Per the mods on the BSN, the new required EMS (locked in at the start of the Cronos Station mission) to "see all of the scenes" in the Extended Cut (read, presumably,
Shepard lives
) is 3100. So, that's 6200 War Assets with no multiplayer/Datapad, or 3100 War Assets with 100% Readiness from multiplayer/Datapad.
Oh, sick. I should be good then. Thanks for the heads up, man.

Have to fire up PT #1 and see what I'm at, and I think I'm there if I remember correctly. I should be be somewhere over 7K, as I know I'm close to 5K on PT #2 and I have a number of N7, side/hub and priority missions to complete.
Interestingly enough, in regards to Garrus, the art team actually put a lot of time and effort into studying angles and facial structure that females find appealing during his concept phase. It's a hard sell just looking at him, but I feel like his overwhelming female fanbase lends a good deal of credibility to their studies.

Also, Batman.
Haha I want to use Also Batman in any intelligent conversation or statement. ;)

Yeah Garrus and his angular structure = one tough badass (chiseled human chin/jaw comparison).

Gibbed (the creator of Gibbed's Save Editor for ME2 and 3 on the PC) seems to have info on the Extended Cut, and it has given me hope.

EXTENDED CUT SPOILERS:
They've added at least one new ending.
This new ending rules.
Don't reveal the further spoilers unless you REALLY want to be spoiled.
Child: Your time is at an end. You must decide.
Choice: I reject these choices!
Shepard: I fight for freedom, mine and everyone's fight. I fight for the right to choose our own fate.
Shepard: And if I die, I'll die knowing that I did everything I could to stop you. And I'll die free.
Child: So be it.
Child: The cycle continues.

There's more to it, I don't want to spoil it completely.

I happened to have We Face Our Enemy Together while reading this and it gave me chills. I'm getting my hopes up, and I don't like it. I don't want to get burned again, but I can't help but get excited after reading this.
Arikado, if you have hope it won't be a trainwreck, then maybe we're in luck after all.
Take everything with a fuckton of salt. I have no idea how Gibbed has this information. Like I said, I'm still fully expecting to get burned, but if this turns out to be legit, the ending is already better than it was before. How better remains to be seen.

I think I'm just going to hold out till all are on YouTube. I really don't want to play the last part of the game over again.

Obviously there's going to be a couple out there that will hit it tomorrow without much deviation, and we'll get some feedback pretty quickly.

Hopefully you won't get burned, though we won't know fully until tomorrow.

I expect a report from Tha X come 6-8AM CT tomorrow morning. :D

I get this really AWFUL feeling that he's just trolling the community and that the reality is that it won't have anything like that. AT ALL.

I reject hope and replace it with "reserved judgement".

What time does the marketplace usually show up with this stuff? I would like to start downloading this and Dawnguard ASAP.

5:30 - 6:00am Eastern

And if that spoiler is true
cop out. Bioware adding an ending that basically every complaint video authored would once again show their lack of caring for the overall product.

Yes, it would be a cop out. But I'd find it a good cop out. It was an ending that should've been in there since the ENTIRE series inception.
I expect a report from Tha X come 6-8AM CT tomorrow morning. :D
I would only expect a report from me if the ending is acceptable or, dare I say, good.

If there's no significant improvement in the ending, then take my probable silence as "dude must've drank himself into a deep depression or coma".

Ugh, forgot about EMS. Need to squeeze in a few rounds of that and load up my save. Cannot wait until tomorrow. It's redemption time....or epic trollface time. I'm excited for the first time in months.

You shouldn't need to stress galactic readiness much at all... The number got lowered to 3100 instead of 4000 for the highest ending. (Fired up and checked, my 1 playthrough was real thorough and I just barely make it at 50% readiness.... and I have 300 points from promoting in the MP. (Which isn't allot but still a fair amount.)

Anyhow, I'll be downloading it (and ready for my disappointment this morning) and will drop a link into the thread for the DLC if someone doesn't beat me to it when it becomes available.
Wow man! How did you find that? Its still not showing on the website to me outside of your link.

I was just coming in here to say I found it by digging into the ME3 stuff...

Anyhow, downloading...
Not really sure lol. Just logged into my account on Xbox.com, went to the search bar, typed in Mass Effect 3 and searched under games. 51% complete!

Its a slow download because its a huge ass file. I got it going then left for work. I was going to have my wife download it for me but I'm glad I don't have to bother her with it now.

I was right about one thing, they added
a slideshow of sorts
.

I did the
synthesis ending
and it is more elaborate. They show you how
the synthesis process takes place, and what the synthesized characters now look like. Green waves of energy courses through the circuits in their skin and their eyes are green.

There was one very effective scene before the credits. They show you the crew
placing Shepard's name on the wall of fallen crew members.
I'm cynical as hell but that was pretty cool.

Just saw the synthesis and refusal endings. The other two have yet to make it to YouTube. I have to say that from what I saw from the both of them I like them and I'm glad this was done. I think it should have been done in the first place and I don't think Bioware would have had the issues they had.

EDIT: Just saw the Control and Destroy endings. I feel the same for these two as I did the others. They are what they should have been from the begging.

this is my exact feeling. got it downloading now... but im here at work

For anyone that has played through: How many bits of player history are conveyed? Are there little cutscenes or whatever based on previous decisions? I'm sorta dragging my feet now that the day is here, and it's gonna be hard not to watch these new endings, being in front of a computer and unable to play all day.

Well, I decided to watch the new Synthesis, Control, and
Refusal
endings. I'll save Destroy for when I play tonight, since that's what I actually chose on both of my characters. Thoughts:

All in all, okay. The little glimpses of the different characters and societies rebuilding were pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.

Synthesis still seems like a magical perfect utopia with no explanation, but whatever. Clearly BioWare thinks the whole Synthesis idea is just so awesome man.

I actually kinda liked Control a bit more than before, I still feel like it conflicts thematically with pretty much the entire series up to that point (the Illusive Man... was right all along? Uh, NO), but I liked that AI-Shepard seemed to have this little edge of menace and otherness to it. I didn't feel like he was totally benevolent and that everything was automatically going to be okay. It was a little unsettling. That was good.

Refusal... yikes. It was good in itself, but seems like a big slap in the face to fans from the writers. "Don't want to play by the Catalyst's rules? Fine, now you have the option... AND YOU LOSE." This is not going to make people happy.

I'm still hoping that the Destroy/Shepard survives ending has some kind of extra hint toward a reunion with the squad and LI. But I don't have my hopes up too high.

And one major change I noticed. The green and blue signals no longer damage the Normandy. That's not a "clarification," that's a straight-up retcon. Either the Normandy's engines exploded or they didn't. :) It also serves to make the "Eden" scene make a little less sense now, if that was possible. So the beam didn't blow up the Normandy, but they still traveled to and landed on a mystery planet in another system... just because?

It essentially calls people stupid for ever thinking that was an option. At least the voice changed at the end to show star brat is a reaper.

It also raises an interesting question. The reapers didn't even have to give the choice. They still could have overwhelmed them with force. So they chose to reward the one organic that did make it with a chance to rewrite things? What endemic quality about Shepard arriving there made him worthy? Machines have no concept of someone 'earning' or 'deserving' something, so his arrival there is the discrete criteria their system is broken? So, you automatically give him full power despite the knowledge the universe is doomed by doing so? Seems a bit silly.

I know that feel bro
but nope. You die, no matter what. That whole breathing thing? Yup, didn't happen, or you die anyway. So good thing they teased it huh?

Did you see that view? They just HAD to stop for that!

And after all of that, we still don't know if people are stranded. The relays are badly damaged, yes. Are they destroyed? Do the reapers repair them?

The consensus of what I'm reading seems to suggest that there are no real changes until right before
the beam to the Crucible
so I'm probably just gonna load up an autosave around that point. Not feeling playing all the way through from that point of no return.

Also probably just going to youtube
Destroy, Control, and Refusal
and play through
Synthesis
since it's what I picked my first time through.

That was an issue even in the non-EC version of the game. But I'm actually okay with it, and here's why:
After Sovereign being all, "Our methods and motivations are incomprehensible to your puny human brain," and then the Catalyst being all, "Here, let me take 30 seconds to fully explain what we're about in simple terms," I actually like that at least something is left as a mystery. Why does Shepard arriving at that place prove that their system is outdated, and why do they give Shepard the power to choose the next move? Only the Reapers comprehend why.

And after all of that, we still don't know if people are stranded. The relays are badly damaged, yes. Are they destroyed? Do the reapers repair them?
Given the lovey-dovey "everything is perfect now" slideshow and narration for Synthesis, I'm going to assume that the relays are repaired and good to go. Probably in Control too.

I haven't finished the game yet, but I have downloaded the DLC. How does it work exactly? When I get to the ending will it automatically be the content from this new add on?

Holy shit, I liked
Control
a LOT. Even more stoked to see what Green gets me tonight.

Edit: Fuggit. Just watching em all.

The consensus I saw was
that they fixed Control, showing more than before, actually having it make sense, while the other 2 by and large remain the same. Refuse I saw on youtube and...a cop out to a cop out.
Bioware really trolled their fans with that one.
But I'm sort of okay with it I guess. A real Matrix type ending.

Can someone clear something up for me? It's been about 2 months since I've played and I decided to play through from my last auto-save today with the Extended Cut. I don't know if I just didn't remember this specific part or if it was actually added in but..

I had Garrus and Liara with me and Liara was who I romanced in my playthrough. Right before Shepard gets hurt by the beam Liara and Garrus get hurt by some debris and Shepard calls Joker to Evac them. Did that always happen? I was also given an option of what to tell her and I chose "I will always love you" or something. She then responds "I am yours." Maybe I just don't remember that happening but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm also certain some of the scenes with Hackett weren't in there either? If anyone could clarify though it would be appreciated. I probably just overlooked it because it has been since late April that I finished it and never touched it again.

I think the reasonable people will be pretty happy with the endings, but the idiots who did things like file complaints with the BBB and try to launch lawsuits won't be pleased no matter what.

The parts you're describing are new in the Extended Cut.

Those are new. Done to explain how our squadmates are magically back on the evacuating normandy.
