okay, i keep hearing that a bunch of muggs, including harder to find muggs like venom, will be getting re-released within the next few months, particularly the marvel ones. but everywhere i go online, even these re-releases are sold out through pre-orders. does anyone know if these re-releases are actually gonna show up in stores, or come out at all? with the amount of new waves getting released by the end of the year, i can't imagine that hasbro will be putting older figures out as well.
 
yes they will be in the stores. Seeing as how the Wolverine is a re-release and he is in stores. Problem is beating the scalpers there first though

Don't know of any place besides ebay but with the 30% ebay cashback promotion when you use paypal right now...ebay is definitely going to be your best bet. Unfortunately you won't see the 30% cashback for about 60-75 days.
I personally have just used this promotion to get the SDCC Peter Parker and SDCC Iron Man myself.

Just got back from one of the Walmart's in my area.
They had Galactus, Silver Surfer, Wolverine, Dr. Doom, The Human Torch, and The Hulk + a whole bunch of Star Wars ones but those I don't like.
The Dr. Doom was the only one that really interested me but it's box was messed up. It was 50/50 till one of the associates there yelled at me for opening the box. I was like wtf the box was already opened hahaha! Then I left.
My mom is stopping by another one today, hopefully some luck.

MM I have:
Silver Surfer, Galactus, Black Spidey, The Hulk
MM I want:
Captain America, Spiderman, Iron Man, Venom, and any SDCC Marvel
Their are a bunch of MM in my area let me know (PM or reply) if you have some of my wants. I could buy some MNIB for you to trade.

but wolverine is being re-released as part of a wave with new characters. venom is being re-released in a "refresher" case with 3 other re-releases. and i'm starting to suspect that these cases won't be going to regular old stores, simply based on the timing. the next new wave of marvels should be showing up pretty soon here. i don't know when they'd put out cases of old figures.

and i'm honestly a little surprised to hear people say that there are muggs they don't like. i mean, granted, not all of them are the best, but some of the ones getting mentioned as 'not liked' are some of my faves. captain america is one of the best ones! and some of the star wars muggs (lando!) are great!
 
Is the Emperor star wars one rare. Also i just got

Wolverine and him but i have a question


Wolverine has marks on him (discoloring on his head along with yellow paint drops on his black. Is this normal for them to be non perfect?

emperor isn't rare, no... at least not around me.

and ohhh yeah... it's (sadly) very normal for them to have marks, paint smudges, bad touch-ups, etc. all you can do is pay close attention when buying and try to pick the best one. and even then, you might find something terrible on the figure's back.
 
BTW...anyone seen a Punisher in the wild yet? I saw the newer ones in Walmart today (Torch, Galactus) and the back of the box shows a Punisher one.

I'm pretty sure they made Punisher as a Toys R Us exclusive, and I think they swapped Punisher out for a Wolverine reprint. He should be out sometime in November.

The Emperor is not rare anymore. I see them in couple stores taking over the places of Obi-Wan and Luke.:roll:

Wolverine with marks on him is normal, but to tell you the truth, it is also signs of bad quality control. Hasbro sort of just let it go. I have seen weird marks on Wolverine all the time now. I have seen a Captain America with weird patch of paint on his uniform and his shield has some weird white mark, possibly from some krazy glue. And all the Captain Rex I have seen have bad paint job. :whistle2:|

Couple days ago, I was putting my Muggs into box for storing, I have noticed that the Human Torch I have have a mark near his chin. And when I was at stores looking for dent free Silver Surfer, I have also notice that few of them have the mark too. Guess it is the same as the dent on Silver Surfer, some manufacturer problem for certain batches of Muggs.

One strange thing, there seems to be less and less Indiana Jones Muggs, whether it is wave 1 or wave 2, in some stores, not sure if it has anything to do with the supposed cancelled waves or they are just trying to clear the stock before getting more in.
 
How's everyone's collections coming along? I'm almost about to hit the magic ten. Then I think I'm going to take a little break. But before I do that, I'm having a buddy of mine who is crazy into Warhammer take a Lando and paint him to look like Captain Marvel(DC style). I'm wicked pumped because he's crazy good at painting. I'll post pics once it's done if anyone is interested.

Has anyone else noticed a lack of new shipments? I've been checking all the Walmarts, ToysRUS, and Targets around here and for the last 2 weeks or so there dosn't seem to be anything new in. I'm not sure if I just happen to be missing when they get the shipments or if my area is cut off for some strange reason.
 
in our area we're finally starting to get decent shipments, shelves are not bare like they use to be. Last night i found a set of wave 4 marvels just sitting there, and last week at a walmart i saw wave 3 marvels just sitting there. First time i've seen shelves like this. My count is currently at 14, just missing Iron Man, Capt. America, and Peter Parker to complete the marvel collection.
 
Down to just needing Venom to complete my Marvel Collection. Not really willing to pay $30-$40 for him though. Missing Leia, Commander Cody and Emperor from Star Wars. Don't really like the Leia or The Emperor Mighty Mugg too much..but if I'm so close to finishing, I might as well right?

So I just got back from another Toys R Us and another Walmart in my area. My count is only at 4. Hulk, Black Spidey, Silver Surfer, and Galactus. I can't find any other ones in stores, Ive been going to different walmarts, targets and toys r us. I guess I just can't give up. :p Too many Wolverines and Torches in my area. I might just end up grabbing them to curb my hunger hahahaa.

Btw, how do most stores work? Do they get shipments of these things in weekly? Should I go everyday looking? Weekly?
 
So excited, I just ordered an SDCC Iron Man off ebay for $36. Not bad right? Well with 30% off from live search I got it for only $25!
The only con is it's coming from Hong Kong standard mail. So I have to wait.

Actually, Punisher is not exclusive. It is the Two Pack of Jigsaw and Punisher that is exclusive to Toys R Us only.

As for my Captain Rex, He has nothing on em. I even inspected him before I signed for the package from Fed Ex as well.

Also, I just got a Wave of Mighty Muggs for free! Not sure which wave I even want truthfully. Yah for Forum contests! :D

I've heard Punisher and Jigsaw are exclusive to TRU and I've heard that they or Punisher are not exclusives. Where is everyone hearing the 2 sides from?

I've been hearing it all other actually. There is supposedly a Two pack of Mighty Muggs that is Exclusive to Toys R us, But the Punisher by him self Is not exclusive.

I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of G.I Joe truthfully :(

Iron Man is in stock at Walmart.com, as I just ordered from there. Shipping was really cheap also.

Hmm. Iron Man is tempting considering stores have raised the price of Muggs and its less than $10 online.

my collection is going very well! in under 6 weeks, i've managed to get almost all of them...

i'm missing venom, thing and peter parker. my sdcc iron man is in the mail. other than that, i'm complete so far... star wars, marvel, indy and the 2 blank ones. 45 muggs total.

Iron Man has special $.97 shipping while the others have $5 shipping. A bunch of BS. I sent an email to walmart to complain about it and say how I won't shop on the site because of the unfair shipping cost. I got back the generic we are looking into shipping options, we offer $.97 shipping on select items, blah blah blah, we do give a shit about your email, response.
 
Just got my SDCC Iron Man in from ebay and man, that Muggers Sweet!!

Been picking up a lot of my missing pieces from ebay with the 30% cashback promotion without having to pay too much over retail price.
My tip is to ask the seller to add the shipping costs to their buy it now price, so you can maximize the 30% cashback. So if something was $14.99 plus $5.00 s/h, I would ask them to change it to $19.99 buy it now with free shipping.
I've had luck with a couple sellers willing to work with me that way. Some will mention that they don't want to pay the extra ebay fees, but at most it will be an extra 75 cents to a $1, so just tell them add that to the buy it now price. You'll still come out ahead with the 30% cashback offer.
 
Finally found a Silver Surfer today minus the head dent that seems to be so common. I almost got Human Torch but ended up deciding against it.
 
Picked up Thor and Black Suit Spidey today. I didn't know Thor's helmet wasn't glued on his head which gave me quite a surprise when I was unpacking him from his box.
 
yeah, i'm not a big fan of the thor helmet/wig... but i'm also glad it wasn't just painted onto the regular old head. nice that he's different, but the helmet shoulda been glued on, like with galactus

This seller is offering the 4 exclusive San Diego Comic Con 2008 Mighty Muggs (Movie Iron Man, Peter Parker, Cmdr. Gree and the Fertility Idol) as a set for $105.
Even after shipping, when you get your cashback, each MM will have cost you about $22 or so. I'll end up getting $31.50 back. Seemed like a decent deal to me, so I bit.
It wasn't exactly easy to find this auction via Live search so I'm going to detail how I eventually found it below:
Using MS Live search for: "Peter Spider Iron Gree Idol Set".
This will net "Iron set" as your ebay cashback option.
Click on "Live Search Cashback".
You'll see a bunch of golf auctions.
On the left, scroll down to "Refine search" and then "specify sellers".
Then only show items from seller "anime_oc".
There are 2 BIN auctions going, one for $109.99 and one for $104.99. To show the $104.99 auction, you may have to select "Sort by: Time Ending Soonest".
After that the rest is straight forward.

I ended up buying 11 today in a search for some to trade for a Vader Mugg (15 if you count the ebayed ones)! I actually got lucky at my last stop and found a lone Vader MM. :whee:
I've been trying to avoid collecting these things for a long time but these things are too damned cute!!! I'm hooked now!!!:lol:

Bought my first two Mighty Muggs yesterday :whee:

I picked up Wolverine and Thor. I was at the TRU just a few days earlier and they had Spidey, Captain American and Hulk and then I come a few days later and everything is gone excepts for a couple of Wolverines, a couple of Thors, and tons of Ghost Riders and Doc Ocks.
 
Good find on Thor. I have a friend who's been looking for Thor for a few weeks now. No luck in Houston. If anyone knows where he is in Houston, please post.
