Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread
As a matter of fact, I never have read one of your posts until the first one I quoted. I dont intend to read another one either.
Well then keep your eye rolls to yourself. Cause you obviously don't know what you are talking about.
All endings are basically Renegade in some way.

Control: You're siding with The Illusive Man. Pretty much speaks for itself.
Synthesis: You're forcing something on everyone (also, because starbrat told you "it was the logical thing to do"). Free will just got spaced.
Destroy: You killed EDI. The Geth. "Hey, EDI! You're an individual that makes her own choices!" "Hey, Legion! You're an individual and you sacrificed yourself to help make your kind sentient!" Yeah, about all that...

Actually, now that I think about it, the only one that isn't really Renegade (sort of) is the ending where BioWare spits in our face: Shooting starbrat or Rejection ending. According to the game, you basically gave it your best shot and it didn't work out. No one was forced into doing anything. Everyone died fighting for what they believed in. That's kind of Paragon-ish
I like to imagine a whole squadron of Geth Elites building a Quarian nursery on Rannoch or something and just shutting down. Crashing the whole building down on a room full of Quarian babies.

Cut to Shepard. "It was worth it."

Rough.

Remember all those
quarians who were getting their immune system boosted by the geth? Wonder if they all died in the destroy ending...

You know how much trouble you would get with a time machine. Well if you use the Crucible you're pretty much gonna f everybody's lives up no matter what you do. lol

Whoa. I think I've seen that concept art of the Citadel before. The krogan w/ insane warhammer thing... not so much.

ETA: Yeah, no. I think the concept art I'm thinking of was this. According to BSN that new pic is an in-game screenshot.

Other than the EC, what's been the longest wait between initial tease/reveal and release for DLC? I don't know what these are, but I want them. Now.

And how'd that Krogan get a brute hammer from Halo??

That krogan looks an awful lot like Wrex...

Please be hanging out at strip club with Wrex and Grunt DLC.

Casey Hudson says this location is "a nice place for some R&R." Chances are that's a joke, and it'll be a place where we shooty-shoot some Cerberus and then never visit again. But wouldn't it be amazing if it did add a new permanent hub and some squadmate interaction. I swear, I would so pay for a "hangout" DLC with no combat and all dialogue.

Even if it was something along the lines of the Shadow Broker ship from ME2, that would be a nice bonus.

Also makes me wonder how much more we'll get post-release DLC, assuming this tease is for DLC #3 (Leviathan, Omega and new DLC).
if that krogan is mp dlc can't wait till pug groups are full of those getting sync killed
It took one sync kill for me to go look up online which enemies can do it and what their patterns are.

I wish people were more intuitive.

Much obliged, time to get the DA2 stuff.

Also just re-upped gold, might be time to start playing multiplayer (first time since beta) now that I'm way behind and everyone else's interest is waning

It's worth it, even at 800 msp. Javik's hilarious pessimistic statements will go a long way to making you smile.

Personally, BioWare should've included "From Ashes" in every new copy as a "thank you" to the fans.
Heh heh. Between From Ashes, the N7 Valkyrie, and the N7 hooded sweatshirt, that CE was so worth it.
Built-in audience from the ME1 LE / ME2 CE owners, of course.

Amen. So much superior to the ME 1/2
CE.

Don't worry about it. The bonus disk was reprinted with more stuff added in the P.H. version, and the sample art book in there is just a small portion of what's in the hardback art book packaged with the strat guide.

All your missing is the Gears 1 style oversized steel tin and a tiny history of the universe book that's contents I'm sure are on the ME wiki.

It's overpriced to try to pick it up now b/c of its scarity (GameStop.com exclusive) as it sells used for $150-$200 online.
I don't have ME1 LE #-o
I almost didn't either, though that was on GS for nearly screwing up my order.

It's one of my favorite CEs, even though it's not a real steebook and just a metal case.

I don't know......the ME1 CE is one of my prized possessions. I love that thing. Not that it's anything special or a very good CE. It's just, you know, Mass Effect 1. Thus it's awesome.

As for From Ashes, it's required at any price. THe content it adds is necessary for the dialogue on Thessia alone (no spoilers just cuz I'm a swell guy.)

That's why I stopped playing and decided to wait for a sale on it.

Now I'm wondering if I should not finish the game before picking up Leviathan? I hear it adds to the fiction enough that it makes the ending better.

I wish I had a :360: CE of ME1 or 2. I do have the ME2 PC CE, which was much cheaper and less rare, and the DLC codes worked for 360 as well, so that was a pretty good deal.

FWIW I would say just go for it now. From Ashes adds so much content to the overall game that I would recommend replaying the game to fully experience it. Leviathan, while really good, is just a standalone mission and you're not missing anything by just playing it later.

Really just the fact that you're going to have the Extended Cut as your first experience of the ending is going to radically improve your experience over those of us who beat the game before the EC.

It had never occurred to me, but I can't imagine playing the game without From Ashes in terms of the story. Makes it kind of crappy all new copies didn't come with it.

And with the EC, I think it exposed some of the absurdity in the original ending in how they had to patch it up. However, playing it that way fresh may not be so bad.

I've said it before, but plot issues aside, my biggest problem with the original ending was the lack of information. It wasn't even really an ending, more like the game just stopped in mid-thought without revealing anything about what happened or what it meant. I think anyone would agree that the Extended Cut addressed the basic issue of revealing what happened at the end of the story. Now, whether that ending was satisfying in terms of plot is another question.

Well, at least it wasn't KOTOR2.

No you need to play through Leviathan if you're on your original ME 3 play through. The fiction reveals are that groundbreaking.

So f'n true man, it's the origins, it's where it all started (with a nice little codex book to compliment it too). My ME1 CE holds a special place in my gaming heart for sure (prob because I paid too much to have it day 1). So not only am I a CAG but I'm also a MECE WHORE (Have ME1,2,&3 CEs) hahaha, and for ME1 and 2 - since I lived out in the boonies then - I paid a shit ton on shipping to get it launch day. Was it all worth it in the end? \\:D/ Hell yes

Patch out today that is supposed to get rid of missile glitchers.

Also info in patch confirming the dlc rumors. http://www.clevernoob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2703-datamining-todays-patch-dlc-info-incoming/

"So, I just got my paws on the patch 1.05.
Stuff found so far:

- Assault rifle, shotgun and sniper rifle ultra light materials (probably primarily for multiplayer).
- Most of the recent single player DLC weapons are getting added to multi player.

There'll be more exciting stuff shortly I hope, I've just scratched the surface ;)"

Man, they STILL haven't figured out how to stop missile glitchers? They're the main reason I stopped running Platinum (and probably fell out of the mp overall.) I enjoyed the free credits as much as the next guy, but that got boring fast.

Otherwise, the idea of Ultralight Materials for my shotties and snipers sure does sound nice.
I really wish I had an ME1/2 CE for 360. Really regret missing the boat on them previously. But at least I got the ME3 CE.
Don't know how far down you have to go on the sellers list to find a complete copy, but used ME 2 CE on 360 start at around $20 bucks on Amazon. Just forget about ME 1 though.

I'm far too picky on CE's though to settle for anything less than new. I'll probably pick up the PC CE at somepoint.

A new/sealed copy of ME1 CE is going to cost you upwards of $500. No joke. You're better off accepting that you're going to spend around $120 on a 'previously owned by an adult' copy and need to be diligent in your search until you find the right one. Then ask a bunch of questions and make sure you're seeing real picks of the actual item. That's what I did and eventually came upon one that is darn near perfect for $100 on ebay. That was about 2 years ago.

I did some plat last night and ran into some good groups. Saving all credits for when the dlc hits.
