Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread

Yeah, wasn't blown away by Normandy. If anything, I'd be more inclined to pick up one of the smaller replicas to suspend above the Reaper once it ships.

Edit: Also got my Tali play arts fig in today. She's pretty fantastic quality. Fem Shep should be in soon!
If Dark Horse made that PoS, I'd advise you to stay as FAR away from it as humanly possible. None of their pieces for Mass Effect have been worth the price tag and at this point, they only care about collecting as much money from suckers as possible.
I finally got to the Mass Effect comic books I snagged with Dark Horse's sale a while ago and am really liking them. It's also neat to see the backstory with Shepard's body, the collectors and the Shadow Broker (pivotal cannon).

Agreed. Some of the comics tell near-required pieces of the story or insightful looks into key characters that's just interesting.

You could build your own LEGO Mako and Normandy. Several places list the required parts and instructions to build them. You would just have to buy the lego pieces.

Damn, sorry Chubbs. Guess I shouldn't have told you that. Now, you're going to spend money on Lego pieces just to build your very own Mako and Normandy. Oh well

Honestly, I have looked for build guides and found some but they didn't include the list of pieces require and I am too lazy to figure it out myself. Can you post links??
Uuuuugggghhhh, I so want a lego Mako. You don't even know. The inappropriate amount of money I'd pay for that or Lego Normandy.
Well, be careful, because that mashed potato Reaper you built during Thanksgiving dinner already has your family thinking you have a bit of an obsession.

Plus those holiday cards... "You are having a Merry Christmas because we allow it. You will have a Happy New Year because we demand it."

It seems the website with the instructions for building some LEGO Mass Effect figures is down at the moment. Once it comes back up, I'll post it here. But yeah, people haven't only made the Mako. There's the Normandy SR1, Normandy SR2, M-44 Hammerhead, UT-47 Kodiak, Turian dreadnaught, Alliance dreadnaught, and much more.

My personal favorite was a Normandy SR2 that had the cargo bay and a little UT-47 Kodiak that could fit inside.

Post of the week. Nice!

And, Edge, yeah, I've seen that SR2 with the shuttle. That one is probably the nicest Normandy I've seen.

Lastly, Sim, that Mash 'tato Reaper was badass and you know it! It was the harbinger of our feast and the vanguard of our indigestion.

You guys see the minifigs "Saber Scorpion" has done? These are way more effective than any male enhancement pill you can buy:

Here's his ME photstream that has more minifigs and a Mako:

Man, whatever DLC BioWare is going to talk about next week (if they do) is going to be waaay overshadowed by Destiny and the PS4 announcement.

Yea, I saw that a while ago. I was considering pointing Chubbs in that direction because he has the instructions for building a LEGO Mako on his site, but...

He's charging $14 for it when it should be free. It's also a PDF file which makes him asking for money even more ridiculous. If one was going to build LEGO Mass Effect stuff on their own, I'd just wait for the mocpage to come back online.

EDIT: The Mocpage is back up, but it's loading really slow. I'd give it a couple more days.

Ah, I didn't realize he charged for instructions. I don't begrudge him at all for charging but I also wouldn't recommend buying them either (pretty pricey). His pics of the Mako are good though, you could probably build a pretty close copy from those alone.

I don't begrudge him either. He spent time and effort to create it. What I DO begrudge him for is gouging. Especially for a pdf file. Should be charging closer to 50 cents or $1.

Instead, he charges $14. For a download. Sorry, but GTFO. That's a ripoff and NO ONE should be paying it.

I broke down and finally paid for the Omega DLC, I couldn't wait for it go on sale. I started a new playthru and could someone tell me how early i can access the Omega DLC and Leviathan? I've done Leviathan on my 1st playthru but I was already at the end of the game. Thanks

Leviathan is available almost right away once you have completed a couple missions and returned to the Citadel. Not sure about Omega as I haven't started a fresh playthrough in a while.

AFAIK all of the DLC becomes available after Menae. (You can do Javik's mission right after Mars, but you can't use Javik until after Menae.)

Unless you don't give a damn about either.

Which I don't

What??? Didn't you see the leaked pics of the controller? It has, like, buttons, and a headphone jack and...you know....stuff.

Anyway... Halo v.2.0 looked interesting, but I also want BW to stop teasing and just tell us about this next DLC already. I have MS points burning a whole in my pocket.

At this point, I have zero interest in any of the "next-gen" consoles. Why? Because each one will most likely cost between $300-500. Then you have to buy games. And guess what? If I know Sony and Microsoft, they may try to RAISE the price ceiling to 69.99 per game. Add to it that they may ALL adopt "online bullshit passes" and you're looking at a LOT of money. So...no thanks. I'm happy with my backlog of games and have no need for a new generation of failing systems (gogo Sony/Microsoft engineering).

And Halo 2.0 looks lame. Never really cared about Halo until 343 Industries made Halo 4. Still don't care, really. Might get it when it hits $20.

Point is, I want to see what the next ME3 DLC is. And if it's worth my time or if it's like Omega. Half-assed.

I need the mp dlc soon. It's so hard to save credits up. Around 1.2 million saved up now. I'm not spending any till it drops.

The day dlc drops ultra rare drops are higher FYI.

Also my son will be born around march 20 so I wanna play some new stuff while I can.

Finished ME3 on Insanity. That was stupidly easy. Probably even easier than ME1 on Insanity.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing what BioWare has for the next (final?) DLC.

Congrats!! ME3 on Insanity was fairly easy, all things considered. I always thought ME1 on Insanity was difficult. What was your strategy? I ask because I could see me going for that soon.

Soldier. I've always been a Solider-type in every game I've played. Just something that I naturally gravitate towards.

Fire explosions. Everywhere. On everyone. On everything. I basically got rid of Adrenaline Rush from my hotbuttons and switched it out for Energy Drain.

That was pretty much it.

Oh yes, I should mention that I downloaded the Firefight Pack. Used the Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle (was tempted to use the Bloodpack Executioner pistol because it's insanely powerful, but eh). Personally, in ME3, I've had more fun testing, firing, and growing my tiny arsenal of weapons (from the weapon DLC packs) than I've had from any of the story DLC. Which is sad.

ME1 was kind of straight forward. Yes, I was a Soldier there too. Immunity and the most powerful shotgun you can get your hands on. Then just modified it to do MASSIVE damage. One hit, one kill. In a shotgun.

Thank you, Sony! That was one of the worst conferences I have ever seen and there were no surprises. Nor were there answers to important questions, like...How much? Will it block used games? What does the console look like? Now I'm REALLY looking forward to the next ME3 DLC.

The Citadel DLC sounds almost too good to be true. Pretty pricey, but if there's a ton of squadmate interaction, I am totally in. I'm excited! I get to kill shit with Wrex again! :bouncy:

Wow! This DLC sounds amazing! The squad is in it! Character and romance stuff! A house for Shepard! I am impossibly excited for this!

I shot Wrex in the face though!

Can be pretty exciting if it matches their description. Hopefully it's not "reconnect with your friends by using this terminal to read up on them!" like Shadow Broker.

Have my fingers crossed for this one.

Oh. My. Everything sounds awesome and a total love letter to the fans. The image posted on Facebook says it all.....Shepard surrounded by the crew, with a smile on his face, ready to kick ass. I don't care about the cost, gotta get this minute 1, forget day 1.

Odd no mention of co-op story missions or new hazard maps. We'll see.

If Jack can be on my team, I will probably get it, but that price is absurd. There better be quite a bit of gameplay, several hours at least (5 or more, which I highly doubt) to make the price of admission worth it.

I just noticed that Miranda is there with the squad in the first pic. :) And Vega and Liara are in new casual outfits in the other one. This is going to be so cool.

Tomb Raider just got bumped.

Sounds like it's going to be a great set of DLC, assuming it lives up to the hype.

We had a lot of hype for Omega and then think we were a bit let down on it when people played through it. I've not hit it yet, mainly because people here were saying to wait until it goes on sale.

Hopefully, this will be a great DLC expansion and well worth the money. If it's the last SP DLC then it certainly should have it go out with a bang.

Was there a lot of hype for Omega? I know I didn't have much and the few times I looked at the BSN forums seemed about the same (not surprising given the hate they have for the ending), I didn't think many here were incredibly hyped either.

citadel dlc will be two downloads thanks to xbox dlc size limits

bring on Reckoning, I've got 2.6 million saved up and hoping to get a lot more by Tuesday

Some tweets from Mike Gamble

Fun Fact. The Citadel for xbox is split over TWO DLC packages. It's nearly 4 gigs in total.

@MrChr15topher both are required to play. one will be a free download, and the other will be $15

...and most importantly:

We're also extremely privileged to have worked with the late Robin Sachs on the Citadel DLC. #ZaeedForever

fuck you.

I'm not huge on the Killzone franchise, but watch the first part of this video and just imagine what Thessia, Illium, and the Citadel could look like in the next Mass Effect game... Wow.
More appropriately, we should be looking at battlefield 4 at e3 to have a guess at the next ME game.

BSN is so far from reality. they're nutty beyond belifer.

I guess at 4GB, it makes itself the 800lb gorilla of DLC. Let's hope there's 3-4 hours of content in there, though I'd guess 2GB of it is the old ME1 & ME2 DLC characters being brought into ME3.

Nice that they did get some last voice work from Robin Sachs before he passed. I guess it'll be his swan song.

Ahuh ahuh I'm liking what I'm hearing actually.

To everyone on the internet that keeps bringing up well what does it matter it doesn't change the ending, if it wasn't a ME DLC that wouldn't be a thing. You understand how awesome that complaint is?

tumblr_m90x3oSbVi1rp6xcfo1_250.gif

Every Mass Effect fan getting this DLC.

I'd say there was definitely some hype. People kept going on and on about how it should've been in the game because someone found deleted dialogue. Things like that. The sad thing is that the DLC didn't live up to the hype (even if there was only a little bit).

In any case, I'm pretty excited for the Citadel DLC. Reconnecting with old friends from ME1/2 sounds great. Not a big fan of the price though. $15...that's pretty greedy. However, since it will be that price, the content had better be longer than 2-3 hours. Still feeling REALLY burned by the Kasumi DLC from ME2 because if you know what you're doing, the DLC takes less than 30 mins, even on Insanity. If you don't, it's still much less than 2-3 hours.

Also, if this is going to be the last DLC, it's not a bad way to go. Had a teeny-tiny hope they'd ret-con the the ending, but whatever. Let's just go out with a bang (and then a whimper with the ending).

I'm a ME fan (platinumed all 3, got best of best in MP, have tons of litographs) and I'm not getting this DLC. I'll wait until I can get all DLC on disk or there's a big bundle sale. I'm being cheap on them because of how they ended ME3.
