I have to say I have been underwhelmed in general by the game so far. I really enjoyed the original and the gamecube remake. Not so much MGS2, but MGS3 a lot.
I am not sure what I am missing or if maybe something has changed since playing MGS3? Seems like I am in the minority, perhaps.
I have to agree about the underwhelmed part, im trying soo hard to love this game.
Well, I beat MGS4. Again. No alerts, no kills. I couldn't get Altair's costume. The qualifications don't meet my style of play. I got something to shoot for on a 3rd play through.
That's it... I just got the gane and finished Act One.
This game is ing amazing...this just blows Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and every damn Splinter Cell game out of the water. I've never had as much fun in a shooter in my life before (NO, I didn't play it like a run-n-gun, I'm just calling it a shooter).
My friends all came over, and right after one went to Target and bought a PS3. No lie.
If you want, I'll make it. I dont want to be the leader though, so if we can transfer the leadership to frisky or whoever that'll be fine with me.
Try making it and transferring it. If it doesn't work, then just disband it.
You notice any changes? I can't believe you logged in 20 hours already, did you skip the single player game?
Nuts, I didn't get that conversation (or entirely forgot it). I even called Otacon multiple times randomly throughout each area.
It was asked before, but has anyone found any "hidden" codec frequencies?
I was thinking of going through every codec frequency possible. But I don't know which act to try it in.
Act 4?
Because I only had 2 codecs at the end of the game... and there are SOO many numbers so I couldn't imagine their only being a couple.
Still only about halfway to the time requirement, Rolento. I remember there being an option to designate a co-leader in the beta, though I'm not sure there's any way to transfer leadership. We could certainly do a temp CAG clan if TheRock doesn't want to be the leader.
It just involves all of the people I'm playing with gettin' on an XBLA game (Undertow, (was) free, and has 16 player lobbies.) We do this so it's easier to communicate about the room/server/what we want to play and during the game we can play without pushing a button to talk and if someone ends up on the other team, we can still talk (shit) to them.
Has anybody figured out what the third game type option is? It's not the mode, but normal, drebin points, and there's a ?????? option that I'm guessing you have to unlock yourself, I'm guessing. I'm hoping it's a classic MGO mode where you can collect an arsenal of weapons isntead of being stuck with only one.

From the guide, I think it's
headshot only mode,
I could be wrong though, but that's it is listed in there as.
Snake has always known CQC. He's a special forces operative. Besides, in the beginning of MGS, Master Miller (Liquid) mentions something about Snake and Close Quarters Battle, which is the same thing as CQC.
I missed the codec, so I don't know what was said, though.
Does it drive anyone else nuts that people in MGS talk about the "invention" of "CQC," which is basically just standard martial arts techniques? Stuff like this has been going on in various parts of the world for centuries, yet it is attributed to Big Boss. There is nothing different in CQC, as far as I can see. As a martial artist, I am somewhat offended by this silliness!
So, I played all the metal gears this past month - having never played any before. I liked them (with the exception of Portable Ops). MGS4 though - completely blew me away. I absolutely love it. Only game in a long time where I want to replay the campaign. Coupled with one of the most unique online experiences I've ever played - it's become my favorite game of all time, tied with Tetris.
Not since Sonic the Hedgehog 3 have I played a single game a whole weekend straight. Freaking amazing.
Crying Wolf is ANNOYING AS . It doesn't help that my gun is shaking all over the in place and I can't hit her. I have one bar on her left (going for stamina kill). How the hell do you get the gun to stop shaking?

Diazpem (or however you spell it, it's been around since MGS1). I believe the syringe works too.
So there is voice chat in mgo, right? I had my blutooth headset on and there was a little mic on the right of my name, but I was the only one who has one, so I just turned it off. So far I haven't been in a game where someone else has a headset.
Also, I do a lot worse when i am snake, I dont get how it works still. One person is snake and hes a third team by himself? I always end up getting gangbanged, by multiple people, usually from both teams at once. People just seem to want to kill snake.

That's the point of the mode....
Which ever team kills Snake 3 times, wins.
Snake has to steal 3 dog tags from enemies IN A ROW (without dying).
You do this by knocking someone out and searching their body or holding them up.

The "CQC" they talk about is a fairly modern invention in that it incorporates small firearms (i.e. a handgun) with a combat knife, and to a lesser extent, fighting with a two-handed rifle in close quarters. While it borrows from a lot of existing martial arts techniques, last I checked no martial art uses firearms as an integral part of its discipline.
It's not easy to win as Snake.
I unlocked bandanna, stealth, and the
Boktai
gun.
8 hours, 23 minutes.
To get the Assassin Emblem you have to
kill/stun over 50 enemies, CQC hold over 50 enemies, and not be discovered over 25 times
If anyone is going to play tonight, add my psn. I'd like to try out my blutooth headset, but I haven't been in a game with another headset yet. I think I have it set up right...
I like how they announce maintenance with the call - thought for a second I was playing the campaign.
Poo on maintenance. (
I was on my computer, and I had left the game running at the menu. I heard the codec beep and thought I was losing my mind from playing the game too much.
So, what is the technique when playing as snake? I try to sneak up on people, but usually someone just shoots me from behind or the side and thats when I get gangbanged. Or the guy moves away.

I like to lay porno down as a trap so they can't move when they get caught in it.
Once I see I have someone stuck with porno, I shoot them with my Mosin-Nagant, two shots puts them down, one if it's a headshot.
The octocam makes you invisible if you're not moving.

I had success a few ties laying on my stomach and hitting someone with the tranquilizer. But its hard if they aren't still. I'll try more traps next time.
How do people get trapped? Does their character just get stuck if they pass it, or what?
