Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread

This trilogy is the main reason I bought a newer 360 console in 2012, so I'd have a newer, more reliable (fingers crossed) machine to keep my game and saves safe.

[insert requisite jizz in my pants .gif]

Nice find, Blue! Although, I'd like a super ultra mega definitive edition and not just a port. But it will be bought.

I was thinking about that....They'd have to set up ME3 MP servers and everything.  A port of ME1, ME2 and ME3 single player would be easy enough, I suppose.  Now that I think of it, I recall something about Bioware contracting with another, smaller, developer a few months back.  I imagine it could be on a project like this.

Heh, I wonder how into ME3 Co-op I'll get again?  It would be a lot of time to rebuild all that gear again and I bet the community wouldn't be as big for a rerelease like this.  This will be interesting.  That is if it isn't the pipe dream of some crazy hype grabbing Chilean sumbitches.

I also heard the news but that site's apparently not the best in respectable sources go though.

Wow I cant believe the shit talk on the Internet about this, very contrary of our thread here, yet everyone goes praise Naughty Dog for bringing The Last of Us, one game which came out a year ago, to the next system.
Yeah I don't know why people get so work up about these remakes or bundle collection. I think remakes of any games are just awesome even if it is just a bundle collection. Nothing wrong with it especially if you never played the game before and most of the time you get the dlc too. If you don't want it, don't get it! Don't like the price, wait for a price drop! How simple is that? Just because you don't want it, doesn't mean I or everybody else isn't interested in it.

I would totally buy the trilogy again for the X1. I seem to get the bug to replay it at about every six months, so it definitely would not sit idle.

As for the co-op, I'd be bummed about losing my unlocked characters and gear, but it would be fun earn it all back. I'm sure the population of players would be sparse, but all you need are 2 or 3 like minded friends and you're going to go. Not sure if they'd bother with it for a port though.

I may be mistaken, but doesn't the BioWare website track all of your multiplayer unlocks? If they've got the data linked to your BioWare/EA account, it should be simple to transfer everything when you sign in on the new console.

You mean between 360 and PS3 currently? I think it would, yes. My guess is that the reason the same account has completely separate lists of unlocks for each console is because of Microsoft's closed-system policy. Or maybe that's just the way BioWare decided to organize things. There's no technical reason that you couldn't sign in on the PS3, it sees that you've previously unlocked Collector Rifle IV or whatever on the Xbox 360, and unlock it for you on the PS3 too.

EA didn't let it go that way, since the CE unlocks for ME2 on 360 did unlock some of them on PC, though not all of them. Weapon packs didn't unlock between PC and 360.

No reason why you couldn't do it, save EA getting more money out of you.

Though redoing it again on PS4/XB1, makes me wonder what engine they would use. Frostbite 3? Something else that is on both 360/PS3 and XB1/PS4?

Hehe going back to my Insanity run and heading to Omega with Aria.

I was surprised how easy Omega was on my Insanity run. I've heard it's supposed to be one of the more challenging sections.

Still trudging along on my own Insanity run, just did Thessia last night. Kai Leng goes fast when he's against my level 60 Shep and squad :D. Now doing Leviathan, couple side quests (monestary and 1-2 N7 quests) then I'll do Horizon and the end sequence.

It's crack, that's the thought that popped into my head as I was grinning from ear to ear playing my Lvl 40 Sentinel's Insanity build on Tuchanka ripping enemies apart left and right. Seriously Garrus and Liara as my wingman and haha this is great sequence. First set of actions I target an enemy, strip their shields with Overload, finish off their shield with Garrus' Overload and then Liara's Singularity has them helpless in the air. Follow it up with a Throw or Warp combo and BOOOOM biotic explosion, music in my ear holes due to the awesome base from my no-name stereo headset. Find a target that's susceptible for Cryo Blast, hit it and then I use Garrus' Carnage that deals 50% more damage to frozen stuff and damage hurt a plenty. Mind you this entire time I'm still buffed with the Sentinel's godly Tech Armor. I upgraded a bunch of my weapons, applied their upgrades on the work bench, must have taken like 30 minutes to go through all of them, and I can just drop enemies now -- recently just ran with the Hornet and Talon. (I ran past, and combat rolled, past all the Reaper Brutes and activated both hammers completing that section lol.) I completely dropped a squadron of Cerberus troops, including a Phantom, with a combination of a Lift Grenade and Aria's Flare last night where I so with I could have said "Xbox Record That!"

The Mass Effect fire is relit, I don't want to finish or get to the end because then it'd be over. I can so see myself replaying all three games again, haha my name is Mike and I have a problem, I'm addicted to Mass Effect.

Former BioWare community manager Chris Priestly recently addressed the game's marketing schedule and eventual release via a post on BioWare's official forum. Qualifying his thoughts with a disclaimer that he didn't know anything about the game's current schedule, he did say that he had been privy to "a few details" before he departed the company in July 2013.

"I would guess that BioWare wants the focus of 2014 to be on Dragon Age: Inquisition," he wrote. "DA2 was not loved by all fans *cough*, but it was an important step going from DA:O to what DA:I looks to be.

"As such, and to ensure that DA:I will allow for much more DA content to come in the future (DLC for DAI, DA4/5/6 or whatever they get called, ancillary products, etc), I think this year's E3 will heavily push Inquisition to the press and gamers. To announce whatever the next ME game is called at E3 would dilute BioWare focus.

"I do hope Aaryn or Casey drop a few hints, but I really doubt there will be any teasers, trailers or even substantial news interviews about MENext. Given that for some fans the last memory of the trilogy was a negative one, I think BioWare will want to really wow prospective ME fans to pay attention to a new title right out of the gate, rather than announcing a few details or teaser trailer, then going dark while DA:I takes center stage."
:whistle2:x  :twoguns:

Well, that's a real virtual kick in the nuts if we don't get any ME info at E3 2014.  Seems less likely we'll be getting ME4 in 2015 if that's the case.

I don't want it to be rushed, I want it to be right.

If they didn't reveal ME4 news for those reasons, that would be a disappointment.  Think better of people, have a little more faith.

.... says the guy who works in HR and lost faith in humanity years and years ago.  :wall:

Seriously, though, Priestly doesn't have real info to work on and this is 100% speculation.  I think we'll hear something in 2014.  If not E3, maybe Gamescom or at the latest the VGA's or whatever they're called now.

OK watched the original Star Wars trilogy today and liked some easter eggs. Well they're not intentionally hidden stuff but after playing the Mass Effects you go oh hey. Like the part where Vader steps onto the platform to communicate with the Emperor ala Shepard talking with the Illusive Man in Mass Effect 2 or the inspiration of Cloud City had on Omega's design. The similarity of the one spaceship that can go up against the odds, Millennium Falcon and the Normandy and the original bad guy Saren who could potentially be saved with the help of reason. That and the final fleet battle in both, ahhh yeah today was a good day.

speaking of easter eggs, what are you guys' favorite easter eggs in the ME series?  Personally I got a good chuckle out of the Asgard system in ME1 and ME3

Not my favorite show but Mass Effect related on this week's IGN's Up at Noon.

http://www.ign.com/videos/2014/05/05/mass-effects-lasting-impact-up-at-noon

Interview starts around the 5 minute mark, haha that guy is great. Didn't know he was in some stuff, heading to IMDB now lol.

Might have been posted a few pages back, but Miranda is supposed to be playing a highly lethal assassin on the new season of 24.

Just in case anyone is interested...

I saw that, IGN had an article with her about the CIA from Chuck and the CIA from 24 but I just skimmed the headline in my news feed.

OOOOOOOKKKK, beat the Rannoch mission and by god I f'n hate that end sequence. I literally was tearing apart the Geth with ease before this part. Singularity, Warp, Singularity, Throw, BOOM BOOM! haha Played as Renegade so I got a different set of characters and what not. Kind of bummed Tali wasn't in this universe and that Legion, or so called Legion, was just a "holographic blah blah". God, the game is so good and then Bioware does shit like that, and just "cloning" the Rachni Queen where it's like oh you do all these important events but in the end they couldn't figure out a way to give everyone, even people who didn't play previous titles, the way to experience them. In Mass Effect 2 I funded the medical equipment to cover up my scars but in Mass Effect 3 my face is almost as bad as Garrus'.  :)

finished up Horizon and all side stuff tonight.  Man, I wanted to have Miranda die but the way they do it is just so damn clunky...no way my Shep could be stupid enough to let her die (warned her about Leng and gave her Alliance resources, for the record)

Yeah I'm collecting all the artifacts, about to do that mission for my Insanity run. Contemplating on whether to do the Leviathan DLC again first though. I know they changed it but I figured I'd do some multiplayer to boost my galactic readiness. Then got into a group and a guy wouldn't shut up about how awesome glitching his character is. Back to the single player. lol

Mass Effect 3 Insanity run is OVER!!!

Definitely not as challenging as ME2's was but still an accomplishment.  Feels good to have all 3 Insanity achievements under my belt!

Oh, and I chose Destroy with my ParaGade Shep.  Dead Reapers are how we win this war...

Awesome, great work. I decided to do Leviathan again so my Insanity playthrough is still cookin'. When I get to the end I'm totally controlling the Reapers, mainly because this is my Renegade character and well I have never done that action. Still think they mindfucked us there with the colors being reversed.

Eternal, Infinite, Immortal. Renegade Insanity Mass Effect 3 playthrough complete, 2 achievements unlocked, 100%. My god, what a f'n series.

Legitimately one of my favorite things about the ending. Think for yourselves!
We're in the minority, Action. Even among the Mass Effect hardcore. It was some existential shit on a whole new level.

And your "think for youse selves" quote immediately out the song Third Eye by Tool in my head. Nice. :)

I dont think I ever told you guys, I met a guy at one of the Mass Effect panels at PAX East who said he picked Synthesis for the ending because "green is my favorite color"
