Mass Effect 3 Discussion Thread
Ya know, Bioware has really done a great job with support the mulitiplayer and not charging a dime for it.

Pretty awesome really.
I think that is only because of the packs. If they didn't have a price on the unlocks then I'm sure the DLC would cost.
So apparently at the BioWare Comic-Con panel, they dropped some hints about an Omega/Aria T'Loak themed DLC being next in line after Leviathan, as many people have suspected.

They also showed this pic, which seems to show an Atlas mech underwater:
I thought that pic was in reference to Leviathon. Does anyone know if they actually spoke about that dlc?

Good news is, with SC and some others we got through Gold last night. Bad news is, halfway through the run we were informed by someone that the Event ended at 10:00 a.m. yesterday.

But it's better this way right ;)? People can complain about micro transactions all they want (in general), but as long as a game is unlock through progression and not pay to win, free is free to me.

Well, then...

Thanks for giving me some good news this morning, Spy.

Totally forgot to hop on for the event. You guys interested in hookin' up a "CAG ME3 Welcome To Earf" night sometime later this week? Might make a good Thursday or Friday evening. Give 'em time to work out the nigh inevitable kinks in the update as well.

Goddammit! I read that 10am Sunday figure as well, on the damn Bioware site. Thought I was too late to try it!

Actually, it's weird. On BSN, Chris Priestly said 10am Sunday. But on the BioWare blog, it was 10am Monday. Wonder if they'll clarify.

Although, I assume Chris just misspoke and it's really Monday because it'd be strange for them to suddenly shorten the time by one day.

Oh I knew there was something I missed with my morning routine haha.

Ahh that explains it, http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/726006/mass-effect-3-for-wii-u-will-ship-with-extended-cut-dlc/
When Mass Effect 3 is released for Wii U, the disc will come pre-loaded with the recently released extended cut DLC that expands the game's ending with new cutscenes and dialogue. BioWare's Michael Gamble confirmed as much in a chat with Siliconera, though he made no mention of WHEN we might see said Wii U port. Presumably sometime after the console is released this fall.
Damn 1 million credit and no new N7 Earth class. I should have listen to Dualedge2, I am so stubborn.
oi.

I'm going to throw down some tonight and just accum cR for a week...though I will pull the trigger on one PSP, if I don't get the earth classes whatever. I really want some of the rarer equipment packs mostly.
And my theory is proven correct.
It made the most sense, so gold star for you being right earlier than proven.

So, went to try the new maps, set it to look for a bronze match and my level 15 vanguard was dropped into the middle of a Platinum match. Holy hell that was insane. Banshees everywhere. I survived about 15 seconds.

Yeah I'm not doing random difficulty anymore, keeps putting me into Gold matches.

Vancouver map, Gold, I don't even know where I'm going! We got to Wave 7 haha.

I blew a bunch of credits on PSP's and walked away with naught but the new pistol, which I didn't care for. WEAK! Chubby needs a Slayer, didn't you get the memo Bioware??

How strange. You save up and get screwed.

I didn't save up anything and have the N7 Shadow, N7 Paladin, Piranha Shotgun (IV), Acolyte Pistol (I), new pistol mod (+dmg headshots), new SMG mod (+stability), and new AR mod (omni-blade attachment).

Think of the Piranha as the big brother of the Scimitar. And the Acolyte as a strange mix of the Scorpion, Arc Pistol, and Falcon. It shoots energy grenades that arc downward and that mainly damage shields/barriers.

I do have to say that the Acolyte and the Piranha are very underwhelming. I'm curious if this will be the first time where the AR really is worth the UR status.

It wasn't too bad, at least not from what I saw. I was in a random group that got to Wave 5 before getting wiped because no one wanted to use consumables (and they sucked). But it was interesting to see the variety. Geth, Cerberus, and Reapers all in one match. Pretty cool. Was quite taken back when I saw two Primes pop up in Wave 1.

Gonna be fun on the bun :D

Also, just got the N7 Fury.

Damn it I got Jack & Sh*t. Lol still haven't gotten both Cerberus classes or that Krogan Vangaurd.

I like all the new maps, although Earth is a far 3rd. I just never liked the level design of that in the single player but it seems they did tweak it a bit for multiplayer. We couldn't find the ammo caches though so maybe Rio has spoiled me on that fact (there's two in the center fairly close to each other). That water on Rio oohhhh that looks sweet.

so, I think with some respeccing I could play the new demolisher and shadow forever...homing grenade can be spammed just not as fast as a physical nade. it's basically an omni grenade. You can throw/fire it about the same speed if you spam the LB or RB i forget like the falcon's rof. Spec it up and it splits into 2 and has a fire DoT. Also that ammo pylon is awesome, now you can use wpns like the scorpion or anything w/low ammo cap forever.

I admit though being in a game w/2 demolishers (engineers) you lose a lot of dps. they are great at support, not as great when you gotta do moving objectives or when it hits the fan.

Shadow? pure awesome...I found the increased duration to cloaking is key. 40% dmg is nice while cloaked but your shadow strike is literally a biotic charge/melee attack. you can do it from any distance...it's borderline silly. 11.20 sec cloak? awesome. Give yourself some of the sniper rifle boost skills and you have a very well balanced infiltrator. I can now give up beauty punching.

Shadow has 675/675...fragile little lotus blossom.

I want that Shadow so bad. She looked like a blast. I'm seriously having a hard time playing anything but my Kroguard now though.

Didn't get any new characters, but I got FIVE Ultra-Rare cards. Only one I wanted was Black Widow V. Up to a Talon III and Scorpion II as well now, so yaaay. Also a bunch of gear and all but two of the new gun attachments. Overall, it was fun to come back.

Didn't get too into the Earth maps, but London looks like it could be pretty fun. Looking forward to trying the rest out this week.

I'll probably be on Friday, primarily. Forgot about the midnight showing of Batman for a minute.
Hahahahaha, just tell him. He'll shut up.
not sure if it was the random singing, the mic volume, or the playful sarcasm. reminds me of jelk's friend, but more torable. still had fun and would take him over CK Boss anyday.

The fan did it for me, hahaha.

Also, show some respect. CK Boss carried us, son.

the throw/pull min/max asari adept w/carnifax guy? who doesn't revive teammates and waits for you to biotically charge everything to steal the kill behind cover?

yeah...yo son...he ain't mah boss son.

the shadow w/shadow strike if you watched your CD's could effectively keep an atlas in shadow strike loop. playing enough of blizzard games, watching your CD's is 2nd nature.

I was able to shadow strike in, get a melee sword attack off and as the atlas turned to face me and possibly give me the squeeze I was able to shadow strike and get behind it again...over and over again until it s'ploded. I'm wondering if the melee dmg attachment works w/sword striking. can't wait to get some melee boosting equipment.

That sounds pretty nice. My Krogan gameplan is pretty similar, but I obviously lack the sweetness of warping behind enemies. The whole alternation I do between gunfire and heavy melee stunlocking also has the benefit of getting my next charge ready to go. Feels more mechanical than anything now.

I wonder how viable the Shadow's gameplan would translate to Banshees and the like; other heavy classes with a higher propensity to sync kill. Her with the Acolyte (which I'm hearing is good for Barriers and not much else) might be nice as a sidearm, especially with the new Ultralight Pistol mod.

Edge, you try out your Fury yet? I'm curious to see how Dark Channel translated to MP.

Yeah, you got to use that consumables if you want to stand a chance. It started getting really insane after wave 6. I was so freaked out by the Banshees that I wasted one of my cobra missle by shooting it in the air. #-o

Also, still no new n7 classes for me.

after our initial platinum drop w/just 2 ppl...and seeing geth primes troll us while the 2 hunters flanked and slapped us into submission. I'm thinking, it'll be all about biotic dets and tech bursts...as some classes will just not be as efficient enough to stand up in platinum.

i was shadow striking that banshee on the red base for a bit, but the camera does a funky close up and her aura sometimes makes it hard to see if she's in mid turn or not. I basically backstabbed her, rolled backwards and backstabbed her again each time...then i just ran out of there because i was starting to get stuck on the map layout.

Got that vibe too. Lively and I played a few rounds after you left and found that his Justicar and my Kroguard actually make for a pretty sick team. All the tank fistfighting and biotic explosions you'd expect from a Krogan and Asari. Definitely wanna try out Platinum for real soon.

Anyone know what the wave payouts are?

i'd say just figure the gold payout and multiply it enough to add up to whatever was posted earlier...103 cR or 130 cR i forget and too lazy to search. I'll be on friday to layeth the smacketh down. Might even use a respec card to reconfigure my shadow.

im hoping the mission pack(s) drop soon. I need my valiant to VI...nowza.

Wave 3 was around 20k. Since the total is around 130k (low-end), I'd expect Wave 6 to be about 40k and Wave 10 to be about 70k.

Just guesses on Wave 6 & 10 though.

A few questions for you guys.
What is the military strength number needed for the end?
Is the cutoff point for galactic readiness the last mission or maybe a couple before?
Do I have to download anything for the improved ending or was it a title update?

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken:

1.) 3100 after the EC is downloaded, if you meant the requirement for the "best" ending.
2.)
Cronos Station is the point of no return. Upon selecting this mission, your score is tallied, you lock in your EMS and either get the Master and Commander achievement or not.
3.) You have to download the Extended Cut DLC on your own.

This is correct. I think M&C pops a bit later, right before you go to Earth.
