from alright to pretty good based solely on that fifth blue cover. Below three, and it's not worth putting levels on her unless you have nothing else to do with the ISO. The fifth blue is what lets you lock anything on the board - including special tiles that aren't usually included, like invisibility, charged, and even Ultron bombs. She is definitely a PvE support character, though. She can take the wind out of the sails of Bullseye/Daken nodes, but she isn't going to be a threat to other players.

I don't know how I feel about Vision. While the density mechanic is interesting, strike and defense tiles have more general usage over his blue/yellow. I get the flexibility they are going for in his design, and the full covered loaner did well in the last event. I think the problem is, for him to be useful, he needs to be the best character on your team so he is making most of the matches - and that isn't going to be likely unless you're a newer player with incredibly specific token pulls. It's the same (but worse) issue as Patch's red or Gamora's black, but those powers don't rely on the character actually making the matches, just controlling the colors.

And yes, once you get to level 120 for a 3*, the cost to level jumps about 400 ISO. I haven't been leveling everyone, but I have been leveling whoever the boosted characters are each week.
 
They are changing Moonstone's Control Shift ability because it messes with the game.

Hi, all,

Will here from Demiurge to let you know about an upcoming change to Moonstone’s Control Shift power.

To refresh your memory, Control Shift steals an enemy Countdown tile and stuns the enemy if there are none. Upgrades increase the stun and can shorten the Countdown.

Control Shift can lead to some great stories (like that time Miles stole a Recovery Countdown from Wolverine (X-Force)), but it has a lot of drawbacks: It’s situational and complicated for a 2-star. It’s expensive to fire at 17 AP. The nature of the power doesn’t lend itself well to a clean, understandable upgrade path. And it adds development and testing effort to every power that uses a Countdown tile in a new way, creating bugs and taking time away from other features we could be developing.

We fought to make it work for a long time because it can lead to cool moments, but ultimately a simpler, less expensive ability makes more sense for this character.

The cost of Control Shift is decreasing from 17 to 9, and the power now steals enemy special tiles:
At level 1, 1 Attack tile.
At level 2, 1 Attack or Protect tile.
At level 3, 2 Attack or Protect tiles.
At level 4, 2 Attack, Protect, or Strike tiles.
At level 5, 3 Attack, Protect, or Strike tiles.

(As always, these numbers might change between now and when the change goes live as a result of further testing.)

Whenever we make significant changes to a character, we increase their sell price. That’ll be true for Moonstone, too: her sell price will increase (to roughly 50% of the Iso-8 that was needed to level her up, or the current sell price when that’s better) for 2-4 weeks when the change happens.

We expect this change to happen in a patch the middle of next week.

I was playing PvE and wondered what it did when she stole Colossus' Immovable Object tile.  I guess the answer would be not much?

 
I am just glad her sell price will go up for a while seeing as she is one of the only effing characters I have been pulling lately.
I had started building one, thinking to pull the Magneto trick of getting HP for ISO. Since she's only worth boosted ISO (and not more than I would put into her), I think I'm just going to cover her in anticipation of when she becomes the next 2* PvE required character. I'm guessing that will be sooner rather than later.

Leader in both was hawkeye584 of Medusas Lair and he's capped all of his characters, including maxed 3*s, at 70. Hopefully the streak can continue with the simulator but they're basically forcing people to play it now with a character release. The past two Sims have had minimal activity it seems

That's so frustrating that to have an advantage in the game you shouldn't level your characters. I know they want to make it so new players have a chance to compete, but there should be some way to balance it out. I can't imagine the mountains of iso he is sitting on.

Man... the only cover I can use from the Gauntlet is the Hulkbuster... 

I am not sure if I will even try for it. Getting that last cover is always a pain in the butt and really that means I will have 2 covers for my Hulkbuster anyway not like he will likely EVER be usable for me.

Other than a break from the PvE grind?

Was really hoping for a newer 3* to be in the progression. Hulkbuster is the only cover I need. I'll work my way up to it in between other things going on and appreciate the vacation.

Although, this is the first Gauntlet with the new health pools. Maybe this will be a little more complicated than previous runs - I haven't failed to finish one yet, and very rarely do I end up having to do any particular hard node more than twice.

Friendly reminder - each Gauntlet subevent scales up as you finish nodes. If you want to minimize your scaling and still finish everything at least once, follow the main line to the end then go back and hit the branching essentials.

Same here. Only need the IMHB, but it's kind of funny. I busted my butt last time to get the Blade cover, and this is a "better" reward, so I should go for it, but the Blade reward was definitely more useful for the time being.

Exactly! For most of us the 4-star rewards are cool but really never see use. Getting that last solid cover for a 3 star however is immediately useful and has a marked improvement on your game.

a week off of playing besides the 2 hours before PVP end. gaunlet isnt worth the time or hassle already got 4 blacks from token pulls

Even though blue is BPs worst power, I'll take all the covers I can get since mine is only 2/1/1. He's my least covered good 3* :/ The last Gauntlet was the first I completed and I'm hopeful of doing the same this time around

I think we have a spot, but Sidlon could speak better to that. We focus more on PvE, which I'm guessing from your Carnage avatar, is what you're looking for? What's your roster look like and how well do you typically do in PvE (generally speaking, get all the progression rewards, top 100, top 50, etc.)?

I have been super lacking in playing the ole' MPQ. All the events lately have had lackluster rewards that I couldn't even use but saying Carnage literally made me pick up my phone here at my desk at work and load it up to see hahah

So it is! As far as Carnage, he doesn't seem that great, and being a 4*, he'll be unusable for quite some time for me, but I'll add my roster space for my 1-2 covers. Now I just need to find a fresh bracket!
 
I've got 28 characters. 3 star level 40 characters are my lowest. I have some 2 star level 94 characters. Sorry I didn't realize what you meant by competitive and non. I normally only play the PvE component. I play daily. I've spent a lot of free Google money on this game.

UGH. That happens to me every time!! I just assume a new cover is a 3* haha I didn't even notice when I booted up the game that he is a 4* damn. Yeah he seems decent overall but seeing as his moves all benefit the other team as well I would imagine higher levels of the moves should nearly eliminate those components especially if he is a 4*!

Yeah what we meant is mainly how intensely you play in general.

We used to have a few CAG Alliances and then merged them into one a while ago. But then some people (myself included) got somewhat burnt out on the game and consistently getting the top scores possible so that yourself and the alliance would get the top rewards. We then split off and have CAGvengers who just play to have fun and never really expect high tier alliance rewards, and then we have the CAGPVEngers where as the name implies they strongly focus on PvE, aka the events against the computer teams and not other peoples' teams in the Versus events. There they are considered a competitive alliance because they all strive to get the highest scores they can so that they all can score extra rewards. With that then you need to be consistently be participating and getting good scores and not slacking and missing events or ending on the bottom.

 
Well oddly enough it's the one game I consistently play daily. But at times I dedicate hours in a day and sometimes I play one or two rounds a day. I usually get to the top 100 but then I have no more revives. I believe last week I was in the top 50 but ran out of revives. I played until the last minute but lost and got knocked down to mid 50's. I was pissed since I really wanted the prize, which was a Mystique cover.

    - Mystique no longer stuns an opponent while attempting to Shapeshift when there are no purple tiles on the board.
    - Black Widow (Grey Suit)’s Sniper Rifle now destroys the correct amount of tiles at level 3.
    - She-Hulk’s Settlement (level 4) no longer steals both enemy tiles if there are only 2 enemy special tiles on the board. She-Hulk now only grabs one special enemy tile.

vault tokens replace Taco tokens

300+ prizes in vault with only 15 of them being 3 stars that roate ever 5 days and the vault resets every 5 days. so long story short you get a ton of crap and very little chance at 3 stars LOL

Only top 20 get both covers. Still have to work a little for it
