I tell Guardian that he's an assraping clown asshole monkey fucker every night I play with him, but its not his fault he's an assraping clown asshole monkey fucker...its my fault for letting him assrape my clowns and fuck my monkeys....

However there is no excuse for dante....he is 100% Douche-tastic. DIE MOTHERfuckER!!!!

how does lag work in this game, is it temporarily or is it the whole match or is it just... just?

i am pissed because i was on a 4 game winning streak, and the 5th match ends up being laggy in the beginning a 4/5 in terms of lag but it felt weird, like he was going faster, i watched as he did a 56 combo on me and then killed my ryu. funny thing is after he killed my ryu, the lag stopped and the match went on like normal and he finished me off slower.

thanks u based god for making it happen on the one win i need

Hey Joe, do me a favor one day and challenge Phil. He is too afraid to play you because you have a ton of games played and he has like 5.

Ugh....Dante...if the Achievement was "Fight 36 Dante's" as apposed to "Fight one of every character online", I would've gotten the achievement in 40 fights.

Dante intimidates the shit out of me. So many moves... I can usually knock him out when facing him, but hot damn.

Was doing some more missions today, and I found out that A) I suck at timing, and B) for whatever reason my brain has trouble comprehending pulling off all the moves together. Guess it's just a matter of practice. I also find that I only tend to use X-Factor when I remember to use it after the enemy pops it. I'm pretty sick of using my controller for the game, think I'm going to start looking around for sticks.
Videos are up for Jill and Shuma. As well as themes and whatnot.
Jill's theme is amazing. I loved it in RE5, and the remix sounds great.

I'mma use her. Probably in my She-Hulk/X-23 team. If they release a BSAA or STARS uniform, I'll probably buy that.

Shuma looks like he's a lot of fun. His animation is impressive.

Dormammu Mission #10 sucks. I keep whiffing the second j.M after the Spidey assist relaunch. I can hit that air combo no problem the first time, and I can hit it on larger characters, but it won't fucking hit Viewtiful Joe. I can even hit M, H, S perfectly! It sucks because the XFC part of the combo right after it is really easy.

EDIT: Nevermind got it. Now I can do it easy, lol.

I also discovered some new tricks with Hulk/Dorm/Sent today. I can't wait to try them (and have them fail miserably) on Guardian tomorrow :bouncy:.

Tried out more ranked today. 4/5 losses were from X-Factor'd Sentinel. I think I really need to go into the lab and just break him down a bit more. People say he's not overpowered, but I guess that just means I'm terrible at fighting against him more than any other character. It's pretty demoralizing to almost have a One Character Victory, then have each of your characters die in three button presses by your opponent.

On another note, good games to Jackie Chandler!

This game has helped me to discover that I am not very talented at playing video games. I'm having a great time though. I'm obsessed with using Phoenix like an mmo blaster or something - bring her in, X factor, and unleash until she's dead or they are. Just need more practice. Anyone that wants someone to beat up on feel free to look me up on xbl.

I am annoyed by people that just do the same combo over and over again. I realize that's how most everyone plays the game against someone who sucks (since the W column is important), but it's definitely detrimental to learning how to react to multiple different offenses. But that's my problem, not the rest of the world's.

If you're playing Ranked, people are going to do anything and everything to win, so you'll probably see the same combos over and over. Playermatches? Suggest going randoms, or sub teams when playing with friends.

The thing is, the combo isn't a person's offense... that's not what you should be trying to defend against. People are going to perform the most damaging combo possible once they get a hit in. However, you need to watch out for how they got that first hit. That was their offense, whether it be mixup, crossup, pressure string. That's what you need to be paying attention to.

I'll be online tonight, probably before the CAG group meets at nine. Hit me up if you want to play a bit- GuardianE9999

Sent you a friend request, we should flop around the screen sometime. :p

You'll have an infinitely better time playing with buddies or people on here than playing against strangers, especially if you start doing Ranked matches. Spam spam spam.

I have to skip Fight Night tonight as monthly close falls on a Wed. again. I should be in next Wed. for Jill and Shuma night.

Tom and Joe, please find ways around Guardian's Dante and share them with me!

i was playing a player match against not only a sentinel but he was using wesker as wel.

he was good at blocking but he basically punched me as wesker. combo'd me in the air. then brought in sentinel to continue the combo, then as i was falling would kick me and then super.

did it 4 times and then i just turn off console. i wont rage in ranked but this was player :p

how do you combo in the air into another character "WILLINGLY"? i usually just do a 4 hit combo and then fall to the ground? this guy was doing them on command

they should make a mode called NO sentinel mode, would totally change the flow of how people play and win, granted people will just abuse wesker or dante or (doom/magneto) but people will think more outside the box

Here's a small article on Aerial Exchanges http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Marvel_vs_Capcom_3/Systems/Air_Combos:_Aerial_Exchange.

Quick and Dirty answer - during your aerial combo, press forwards or back + special to bounce 'em off the sides, down+special to bounce 'em off the floor, and up+special to bounce 'em higher in the air.

What really sucks about the Zero glitch is that it looks pretty easy to do by mistake, which would get you a disqualification from a tournment. I guess you could just op to never perform Snapbacks while in Zero's Shadow Mode or whatever it is.

The only solace I've found in getting hit into air combos is that people usually launch you against the wall they're facing first, so I tend to get lucky with my Aerial Counters.

GGs last night to Guardian & Joe (and KBurns in HDR).

I should have a more permanent solution for the internet next week. I'm ordering a long ass ethernet cable to run from the office to the Xbox.

Actually, I believe Left and Right count as the same direction for countering purposes.... so it's the most risky maneuver, but it also gives you the most meter (1 bar?). The Aerial Exchanges are annoying since a lot of it is up to chance, but quite frankly your opponent could have probably done much more damage to you off of a launcher if they opted to NOT go for an Exchange. The advantage of Aerial Exchange is the meter gain and character swap. The damage is pretty negligible for the most part.

GG's to you, Joe, and KBurns. And GG's to Shinobi who came on a little later. Your router might be on the fritz. I think mine is, too. I'm looking into getting it replaced in the near future. I know you said that your adapter is now farther away from your router, but the lagginess isn't a consistent delay or anything. It happens in 30 second windows when it's usually fine the rest of the time.

Good game guys! I definitely want to play some MvC 3 sometime but HDR was fun too (especially when it became a T-Hawk pose off).

You know, this is about the 4th time now where I think I discover a solid theory and then it get shot down. All in all, I'm learning, so hey.

I accepted that friend request there Guardian, i just got caught up last night in playing MW2 with some buddies so I didn't check whether you guys were getting a lobby going or whatnot. I have to practice more anyway, I've been very on-and-off with my playing.

We had a lobby going, but I saw you were playing MW2 and didn't want to bother you. Hit me up anytime for games/practice. It's all good fun.

When I started having problems it was with our ISPs modem with built-in Wifi. I was also having problems on the other side of the house with my laptop and Roku box. So then last week I connected it to our Apple Airport Extreme, which helped a little, but not a lot. I bought an Airport Express to extend the wifi range and that has helped with everything else (even Netflix streaming on the Xbox, which went from 1-2 bars to HD). I'm showing 4 bars consistently now but Marvel is still having problems.

The hard wire solved everything so I'm just going to run a really long cable. After I connected that I didn't have any lag on my end.

It seems the problem that was plaguing my internet is solved as well. As of late I haven't had any lag problems. Hope it all ends up working out, Tom.

I don't really see the appeal of a fightpad. Wouldn't it be better to just get a stick? Or is there something I'm missing about it?
I'll bring the Pringles, you bring the scoops..Häagen-Dazs!
Hahah, Tom can bring the Mango Sentinel. I think Shinobi uses Black Sentinel.

Yeah, it's probably better to just get a stick. I use a Fightpad because it's what I'm used to, and I don't really have many execution problems at all (especially for a more lenient game like Marvel). I grew up playing on sticks in the arcade, but once those fighting games made their way to consoles, I've been using controllers. It was a very natural progression to the Fightpad. The biggest issue is that I can't plink or do kara's very well on a Fightpad, and my option-selects are limited because of how many buttons I can press at once.

One day I'll switch over to stick, but not right now. For most people it's a cheaper alternative just because the 360 D-pad is total ass.

I'm the same way. I used to play in the arcades a lot, but once fighting games started coming to home consoles, I played most of them that way. Like GuardianE said, most of the games are pretty lax on input, so the fightpad is GODLIKE compared to the reg. d-pad. It's cheaper and it gets the job done. If I ever want to reach a tournament level of fighting, I'll try and learn a fightstick. For now, my fightpad does just fine :)

Left and Right are both the same direction for countering, but they only give you half a bar of meter, Down gives the most at one bar. Most people I fight tend to do hit me left, down, up, S then super, if I don't manage to guess which way it is.

I'm seeing two people with Morton icons so I need to know what's the joke/reference there? I don't keep up on the fighting game circle in-jokes; I only learned what Pringles/Curleh Mustache was all about when this game came out.

Morton is a salt production company. Being or becoming "salty" refers to someone getting angry, frustrated, and/or bitter about a loss in a fighting game. MtlTom made these nifty avatars.

Haha that's awesome! I got that it was a play on the little girl on the Morton's Salt cans, but I didn't even make the connection to someone being "salty". I wish I had one of these for Dante since I get crap about it every time I pick him.

Ah, a fellow Dante user.

I should probably just change mine to Reuben Langdon, since he does the voice of both Ken and Dante.

You should just gif it, so that it switches between HDR Honda, SFIV Balrog, and MvC3 Sent. Make a Honda one and send it to me. I think I can make it. I think I still have that gif editing software. I'll have to check.

I would do BlazBlue Litchi, SFIV Ken, MvC3 Dante if I get around to it.

If MtlTom feels like adding another blast of sodium to the thread, I'd gladly wear a Haggar Morton avatar. Violent Axe makes people get feisty.

Has anyone been able to complete all the missions with a standard controller? I need hope and to know that it's possible. Whoo man, it gets frustrating trying to do any of those past Mission 5.

DO IT! Hundred Hand Slap with a bit of salt to their eyes

Good games to Tom and Joe, as per usual.

I'm going to try to step my Wesker game up a bit. He has a lot more tools that I'm simply not utilizing since his basic moveset is so good.

thanks to all who have provided advice. today I had my first ranked match victory where I felt like I was in control, so I'm pretty excited to keep practicing. I've finally decided to stick with wesker/hulk/phoenix as my main team. looking forward to trying to make a fight night for a good ol fashioned putting-me-back-in-my-place.
