this is a little OT, but I thought I should ask it here...

I pre-ordered my game at my local GS (even though I have about 4 that are local...)

Well I just checked the midnight launch sheet and the one I pre-ordered at isn't on the list, but the one about 5 min away IS. Can I just pick it up there? Or will I have to go to MY GS, and ask them to cancel it, can I even do that? and still get my money back?

sorry for the noobish Q's, but I neverrr use GS.
 
Gamestop preorders are store centric, so you won't be able to just go and pick it up at another store. Well, at least not from what I remember.

You should be able to easily cancel your pre-order with that one store, and get another pre-order from the store doing a midnight launch.

heh thanks, I went in and all went smooth :applause:

the girl there even said "tons were canceling", because of the non-midnight launch there.

I ended up pre-ordering at Toys R Us by my house because I got a $10 of $50 coupon in the mail :):):)

Not true. It explains the beginning of the downfall of Big Boss, and even hints at a precursor to the SOP mind-control. And yes, it also explains Eva's disappearance that was mentioned at the end of MGS3. It's canon.

Is the midnight opening policy a corporate decision or up to the store?

I just called a few local stores that were on the PDF linked to in this thread, and all of them said they weren't doing midnight openings. Could it just be an uninformed employee, or can a store decide not to do it?

Worse. It feels like a pamphlet instead of a "book". I was expecting something like the DMC4 or Assassins Creed artbooks but that was not the case. The art is nothing that you haven't seen before on the internet.

Yeah I picked mine up today and was not impressed.

Supposed to be only for LE preorders. I'm willing to bet though that most employees won't know that, and anyone with a preorder can get one.

Seriously?!? Bah I might just end up getting the regular edition then. Hell, even Europe has a better LE deal (figurine).
 
I've seen the GS LE Pre-order book. It's like a magazine, but with better pages, covers. And in size too.

I paid off my SE pre-order today. I'm gonna think about what the LE has to see if I change my mind or not. It's got a soundtrack, and documentaries and the special cover, but that's just a box as you still get your standard cases, which is what every LE should do.

BTW, my store is holding a pre-order event and the guy is a huge MGS fan, and he told me that moderate MGS fans probably shouldn't get it, but he is since he's a big MGS fan. Nice of him to tell me.

For GS? Of course. I haven't needed a receipt for picking up a pre-order at GS for a few years.

okay thanks.Yeah I meant GS even though I didn't post it. I can't wait for my LE MGS 4!!!!!!
 
I called my local EB to inquire on the artbook, despite the "meh" reviews I have read. According to the manager, they did not get the artbooks in yet. She did say that she would be sure to hold one with all of the preorders though, and no use making separate trips for the artbook and the game.

This reminded me that the last game I preordered at EB was Fear Effect. I was the only person who preordered it, so the store only got one artbook. One of the employees claimed it and told me that they didn't get any. I found out a few weeks later from the manager who told me the guy was fired for stealing preorder items. :lol:
 
I'm confused, how much are the strategy guides? I was told the LE strategy guide was $29.99 when I preordered it. I check online and its $19.99. Then I got a letter from Gamestop and the ad says $29.99. So which is it?
