Though I'm not a fan of his "uprising," I have to admit, from the show, Kimbo seems like an alright dude.

"Hey, keep the noise down...Some fucking guys man..."

The Ultimate Fighter yesterday, which sucked balls. What a horrible mess. The guy that did the editing for it yesterday should be fired. Terrible. The whole first half an hour was a waste, and bored me to tears. Why the fuck do I care that Kimbo can't train for shit and has a giant pot belly or whatever the hell it was they were mouthing, stopped paying attention at some point. I do believe that Kimbo is a better person, but not yet a better fighter. I think he is much more humble than any of the other fighters on the show, and to tell you the truth, probably more deserving of a UFC chance if he attains one. Roy might be the veteran, but he's an asshole and I wouldn't pay anymoney to see him fight. Anyway, If the show degrades any further next episode, I think I'll watching/caring for it. Crappy, crappy season.

P.S. best part of the show was Marcus talking about flowers.

Everyone should have seen that fight going that way as soon as it was announced. Kimbo sucks on the ground, and Roy is very good. Add in the size advantage and it's an easy win for Roy.

Roy took it easy on Kimbo really. He could have put a hell of a lot more power behind his shots when he had Kimbo in the crucifix, but he did just enough to finish the fight. Maybe a bit boring, but definitely not "heartless"

Corrected.

Seriously though, that's a cop out, dude. He "could have" put more hurt on Kimbo? It's a fight. If you can dominate the guy, dominate. Yeah, maybe it's more insulting to get beaten by girly punches, but Nelson had an opportunity to bloody Kimbo and shatter America's image of him, and he took the easy way out. He won by relying on Herb Dean's obligation to stop the fight due to a technicality. I can't respect that.

I'm not saying stand and trade with him. That would have been beyond stupid. But on the ground, finish him. GnP or a choke...just something to say you beat him. Regardless of how you feel about it, I'm pretty sure the majority of MMA fans (and even Dana White) wouldn't be happy paying to see a fight like that (and that goes for Kimbo too). But Nelson is the one being touted as the odds on favorite to win the competition. And if that's all the guy who last got KTFO by Andrei Arlovski can bring to the table, he's not going anywhere.
Roy's win due to noogies via fat ass jiu-jitsu was lame.
Ha, I never thought about it being noogies. I like how the team was chanting out every unanswered noogie that he threw. I also like where Roy said word for word that he was going to tap him in the head while holding him down to get the ref to stop it. And there they were counting.

It was a sad fight, but in all honesty from my personal MMA beginnings with Elite-XC I saw this coming. In the Arlovski fight he did the same thing, which I was expecting again in this fight; except his strategy would work since Elite-XC was against ground fighting. Also Arlovski doesn't have a bad ground game himself; which just proves Roy is a FATASS!

Seriously, like N8 I would have no problem with Roy if he had some things needed to be popular. This lie down and pray(to the ref) strategy doesn't do much for me...If Kimbo had been rocked OK, but that was just boring. Also for their big names, you're damn right Dana is mad his top competitors on TUF can't even put on a good fight!

your feelings can be hurt all day, but roy nelson IS a bjj blackbelt. an accomplishment no one can detract from, and proof of ground skills far beyond what he exhibited in that fight.

That's my problem. He IS a black belt in bjj. He's a professional fighter. He should put on a better performance than that. What true fighter only wants to do "just enough" to win? Why wouldn't he want to truly finish the fight? I'm taking nothing away from Nelson's skills, because they're obviously very good. It just sucks to see a fighter not want to live up to his potential.

apparently thats his deal. he doesnt have training partners or a team. it seems he wants to see how ittle he can do and win. well see how it all turns out, this isnt uncut stuff hes being made to look this way who knows how accurate it is.

Exactly, and that's why he doesn't deserve a spot in the UFC. Whether he wins the competition or not, he fights like a shitty fighter. I mean, look at all the hell Anderson Silva recently caught for being cautious with his fights...and he had a proven track record. Nobody is going to pay to see Nelson win on technicalities.

I agree with the part about the "wonders of editing". But even they can't put words in people's mouths and have the coaches call Roy uncoachable. I found an entry from Roy's journal concerning the issue:

http://www.spike.com/blog/roy-nelson-attitude/87211

The best part of this episode is my so-called attitude adjustment, which really wasn't anything more than a misunderstanding on how the coaches and I operate. The first thing we were doing was grappling drills that I thought were stupid. They were stupid. These are drills where you start on your knees and grapple live. In every fight I have ever been in or watched, they never started on the knees. Thus the supreme stupidity of the drill.

I even asked my coaches if they have ever started there and of course they replied "NO," and I said, "My point exactly." This is where I ruffled some feathers. Next, they brought me into the back where I was told how uncoachable I am with all their nonsense and how they know what is best for us this season. They also mentioned that I wanted to be my own coach, which I was since I was not training partners with the Jackson camp. My coaches said they “would coach us all the same."

That is when I had to come out with the TRUTH HATCHET and say "BULLS***" when they kept saying they were “going to coach us the same." So then I expressed my concerns that they suck as friends. Who needs enemies when your friends that don't want you to your very best? Then pretty much everyone's, and my, attitude were adjusted.

Still sounds like a jackass who has no respect for people who have achieved a hell of a lot more than he has. If you're working with coaches who have had great success in MMA, and they want you to roll around on the mat and do the worm, you fucking do it. That's what being coached is all about. You trust that the exercises have a purpose, and that someone else might know a little more than you do. Being insubordinate makes the coaches look bad and sets a bad example for your teammates.

Who are you to doubt the TRUTH HATCHET, Nate? ;)

I just watched last week's episode and I have to agree with most that that was a shitty fight. I do hope Kimbo comes back, though. Throughout this show, I have gained a lot of respect for him, and you can tell he's working hard even though he's still not as good as he should be to compete on TUF.

Dream Spoiler:
Haha, Fernandes subbed Joe Warren with an armbar in 42 seconds. The ref stopped it before Warren tapped, but the only thing that was going to happen to Warren was that he was going to get a broken arm. I'm thrilled to see that hype train derailed. Warren took him down right at the start of the fight, which makes no sense. Why would you take a guy who is super skilled in BJJ to the ground?
Thanks for not spoiling it. I can't believe I forgot about this!
You should definitely catch the replay if you get a chance. Really good event, especially the GP final.

Hopefully Coleman's knee injury is actually retirement.

The Nov. 7th Strikeforce card is fucking stacked.

Fedor vs. Brett Rogers
Jake Shields vs. Jason "Mayhem" Miller
Fabricio Werdum vs. Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva
Mousasi vs. Sokojdou

Also rumored is Bobby Lashley vs. Ron Waterman.

Awesome card, CBS?
Anyone know where I can find a stream for WEC tonight? fucking DirecTV doesn't carry Versus anymore.
Oh nice. Thanks for the reminder. The Cerrone vs Henderson fight should be sweet. :boxing:

Another WEC event that was more exciting and entertaining that the recent UFC events.

The ref in the Jansen vs Cunkilton match was killing me with the stand ups. He was seriously standing the fighters up after 10 seconds on the ground while they were still working.

The main event was exciting throughout all five rounds. That's quite a feet to fill 25 minutes of nonstop action and still look fresh the entire time.

The main event, was amazing....Can someone explain to me how the hell that guy got away with his arm intact, it seemed it was all the way reversed! And he won, wow...And yes, it was way better than the last UFC PPV events, all the way up till the main event, and all for free on VS. way to go DishNetwork!
Just saw the Cerrone Henderson fight. Great match but I whole heartedly disagree with the decision.
I do as well. I thought the rounds were all decisive and had Cerrone winning 3 of the 5 rounds.

I agree it was great! Exactly was it Jansen who was working various subs and he nearly stood them up when he almost had one? The main event will be debated for a long time but neither fighter should be disappointed it was a great fight. Unfortunately, this stuff happens when you go to a decision.

I didn't realize Jorge Gurgel was released from the UFC and signed by Strikeforce. I noticed him as the headline for the Challenger Series coming to my town. I'll be picking up tickets soon.

lol rampage choose all the biggest dudes in TUF, and they are all getting there asses owned by the little guys... he might 0-5.. he probably will even get swept this season

Cerrone Henderson fight was amazing just rewatched it with the sound off... I think that Henderson really won it . Sometimes I think that the commentary really affects the viewer's opinions.

I still think Cerrone won rounds 1, 4, and 5. However, I think that round 1 was definitely very, very close and could have gone either way. Incredible fight.

I just hope Marcus Jones gets to fight. They've been hinting at his injury the whole season, but in next week's preview, it looked like two white guys rolling when it was saying "Someone gets hurt and Kimbo gets a 2nd chance". I like Marcus, and just want to see a monster like him fight. The reason all of Rampage's "big guys" have lost so far is because they've all fought like retards. I don't think that would happen to Marcus.

Wes Sims has always sucked (I'll never forget when he tried to crush Frank Mir's skull with his feet, and then acted like HE had been cheated out of a win), but he looked like he was moving in slow motion out there. And where the hell did he get the idea that throwing a front kick would be smart??? I didn't see any of the coaches telling him to throw kicks. He got taken down so easily because of that, and then Wren just had his way with him.

I loved the part about the old school Hulk Hogan act, though. I would have died if Wes would have "Hulked Up". I don't think I've ever seen an MMA ref do that, but outside of the cheesiness of it, I guess it's effective if the guy's face is turning red and he's squinting/closing his eyes anyway. Well played, Herb Dean. Well played indeed.
