Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread
The official date for the demo (originally scheduled to be revealed tomorrow at CES) apparently got leaked early on YouTube. It's 2/14, but we'll know how concrete that is tomorrow. Either way Bioware never ceases to disappoint me.
WHAT. THE. fuck I'm a certified Bioware nut and fanboy, but this sucks. This should have been out early to mid January. Kind of makes me wish I had jumped on the leaked demo now.
3 weeks before first baby here. Feels good man.
Congrats man!! Don't let babies intimidate you or make you feel like you can't play games. When my first was on the way, I thought that was it......end of gaming. I game now more than ever. I remember having my first sleeping on me when I was playing ME1, then my second sleeping on me while playing Lost Odyssey, and most recently, my third baby sleeping on my shoulder while I beat Bastion. Now my 6 year old and 3.5 year old are little gamers (and I swear I didn't push them into it). I have some fun and fond memories of gaming with my kids now.

Thanks! Luckily after ME3, halo 4 will be the only must have for me so far looking at next year, so I'll have free time for her.

Congrats! I'm jealous of the bit of downtime you'll have, but not of being responsible for a child. :p
LOL. The Game Informer vid got taken down a while ago so that's all the evidence I need. So sad.
Uh... the demo is missing its targeted month by a few weeks, and it's "sad?" Is it really THAT big of a deal? Yeah it sucks and I'd like to play it asap, but a short delay really isn't worth grabbing your torch and pitchfork over.

Uh yeah... no serious business on my side of the web to speak of here. If that were the case I'd have copied and pasted one of the many TL;DR tear drenched angry nerd rants I'm sure are scattered throughout the bowels of the internet. Truthfully I can't say I'll be losing any sleep over the news or threatening to cancel any nonexistent preorders. I just found the whole situation mildly disappointing and a bit humorous in general given their track record for announcements. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm staying away from the campaign demo(if it really is the opening sequence), I want my first night with Mass Effect 3 campaign to be a completely new experience. Also, I am not playing with "stock" Shepard, and I am not sure that the demo will see my save file to access the awesomeness that is my Shepard(not sure how to make the image smaller, sorry).
What if there are in game bonus items for playing demo?
There's an armor and weapon set you get in ME3 for playing the KoA demo, and something similar in KoA for playing the ME3 demo.

I wish you could publish your Shepard online the way you can publish your Dragon Age characters. I'm pretty happy with the likeness I made. Of course, no custom character I've created in an RPG has ever looked as much like me as one of the KOTOR presets which randomly looks exactly like me.

So with it coming out on the 14th how soon will people that bought battlefield be able to play the demo? is it 48 hours or a week?

Ugh, I'm still on the fence about getting one of those Normandy replica's. I know they're small, and the paint quality is questionable, but I still want one of those damn things. I hear there's a code that comes with it, anyone know what that gives?

I believe in February (or possibly March, I would have the check my comics preview books) there will be a pure silver replica version of it released. Of course, it will cost like an extra 20-30 bucks, but it looks pretty sweet.

I agree with you. I want my first ME3 moments to be the game as a whole. I know the demo will be just fine, so no biggie for me.

They have a huge crush on Casey Hudson and this is their love letter to him?

They have a huge crush on Yvonne Straharski and this is their way to spend quality time with her?

They have a huge crush on Tha X and they know that he wouldn't do anything else except play the ME3 demo?

The possibilities are endless......
Tons of new campaign and multiplayer footage (it's at different points throughout the episode):

Only real bit of "news" is that Vega is voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.
Catering to the female ME gamers? I listened to his voice-over, and it seems machoed up from his normal speaking voice. I don't know that he lends anything unique though. Maybe they just want service from his name? My guess is that if there are any other big names, they would have said something by now. I remember thinking Thane was voiced by Keifer Sutherland for a bit

Yeah, it does seem like an odd choice-- Mr. Sarah Gellar is not an actor to whom you'd readily apply adjectives like tough, burly, and macho. I'm sure the name recognition factor didn't hurt, though even with that, is Freddie Prinze Jr. a recognizable name to anyone under 30 or so? I honestly don't even know what he's been up to since his '90s movies. Has he done voice over work before?

Looks like he's had moderate success doing some TV roles and direct to TV movies. She says he's a fan though, so maybe it's a situation where bethesda found out Matthew Perry was a fan so they had him do VO?

That would be pretty cool if he was the one who approached them about being involved with the game. Every actor gives lip service to liking the game they're in but I have some respect for a dude like Ice-T who's not only a good actor but also a huge, genuine Gears of War fan.

If anyone else is Expertzone, you can get the Demo for 360 early.

Mission Summary: A new Mass Effect 3 training course launches today, and we encourage you to take it! After taking the course, you'll be able to speak to the game's new features, discover key why to buys, and see for yourself how much better the game is with Kinect. As your mission reward, you will be given a chance to play the Mass Effect 3 demo on Xbox LIVE before almost everyone else on Planet Earth! Because you're an ExpertZone member, we're giving you a chance to get your hands on the demo first and to experience the next chapter of one of the biggest action RPGs of all time, fully enabled with Kinect commands!

claims when you finish, you will get a code in February to dl it early. And limited to the first 62,500 takers. no idea on the amount of expertzone members, but I received the email yesterday afternoon. so if you don't want to play on valentines day, here's your chance. or just to gloat to your ps3 ME playing friends.

We'll see how it plays out across the game besides the teaser on GTTV.

What's worse, that, or Twisted Metal, Blazblue, UFC, and EA's tennis game coming out the same day?

Biggest things since the 90's were the Scooby Doo movies with Sarah, a self-titled sitcom that failed, and being a key cast member in the final season of 24.

Freddie Prinze Jr. eh? For some dumb reason, because it just strikes me as an odd choice to be voicing what I take as a 'dudebro' character, I like it.

I just had a thought about demo day....I mean Valentines day. I should come home with some flowers and chocolates and my wife will be all "aaaawwww" and I'll say "no, these are for Liara" and march downstairs to my 360. Heh, I don't think that'll go over too well. Actually, I think I'm joining the minority that may not play the single player portion of the demo. I'd like to save that for 3/6. I've tried to stay spoiler free, so that will be the ultimate test. I'ma play the hell out of the MP part of the demo though!!

The rest don't matter from what you mentioned.

He was OK in the final season of 24, better than most people expected him to do in the role.

FYI there's a financial incentive for downloading/playing the demo also. 1 person is going to win over $300 in Allards (25k points) and 300 others are getting $15 in Allards. There's a rotating ad on the dash about it.
