Mighty Muggs info thread:
Why? Because they are awesome

Target: 9.99 (not on website)

Toys R Us: 10.49 (http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=mighty%20muggs&origkw=Mighty%20muggs&f=Taxonomy/TRUS/2254197&sr=1) I have found them to have the biggest amount, and rarer ones of most of the stores

Wal-Mart: 9.98 (Not online?) Maybe some clearance ones?

Thanks for the information. Since Walmart would have no record of those particular Mighty Muggs being sold, do you think they would consider them as being stolen? Also, after contacting Walmart management via phone (this may not surprise anyone), it I was informed that the MM manufacturer issues a certain number of MMs at regularly scheduled time regardless of how many are in stock in a particular store. The management guy that I spoke with didn't mention a quantity level, but perhaps he failed to mention that; what you're saying actually makes more sense.

$80??? Where's he shipping them from, India?

Unless he sent them FedEx Priority Overnight (which would be asinine), there's no way he paid more than $50 to ship 7 MMs.

Here's an extremely exaggerated example:

FedEx Ground: 20lbs 20x20x20 box from CA to FL = $45
If you can get them in a 15x15x15 = $25

Those customs are easily worth $80, but charging you only shipping he definitely did not do. I'm just sayin'...

Funny..the cheapass in me thought the exact same thing when he mentioned he only had to pay for the s/h which was $80.

But yeah, I definately would have paid $80 and then some for those Muggers.
 
Well if the shipping was only 45 then oh well. I guess he factored in the gas and time out of his day.

Still it was nice he thought of me first for helping him out a lot. So If I spent a little more than 45 just for shipping. I don't care really. Sadly enough, IF i ever decided to sell them I could easily make the money back in a heartbeat. But oh well, They mean a lot to me none the less.

I have a nobler theory: He sold them at cost + shipping. 7 blank Muggs @ $8 + $25ish to ship = your $80 investment. It makes sense and seems only fair to both parties. I just can't imagine him pulling an eBay " $1 BIN w/$30 S/H!" on you...

I ran out at lunch to see if any stock had been replenished at a nearby Target and Wal-mart.The Target was replenished but with MMs I already had: Galc, SS, Hulk. I did end up with The Human Torch since the box was in excellent condition.

Stopped at Wally-world next. Last weekend they had Asajj, Dooku, Cody; all gone this time around. I did however run across a Dr. Doom, Ghost Rider and classic Iron Man. Pretty much completed all the Marvel MMs except of course, Venom.:bomb:

EDIT: All the new waves that were labeled "coming soon" on hasbrotoystore.com have now changed to "out of stock".:cry:

Is it improper to offer trades in this thread? I was thinking since we appear to be a finite group on CAG that this one thread encompassed all MM dealings. If this is the wrong place, please remove the following and inform me where this kind of thing should go.

The Iron Man I picked up to trade. The box is in damn-near perfect condition unlike the box I received from Walmart.com. It had a box-cutter slice along 2 sides of the bottom. Anyway I'd be interested in trading for any other uncommon or rare MMs.(ie: Leia, Yoda, Cody, Venon
 
Has anyone run into this problem on the Hasbro store? The "Fall20" sale is not working for me on the exclusive Muggs like the Indy Idol. Hmm curious and curiouser...

there's been discussion of this on other boards, from people who are REALLY crazy and want to collect EVERYTHING, including box variants...

apparently the canadian boxes ALL have vader on the front, and the character's name is simply a sticker put over what, presumably, says "darth vader" underneath. the back of the box features all characters from the wave, and no character-specific images like the US boxes. kinda boring.

Hasbro does the exact same thing with 25th Anniversary GI Joes. Generic coverart with a sticker to specify the figure.

A question for those who have ordered Muggs from Wal-mart.com:

I placed my order for Iron Man on the morning of the 4th. As of yesterday (before I E-mailed them) my order status showed:
"Processing"
"Will arrive between Thursday, 10/09/08, and Tuesday, 10/14/08."

Yesterday I E-mailed them and they sent me a form letter highlighting this:

"To ensure that we provide you with accurate
information, we are researching the matter. We will email you with the
requested information within the next 2 business days."

Now my order status is showing this:
"Processing"
"Will arrive between Thursday, 10/16/08, and Tuesday, 10/21/08."

Are they just screwing with me, or do they actually have it available to ship out and they're too lazy to get up off their arses and find it amongst the hundreds of Star Wars and Indy Muggs they still have?

When I ordered mine, there were 3 available. 10 minutes after my order was placed it dropped to zero.

I guessing you ordered Iron Man. I ordered Iron Man on 10/3 and had similar shipping schedule. Mine has also been pushed back to between 10/16-10/21. A bunch of fucking bullshit. I'll be emailing them today.

The same thing happened to me. I placed my order on 10/3 and now it's pushed back to arrive between 10/16-10/21.
 
I ordered my Iron Man from walmart.com on 9/25 and still havn't received him! I did receive my other Muggs that I ordered along with it though. So I dunno whats going on there.

I called a couple of times before and asked but they didn't have it. I guess I just talked to a friendly person, because they said if it came in that they would hold it for me. Also told me what new ones came in.

This is bullshit. When I ordered it said nothing about shipping so late. And them saying it will take 1-2 days to process then 3-7 day to arrive is bullshit. According to that then the latest it should get here is 10/12 or so.
 
Mine got pushed back as well to should ship between 10/16 - 10/21. I ordered when everyone else did on the 2nd or 3rd and really thought I would get him before my B Day on the 14th but I guess thats not going to happen. Damn you Wal Mart! Damn You!
 
So the new Star Wars wave is out in stores. I was over at Urban Outfitters in San Jose, CA and actually went in this time. In addition to 2 venoms, around 6 iron mans and nearly every other marvel mighty mugg, they had several of each of the newest mighty muggs wave including Hoth Han, Grand Moff Tarkin, Ploon?, and Darth Vader without the mask.

I have to say Vader was cool because you can rotate his head to put the mask on or off. They all looked cool ... but being $20 each I decided to pass. So they are out there ...

Shortly after I rolled over to Toys R Us to see if they had the new wave at a decent price and I found 5 captain rex's just sitting there (no new wave though). Kinda crazy considering I hadn't seen Cap. Rex at all over the past 2 months.

I thought about picking up some of the venom's and iron man's for the thread. But I don't think it would be cost efficient for anyone since I'm short on cash and with $20 starting plus shipping it would be something like $30 each which isn't much savings for you guys. But if anyone's reallly desperate, let me know and maybe we can work something out.

Mugg hunting seems to be the epitome of that old saying: "Fast, cheap, and good -- pick any two."
 
So a update on the Iron Man/Walmart issue. I sent an email in response to them saying its not their fault. I just got a phone called (but missed it) and got a message saying that whoever read the first email didn't look at the situation and didn't respond right. They are sending the message to the fulfillment department to see whats up and it probably has something to do with it being sold out now. Plus she was refunding 30% of the price and refunding the shipping.

So I scored (when I get it) an Iron Man for $7. Now I'm not so angry about waiting.

I wasn't really into these until I saw the Transformers and G.I.Joe ones.
I love Star Wars and Indy and to a lesser extent the Marvel universe but I guess it takes my love of the 80's to start collecting useless pieces of plastic again. :)
