Mine ran with NP. I got this from the Install File aka Readme.

2) The following game components are necessary for the game to run:
a) Microsoft XNA Framework 3.1
b) Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
c) DirectX 9.0c

Double check and make sure that stuff is on your rig.

Karoshi

Action/Platformer
Single Player - Yes

Theme: Fantasy

A simple platformer game at first sight, but much more difficult once you try. Your goal: Kill the salaryman in every stage.

The first Karoshi game was originally made as not much more than a joke. However, it quickly gained popularity and remains to be my most popular series. "Karoshi" (or to be correct "karoushi") is a Japanese word that can be translated as "death from overwork". Ironically, I now work in the Japanese games industry... - Jesse Venbrux

Beta - Deaths - Beta

Action/Platformer
Single Player - Yes
Multiplayer - No

Theme: Fantasy

Deaths seems like a regular platformer game but makes use of a very interesting idea. Everytime a player dies the position gets stored in an online database. When you enter a level, the latest deaths (from all over the world) are loaded in and you can see bodyparts lying around where people died. These bodyparts can be used as hints to spot dangers, and even as objects to walk on. Sometimes, you'll literally need other people's deaths to progress.

The game is an experimental concept with 6 levels.

NullpoMino

NullpoMino has been around for quite some time, but the developers are constantly adding new features until it's fit to burst. Version 7.5 was recently released, and the game now houses a total of 38 game modes. Thirty eight. Three-Eight. Yikes.

The game features plenty of variations on Tetris, from your standard marathon run to dig challenges to other strange modes that I honestly don't fully understand. The twist is that clearing lines one after the other will build up your combo - hence, rather than trying to go for the big four-liner over and over, it's best to try and clear those four one after the other in quick succession.

Net play is also available, with dedicated servers for finding opponents. It's all very impressive stuff, and well worth checking out whether you're a Tetris fan or not.

Triumph War 2099

Triumph War 2099 is up there with Gladiator (now known as Openglad as one of the best cooperative multiplayer on one keyboard games ever made. You and up to three other players take control of 1-4 commandos with legions of troops at your disposal, and one goal in mind: retrieve the Plasma Cannon Energy Crystal from the clutches of an infestation of alien bugs! Easier said than done.

Basically what we have here is a top-down shoot-‘em-up/strategy hybrid with a fantastic cooperative element. Pick up a machine gun, flame thrower, plasma cannon and a few grenades, call in some air support, let your troops know what you want from them, and head into the swarm guns blazing with your friends at your sides.

IGN - Best Freeware Games Of 2010

Thanks to harsh realities like "money" and "not enough of it," most people just aren't able to buy every game that they want. But just because you don't have money doesn't mean you can't enjoy some awesome new games. Whether you're looking for a quick hit to kill some time on your commute, or you're looking for something that will occupy you for hours, there's a flavor for every taste preference.

Go Here To Get It On - http://bestof.ign.com/2010/free-to-play/

Megazell's Comment - What will you be voting for?

I don't play FB games. So I can not vote on that.

Super Crate Box is an awesome game. I posted on here earlier in the year and it was a lot of fun to play.

Vindictus has to be the game I put my vote on. It is just the BEST Action MMORPG, I have ever played. The boss battles are epic. Every single one of them.

Rambo The Last Blood

Adventure

Theme: Love

Peter Javidpour recently wrapped up his MolyJam 2012 puzzle adventure entitled Rambo: Last Blood. The photo actually spoils one of the least humorous parts of the game, but it's enough to suggest that Rambo's last mission doesn't take place in a jungle.

Rambo faces eight instances to right his wrongs (sadly, none of which is an apology to Stallone movie sufferers) in the form of puzzles, some of which should force a smile. If the puzzles don't charm, the pixels and some of the animation surely should. I also wager most of you will need to search the Internet to solve at least one puzzle.

Go ahead and give Rambo: Last Blood a try; it will only take a few minutes of your day. The spoiler-ish, inspiring tweet is listed after the jump.

Last Blood was inspired by the @petermolydeux tweet: "I wanted that Rambo license. My idea was that Rambo is dead, you control his ghost and must locate and hug every one of his victim's ghosts." - Indiegames.com

Talesworth Adventure: The Lost Artifacts

Theme: Fantasy

So, Talesworth Adventures: The Lost Artifacts works something like this. You're Questy, a somewhat immodestly-dressed adventurer with an ineptitude for money management. Fortunately for you, the evil Boneyard has appeared to rain havoc over the land. As you might have guessed, that means you're back in business.

In spite of what the premise might implicate, Talesworth Adventures: The Lost Artifacts is more of a puzzle game than anything else. Each screen will require you to cleverly make use of loot bags, meat, weaponry and a variety of other items so as to be able to acquire all the valuables on the screen and to pass to the next challenge. You see, Questy is not the brightest chap in the world. He has a tendency of walking determinedly in a single direction, something that can result in his inevitable demise. In order to get him to his destination without fatalities, you're going to have to strategically plan his route for him before pressing the 'go' button. - IndieGames.com

Ah, yes, the sheer and utter joy of smashing through buildings, crushing choppers and attacking those pesky human cities. A kind of joy I hadn't really experienced since the venerable Rampage ruled the arcades and one that Roar Rampage not only recreates, but actually enriches, what with its oh-so-modern physics engine and bold visuals.

Now, anyone care to find out how the thing plays? Well, the mouse controls the gloved, Godzilla-esque hand that will gloriously punch buildings, block bullets, destroy tanks and generally obliterate the human enemy, whereas the left and right arrow buttons will unsurprisingly move your alien-dinosaur thingie left and right. A Super Mario Summary

A Super Mario Summary was my entry for the 23rd Ludum Dare 48 hour game development challenge. The theme was Tiny World and I decided to recreate every single world from the original Super Mario Brothers as a single screen puzzle level. The result is a tricky mix of platforming, reflexes, and timing.

To complete a level you only need to reach the flagpole, but try to reach the top and get all the coins for maximum rating! Once you get all coins and a three star flag on each level, a whole new challenge awaits...

The Desolate Hope

Theme: Science Fiction

Scott Games' latest Windows freeware title, The Desolate Hope, isn't great just because of its stunning artwork, its gripping sci-fi story, and its coffee pot protagonist. It also packs a triple punch with three distinct gameplay types, each skillfully woven together. The side scrolling action has different platforming elements for each section, the overhead adventure distills fun elements of a classic Zelda (including walls you can walk through or destroy) and the turn-based, RPG-style boss battles are visually mesmerizing and tough.

The Desolate Hope is pretty non-linear and offers hours of gaming. The leveling system is interesting in that there are no experience points. The game also has a day-and-night system that mixes up the game more and adds a sense of urgency to completing it. Finally, the rich story should keep you guessing until the very end.

The trailer is after the jump, but if you want to keep a lot of the visual experience a surprise, go ahead and download The Desolate Hope now.

Some of the robots and concepts seem revisited from The Desolate Room, but Cawthon didn't indicate that playing it beforehand was necessary. So dive in, and enjoy!

Legionwood: Tale Of The Two Swords

The world has been at peace since the Great War ended 1000 years ago. Now, an ancient antagonist is ready to set in motion a plan that has been in the making for centuries. Take control of Lann Northshire, an ordinary peasant who is unwillingly thrown into a conflict that will soon engulf the entire world. The fate of Legionwood hangs in the balance. Will you be able to restore peace to the land? With a thrilling story of love, revenge, war and peace, Legionwood is an adventure that you won't want to pass up!

Legionwood 2: Rise Of The Eternal's Realm

Legionwood 2's story follows on from where Legionwood: Tale of the Two Swords left off. It has been nearly three hundred years since Castoth was banished from the realm and the world has been at peace. However, it seems now that this peace is about to end. Barbarians from the western land of Entoban have invaded the empire of Trevelle, occupying two major cities near the western border. Lionel Morton, a guard in the Imperial Capital, has transfered to a battalion assigned to retaking the captured towns. Tonight, they move to liberate the city of Corinthe, where Lionel's lover Clara waits, alone and in danger.

But there are also other strange happenings of late in Trevelle. Monster attacks seem to be on the increase for an unknown reason and trade with Charn to the north has mysteriously ceased. Are these bizarre events linked to the war that is seemingly about to engulf the Empire?
