Metal Gear Solid 4 & Metal Gear Online - 8/6: Rumored Trophy Update Out Now? Rumor!

Hey guys, I haven't been keeping up with the MGS4 info. I want to get one of those limited edition grey PS3 bundles. Can anyone tell me or direct me to the following info.

How many "Grey" MGS4 PS3 units will be produced for the U.S.?

What's the best way to get one?

Will there be a high demand?

Snake has to die, he just HAS to, it seems implied everywhere.

i could care less if snake lives or dies, I just want to know the story. every character is super complex anyway. also, if these required installs keep showing up I will have to get a bigger HDD sometime.

I just delete the Game data for stuff I know I won't be playing for a while or even at all, it free's up a lotta space

Yeah, if you've got a game's install just sitting on your HD not doing anything get rid of it.

I do too, but I have alot of videos on my damn thing... mainly game preview vids... oh well.. bye bye they go.

Haha, yea, that was the second thing I had to look into to see what stuff I should delete. Another thing that took up a lot of space were all the demos I dl'd but never got rid of.

No 1080i/p support either. That's a little disappointing. For a 50gb game, I guess that's a bargain HDD size wise.

The install doesn't bother me, especially with 90 minute cutscenes.
 
Wow, I thought people were talking about 90 minutes worth of cut scenes all together not some cut scenes 90 minutes. That's insane and yet now I really want to play this game.
 
The CVG article is specific-- there is more than one cutscene that is 90 minutes long.

That's what I'm figuring, not even Xenosaga has a cutscene THAT long

TTP on gaf (i think you know him) played through the game and doesn't remember anything close to that long.
 
I'm going to make a guess and say the final cut scene where Snake dies, as well as a closing of many stories/paths and/or continuation of others stories will be the ending and that's where the 90min one is... if not, i dunno...

guess this rules out the massive need for dual layer Bluray many fanatics preached, especially since the audio is your standard DD ;)

Depends if they get enough preorders. Mine barely got anything, so no joy for me.
 
As long as the game lasts a good while and plays like a dream, I'll be more than satisfied. I'm itching to play around with his new Camo Suit :D

and the drum can ;O
 
Yeah, the CVG article is probably specific about a rumor reported an another site that was just hearsay to begin with.

I've no doubt that the cutscenes are long, but use common sense here, 90 minutes straight is just ridiculous.

That's really stupid.

(This is all theoretical since no one here actually knows if there are 90 mintue cutscenes.)

But, if Kojima can't get the cutscenes down to a realistic length because of bad directing, we should have to suffer by missing out on parts of the story.

That's a stupid solution.
 
Where'd this 90 minute BS come from?

It's too bad Ryan Payton and the Kojima Productions Report has disappeared, because it would be nice for them to clarify what's going on with all of these rumors and such.

I'm curious what everyone thinks of the 'strong language' descriptor the ESRB put on MGS4. My personal preference is to avoid as much strong (F-word, etc) language as possible as I simply don't like to hear it. I've found that the description varies widely - Resistance, for example, I found nothing wrong with in regard to its language. Assassin's Creed had, what, two F-words? Not great, but certainly still within a PG-13 rating and my tolerance. GTA IV, Condemned 2, and many others are littered with it to the point that I won't play them.

Considering the near-absence of foul language in the previous MGS games, how far do you think they take it in the newest installment?

EDIT: I found this shortly after posting

The British ratings board warns that MGS4 "features one use of strong language and references to suicide and an implied child rape."
