Mass Effect 2 Discussion - Fight for the Lost
Woah, are they really going to put Wombat in as a Volus?!
I'd sell both my ME1 and ME2 Limited/Collector's Editions, delete my posts from both ME forums, delete all ME information off my 360 HDD, and purge all ME knowledge from my brain if that happened.

Oh.... then, please let it happen!!!

You really wouldn't like it that much if he was just a random character somewhere in it?
You really wouldn't like it that much if he was just a random character somewhere in it?
Correct. I'd also burn my copies of the Redemption comics and my N7 shirt, as well as bomb BioWare Edmonton (while no one was in the building).

And now I get the whole "That Was A Joke" posts I've been seeing recently, having
made it to the Normandy Mk. 2 and running into EDI.

It's all exaggeration for comedic effect.

Don't we all hate the CAGcast?

I agree, you have to be careful with spoiler tags, lest you spoil one of Mass Effect's great secrets, like the fact that
Garrus' father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery, and his mother was a fifteen year old wombat named Chloe with webbed feet.

Yes, be careful of the spoilers....we use them very liberally to talk about end-game stuff. I will just say that exact line is much later on....and fucking hilarious.

Plus, we all know Xecutioner isn't really joking. He just wants to take over their offices and rule the galaxy....or at least play out ME3 using X-wings while sitting on a throne made from the rubble of their offices.

Spoiler: I'm not kidding. fuck you spoiler tag!

I love the CAGcast. Once there was this really awesome episode and I called up my mom and said, "You got to listen to this amazing cagcast" and she came over and listened. True story.

Lies. Nobody listens to the CAG cast. I've always thought that the CAGcast was some kind of Rickroll.

I'm starting my new ME2 run through. I was I could use a little help on choosing a class. I remember there being some good descriptions and buildouts in this thread, but I don't feel like searching through a 160 pages. Someone should move those to the first post.

I've played soldier in both games. I just finished my level 60 vanguard from ME1. I liked playing as the biotic soldier. Unfortunately, I heard that the vanguard is quite different. I started an engineer with armor piercing ammo. I might play that a little longer to see if I like it. Or I might do another soldier with reave. I kind of miss having a sniper rifle and a assault rifle.

Thanks. Right now, I'm thinking I might stay with the engineer. It's starting to grow on me as I go for Mordin.

The Engineer is the best class, hands down.

I'm with DNB here. I love it. I listen to some episodes 2-3 times.

Been putting some more hours into this game lately since I've been ignoring it.

Just finished
all the available loyalty missions and currently doing any available sidequests. I enjoyed the Samara/Morinth confrontation, the use of biotics was badass.

Bioware just updated their online store and introduced a slew of new lithographs.

Illusive Man
.f
Citadel
media.nl
Afterlife
media.nl

FYI, these prints are limited to runs of 300 to 400 copies, which have been signed and numbered by their respective artists. Once sold out, the only way to obtain a copy is by going through the hoarders and resellers via Amazon Marketplace, eBay, etc. For example, prints already sold out are fetching nearly $200 via eBay.

I just picked up a copy of The Citadel and two copies of The Illusive Man. Get them now while they are still available!

I bet that Citadel one goes quick. I'd like to get it, but $36 (including shipping) is a little too steep for me.

Anyone order these lithos before? Can anyone attest to the quality and whether they feel like it really is worth the $30?

Whats the deal with the description of the citadel one?

"187 Lithographs found at BioWare head quarters from the original printing.

It does not however, contain any naked blue aliens. It does however contain the suggestion of many, many naked blue aliens behind all those closed windows. You see where I’m going with this."
What are lithographs exactly? Are they printed on metal? They say they are printed on 100lb paper... I don't get it.
A lithograph is an authorized copy of an original work created by the artist himself or other skilled craftsmen. A lithograph is rarely worth more than the original artwork it reproduces, but if the print quality is excellent and the production numbers are low, it may still have significant value in the art world.

So basically a lithograph is a reproduced work of art. In this case, the work is reproduced on a high quality piece of paper.

Or... fancy poster. ;)
The countdown timer on the official Bioware site is six hours ahead of the timers on the Mass Effect and Dragon Age sites. Oversight, or maybe a big announcement day for Bioware?

EDIT: Looks like it was a mistake. The countdowns are all synced up now.
No big game announcements, but BioWare launched the BioWare Bazaar, a chance to win prizes from the company. Cool thing they're doing for the fanbase, but I want some more Mass Effect info, dammit.

What the cunt-suck? You have to be American to enter the contest?

But...

You're fucking Canadian, you cocks!

*grumble*

Ah, well...

Really? That was what the countdown was about? Ummm... yeah... little bit of a letdown Bioware.

I was hoping the "epic community event" would be that the BioWare community gets to welcome the new addition to the Mass Effect dev team: Tha Xecutioner - Mass Effect Visionary/Advisor

...oh well...

Wow, the official forums are officially the biggest hate-fest circle jerk I've ever seen.

edit: Ha, I posted my link of the forums and people are clicking it like crazy. Gotta love fan boy rage.

Much less BS to deal with. ;)

Ahh I'm gonna have to throttle back my enjoyment of the ability of free swag:
the auction is open to residents of "the 50 United States and the District of Columbia with the exception of residents of Florida and New York." You also need to be 18 or older to participate.

Indeed, there will be auctions. According to the "official rules" it starts on the 5th, but on the Bazaar page, it says it starts on the 6th.

Auctions will be held on or about every 15 minutes starting 9:00:01 AM PDT on Tuesday April 5, 2010 with the last auction closing at 4:00:00 PM PDT on Saturday April 10, 2010. Bidding on an auction and viewing the status of an auction can be done on the auction page found at social.bioware.com/auction. Only Promotion Tokens can be used to bid on items on the Auctions. To participate in an auction you can go to the auction page, enter the amount of tokens you wish to bid and click the Make Bid button during the duration of the active auction.
Also mentions - you can only win two auctions...period. Once you win two you are ineligible to win any more.

That is dumb... everyone has a set amount of points. How is that bidding? There will always be one person that will bid the max amount of points for each thing (since there will be so many people and there is not THAT many prizes).

There are exactly 412 prizes / prize packs - 4 for each of the 103 hours this bazaar will be run.

Token-wise, through game registration and signing up and stuff like that, everyone starts with 5950 tokens. After that, there are only two ways to win tokens...win a Twitter Challenge (up to 100 winners per challenge, 500 token prize) or get clicks through a referral link (10 tokens per click for the first 50 clicks, 1 token per click after...per day). These twitter challenges and referral links will be the wild cards that determine winners.

Still fairly stupid, as the people who win Twitter challenges gain a huge advantage over winning stuff.

Yea exactly, who ever wins the Twitter challenges gets the prizes. No point in an auction type of deal. I only have 5,500 points - I'm sure there are 412 people that have more than me...

Yeah, the only potential way to win is the fact that each auction only goes for 15 mins and not everyone will be able to bid at a given time.
