Myspace bulletin from the official Marvel UA Myspace says this:

The new Marvel: Ultimate Alliance expansion packs will be available on Xbox Live tomorrow morning!

That means you'll soon be able to add The Incredible Hulk, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Hawkeye, Magneto, Sabretooth, Dr. Doom, and Venom to the already impressive roster of playable characters in MUA (you can see these new characters in action in this awesome hi-def trailer!)

Count me in for some multi (I don't care what character, I honestly thing Invisible Bitch is my favorite anyway).

However, don't be surprised if I'm not around for the next few days - My son had emergency surgery today, so I have been popping between work and the children's hospital for the past 24 hrs and probably will be doing that for the next few days.

Does anyone have a link to SOMEWHERE for a list of the Sim Disc locations?! I've seen them before, but now all of a sudden I can't find any?! Helllppp!! lol
 
For those who already downloaded the new characters, any issues with corrupting save files or alterring epuipment?

If you download any/all of the character packs, can you only play with people that have the same packs as you? Or is there an option to disable/modify DLC so you can play with people regardless of the characters they have?
 
Hooray! I just woke up to this! I was last night till 1 and it wasn't out, but I guess they weren't kidding when they meant tomorrow morning.

There's a free patch you download that allows people who don't have the characters to play with those who do.

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid that if I bought the characters, my friends who don't buy them wouldn't be able to play with me.
 
Awesome so far! Venom has a cool web swing, and a back breaker grapple, and you can pick up a person and hit others with Hulk, or throw them off the board :)
 
This is awesome.. I am liking them all really much. I'm actually really enjoying Magneto & Dr Doom and I didn't think I would....Cyclops is SURPRISINGLY awesome too!!

So I got all the new costume achievements. Has anyone else gotten the storyline achievements yet? When does Sabretooth get mistaken for Wolverine? Hmm..?
 
OK, somebody explain this to me. Do the costumes or do they not come with you when you start a New Game+? I started a new game+ on Hard Mode and the costumes that I was wearing came over, but they are saying that they are locked. Also, I was under the impression that other characters that you unlocked, i.e. Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Daredevil, Silver Surfer, Blade, etc. were to be available upon completion of the game and when you started a new game+. Right now I'm pretty fucking pissed because other than the new characters, I really don't feel like playing through the G-d damn sim discs again or to have to play as the stupid ass characters just to unlock their costumes after I had already done it. Anybody know why I don't have the other characters/costumes? Has this happened to anyone else?

I seem to remember that before (post patch) you had to do the following (I did from easy to normal before the download of the new characters, I mean):

1. Load a save made sometime after completing the game once.
2. Quit out of that save
3. Choose to start a new game with default statistics

For some reason the option to use default or saved statistics and hard difficulty won't show up until you load and quit out of a save. I can't remember if it was like this before the patch.

It was my impression that the costumes stay unlocked after a new game as well as keeping characters you unlocked, but ever since the first patch that borked everything up, all bets are off. I hear that all the time: people saying that their costumes relock after starting a new game+.

Personally, I don't know, because I was waiting until the patches and that straightened out before I even tried to start a new game...

I did exactly that. Loaded my last save file where I was back at Stark Tower(Doom Stark) before you go onto Doom Castle because I was doing the comic missions. Next I quit the game. Went to the New Game feature and chose Hard mode and to start with my save file with all of my previous statistics.

I have the costumes that I was wearing from my save file on whatever characters I choose, but if it was the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th costume then it shows up as locked. I had to play as Spiderman again to unlock his second costume, even though I was already wearing it at the time. Still, when it was unlocked it did at least show that I had the correct stats in place (in this case nearly maxed out). I really don't know what gives. I guess this is better than having costumes be mixed up or the game/my save just obliterated, but still.

I never got the original botched patch. I got the newly released patch last night while I was waiting for the DLC to be available on Marketplace. After seeing that it wasn't happening last night and how late it was, I went to bed. I only DL the DLC around 6-7 PST. This is really aggravating because I really don't care to have to go through the sim discs again. I mean, Ms. Marvel has her Binary costume that I was using for her from before. Iron Man has his Ultimate Costume, but I just can't access any of them and I'm afraid to switch from them or try any other in fear that they'll be totally lost. Does this/Is this the norm or supposed to happen with a new game+?

All my stuff was still there on the new game+. Costumes, unlocked characters, levels, etc. No idea what's going on with your game.
 
Wha-wha-whaaaat? The MUA DLC is FINALLY available??? Shit, I'm downloading this first chance I get.

Not bad, considering I was expecting this to drag on until next month...
 
I am really REALLY loving this again :)

I haven't had any situations in which the game was different due to the new characters...but I'm only in Atlantis..LOL

I died (as magneto) before that fight.. LOL

I'm actually kinda surprised that 8 new characters..and none female.
But when you look at ALL the characters.. you can actually see that there IS room for more...
So when will we see the hero/villain pack #2 with a bunch of females?!?

..Rogue, Psylocke, Jubilee, Phoenix/Jean Grey, Emma Frost (and the fact that all these HAVE been in X-Men Legends 1/2..so they do have the skins for them..)

Oh well.
REALLY hope they add more characters. I'm loving that I'm playing through this game again P)
 
Wow the new characters are awesome. I tried continuing where I left of (somewhere in the middle of the game) and my Villans got their assess kicked as they started in level 1. I had to play a new game to get them leveled up. I don't mind though, I forgot how much fun this game is.

I'd be in for most of these, but Jubilee was useless in XML2. How about Scarlett Witch instead.

I didn't really like being Scarlet Witch. (Also, Jubilee was in the first one, not second)
Jublilee was pretty good once you eventually leveled her up.
 
Just got home from the hospital with my son (I told him the new characters were available, so we was majorly excited).

We raced to my room, downloaded the characters, but the first thing we checked was our items.

Loki's Gift = 25% added something, 25% subtracted something.

[insert Vader-esque "nooo" meme]

Ah well...never thought I'd see the day I'd be majorly bummed that a patch was fixed. :cry:

Yaeh, I don't know why my stuff is re-locked and screwed:cry::cry::cry: Oh well, I'll just keep switching characters in and out of my party like I did last time where I got 90% of the costumes before Doom. It's just a pain in the ass to find the sim discs all over again. fuck it, I'm just going to use a FAQ to find them. Not going to waste my time for costumes that I already had.
 
Heh, I just found a post on GameFAQs that says that if I reload one of my older saves again, then quit (or load up; not sure) and revert to the save file of my new game+ it should fix the costumes/characters from their locked status at the moment. I praying that this works now .

It actually fixed it when I just played. I loaded up one of my last save files, then loaded my current save file and all the characters and costumes were available. All I can say is what a weird fucking glitch. It had me in panic mode. Glad it al worked out in the end.

This DLC is so awesome. It breathes in a ton of new life into the game. I love playing as the new characters I've tried so far. Magneto is simply omnipotent. His metal ball that he throws is just G-dly. I can pretty much let one ball loose and take care of a good 15-20 guys at one time if I herd a bunch of them. Hawkeye isn't bad either. He takes some getting used to, and some powering up of his moves, but once you get adamantium shot going he's a monster. Venom's swing throw is great for clearing out groups, but I can't just help but feel that they dropped the ball on him somehow. I was expecting some different moves than the ones they gave him and some other abilities. He isn't bad, but he could have been worked on a bit more.

The Hulk is just fucking awesome, especially once he gets into his 20s. He simply doesn't die. As soon as he gets close to death, boom! his regeneration kicks in. He hits for 40 in his early 20s for me. He has similar moves to Colossus, but you can tell that Colossus was rushed or something, and Hulk just feels better overall. I don't think I will ever take him out of my party.
