Modern Warfare 2 CAG Clan - Wednesday/Friday @ 7PST/10EST

I had to run after we had those rage quitters in the Favela Domination match.

Mad has no room to talk about c-blocking.....there was at least 3 times in that match that I had someone in my sights only to see YOU kill them from another angle before I could get a shot off. Guess I should be careful talking since I know I did that a couple times to you. I was just glad to get off my predator before they rage quit.

I must say that it didn't help in the first match that I thought I needed to empty a clip each time I shot at someone....must have been trigger finger rust. Much better after that...think the only other time I was on the k-d borderline was in underpass when Mad & Snake raped the other team. Pablo, Harrier, Pablo....with several predators thrown in.

I will be out until a week from Friday.....while I will be around, I will be working some long hours.

Mad - when you do your akimbo UMP, what perks are you running? I just unlocked that on my run through last night and might play with it a bit.
"I shall return."
Is this something like herpes, my wife's aunt that visits every month, or closer to Cartman spouting off in South Park?

The first one is really erratic and comes and goes as it pleases (generalization from what I've heard). The second one is more regular, but you cannot give an exact forecast as to when she will visit or for how long. The last one, well....that's one that just keeps talking trash, teases people with promise (go with me there) and then never shows up.

Annoying game last night on Terminal. That F-ing javelin camper... you know that one. And then that guy(s) running with blast shield, WTF. Well, that was more "wth is this guy doing" until I realized that hey, that is kind of smart if you dont normally use your equipment and are facing barrage of noob toobers.

That favela domination match was the suck. First the other team started (or seemed to all be) noob toobers. Fine if you want to play that way, so can I. Then next thing I know there are speed runners knifing from behind. And then of course at 199 the host pulls the plug (because they were at 199

Heh, funny that you mention that, because Fred and I had a great little exchange of words over kill stealing that I just got a kick out of. Went something like this:

TMB: Aw Fred, you stole my kill.
Fred: Did I? Oh well, there's plenty more to go around.
TMB: No there's not, it's team death match!
Fred: Oh, I just realized that after I said it.
TMB: *facepalm*

I don't Akimbo my UMP, I'm not a fan of spray and pray, even though it's effective it's wasteful on a gun like the UMP which I've used to 3 shot people across the map with a silencer. I do however condone Blinging any Sub-machine gun with Rapid Fire and Silencer, it lays down a sick amount of accurate bullets. I'd only Akimbo the handguns, machine pistols or perhaps the two shotguns, pretty much anything other than the SMGs. When I was playing around with Akimbo I think I used a perk set up like Bling, Stopping Power and Steady Aim. Akimbo Silenced/FMJ on the Bling side.

How are the Akimbo UMPs? I've picked them up on the field before, but I think they waste too many inaccurate bullets. I hate hip firing any gun other then my Spas-12 when I run with that, its too wasteful IMO.

Plus, how many of you guys run with Bling on? I like the perk, but I use Claymores a lot and with Bling I always run out of everything and I don't like picking things up on the field.

My running class is: akimbo MP5K (SPAS secondary), marathon pro, lightweight pro, steady aim pro. Basically flank em and drop em, never see me coming. Usually can get double or triple kills because of their spawning on top of each other when I get to em. Without steady aim though, akimbo sucks balls for killing more than 20-30 feet away. With steady aim I can usually get distance shots (50 feet or so) about quarter way through the clip... yeah wasteful but boy does that work wonders, they basically turn around right when steady aim centers fire.

Don't you run out of ammo after one kill using Akimbo MP5Ks and no Scavenger or Stopping Power? Steady Aim sounds good on it though, because I've used Akimbo weapons without it and it sucks. Couldn't hit air without Steady Aim.

nah, I can usually reload after the first batch of kills, second batch of kills, and third, but by then I either run out of ammo at 6-8 kills or die. When I do run out, I just switch to either AA12 or SPAS and when I run out then, I grab whatever is near. With the running speed and steady aim you should be able to get the drop on lots of people and if not, blind fire should help against those who see you and waste time trying to ADS (aim down sight).

Not bad. I wonder if the class could really be great with Scavenger + Lightweight + Steady Aim. Lightweight will allow you to move pretty fast when you are moving, and you won't run out of ammo. I like this class, might use it because I love flanking enemies and coming up behind them when they don't notice me.

BTW, I think I'm one of those guys who try to ADS when I should hip fire.

I do it far too often myself.....I think the only time I knowingly catch myself not doing it is when I have a shotgun and they are close.

Yes, I only hip fire on instinct when I have the shotgun. Otherwise, I lose a fire fight every now and again because I try to ADS when I have a Tar or something.

For my gameshare guys, I just set up my paypal account, apparently in 2-3 business days I can confirm the amounts they deposit to confirm my account. Go figure. Anyway, thanks for bearing with me.

Every once in a while things need to be reiterated again, I guess it's just one of those times. If you're not used to playing with a team, just listen to directions and try to follow the below tenants of generally not getting your teammates killed.

1) Do NOT listen to the idiot fucking 12 year old telling you which point to capture in Domination.

2) Do NOT bunch up when you hear Predators, Stealth Bombers, Javelins or noob tubes coming your way. Learn to recognize the sounds of them launching and politely scatter AWAY from your teammates.

3) Learn to use a silencer and possibly Ninja Pro. Your footsteps are a distraction to those of us listening for footsteps. If I'm sneaking around, you making a shit ton of noise is not helping.

4) If your teammate is next to you... DO NOT DRAW FIRE TO THEIR POSITION. If I'm killing some guys but not doing it quick enough for your liking, so much so that you want to rush over to my vantage point and start shooting, that would be a very bad idea and every time you do it, I'm going to have reservations about playing with you because you keep getting me killed.

I failed to hit my third killstreak(EAD) today. 2/3rds of my deaths were due to somebody opening fire next to me or people bunching up. At this point, it's a step backwards, please step your game up accordingly, you're not playing Free For All anymore. Running and gunning is fine but now you're playing with a team, run and gun away from them because you're getting people killed by showing up on the enemy radar.

Please, please, please think about what you're doing when you do it. There is a reason why I sneak away half way across the map by my self, it's not so you can die, spawn and screw up me flanking the enemy team.
Yeah I was kind of kill whoring with that RPG tonight. Sorry about that, I'll try to follow those guidelines more next game night.
No worries. I don't care how you guys choose to play, how cheap you decide to be to the opposing team or anything like that. I just know that we had a 10 to 15 kill lead during several matches and we lost a few of those matches at the end. The goal is if you're going to do something stupid, don't drag your team down with you. I've done my share of running and gunning, I've also told people flat out don't follow me because I'm doing something stupid.

I always, always rock a silencer, so my shooting never shows up on radar unless I'm noob tubing. If I'm next to you, I'm already trying to get away from you and every other teammate. There is nothing for me to gain being surrounded by the team when the opposing team is clearly trying to kill all of you. If you see me, it's not for long because I actively avoid everybody and go to where our team isn't, as usually there are people to kill there. I'm not lone wolfing it, I'm actively herding them towards you guys and you have to think about how you want to herd the enemy around instead of just killing them.

Every game type is about herding the opposing team into a certain direction/area so you can kill them easier. In TDM if you push too deep into their spawn, it'll switch our spawns. In Domination, capping all 3 points leads to random spawning on the enemy team, only capping 2 points ties them down to that 1 spawn point, anybody inside that spawn point will push their spawn randomly outwards. Certain spawn points give you better killing options, for instance holding A and B on Estate lets you hold the house and the high ground that comes with that. Other areas you have to cap because you'll never recover them once the fighting starts.

We have to communicate, but be wary about communicating to the random people we join up with. I usually mute them because I know they're not going to follow my direction, I also know that I don't want to hear their opinions. One of the idiot 12 year olds tonight was saying we should have snipers working on the people shooting inside the Estate house, WHY? If we had the luxury of using a whole team of snipers, nothing would get done. Ignore non-teammates, you have a team, you have tons of support, you have people who are capable killers, all you have to do is contribute to the overall goal.

Roger, going to step up my game some more.

I just realized that I need to keep my akimbo running class, because stopping to aim just takes too long. Everyone should have at least one class that has a silencer/ninja combo, because sooner or later people should realize that stealth is much more efficient for flanking than heavy soled noob toobers, since they can really hear you from a mile away, and yes you do show up on radar so you wont be alive long enough to string together multiple kills.

And I want to let everyone know, if there is an enemy air unit up, and you are not rocking cold blooded, keep your distance from me while I shoot it down. Time and again it is always the non cold blooded guy running towards me that gets me killed right before I can take something down. And enemy air needs to go down as soon as it arrives, or they will just chain another kill streak.

Great night tonight guys, it's always great having Seuss and Fred along for the ride. I ended up Prestiging tonight, so I'm going to be somewhat useless until I get the initial 30 levels in but thankfully I've been practicing with the starter weapons so I don't need to brush up to be effective.

seconded. how many pablos can someone call in...

that favela match just sucked ballz. never have I had such a negative k/d, 13/44. We have to try that strategy, cause it was so frustrating. I dont even know how they didnt push our spawn because they were all up in our shiznit.

i wasnt playing tonight and am currently drunk posting...but i try to follow all the things mad says even though i shit the bed pretty bad all the time...that being said i will remember these points..

BFGN = Bump For Game Night.

No worries Snore, it's just been lately we've been getting a mix of really really shitty people to play against. For instance one Favela match last night we were fighting off multiple nuke attempts while being badly spawn camped. I know we wouldn't have won that match if we didn't work together since there were multiple Harriers, Chopper Gunners and AC130s pounding us once A was destroyed. The only better person to lead us in that match would have been Nubbles since he's very, very familiar with spawn camping like that and that usually makes him pretty beastly when it comes to anticipating their moves.

That all said, I don't mind going negative for that since nobody on our side was positive but we scraped by on the skin of our teeth somehow and that made such a painful match worth while. I hope we all learned a little about how we ended up being camped like that and what set ups to switch to so we can turn the tables quickly. I know most of my trouble was from not having a strong gun set up to deal with them.

The only real way to keep someone as only one spawn on the map is to have tactical insertion set up. It's also pretty tricky since there are thresholds that the spawn camping team must be cognizant of or else the other team will spawn somewhere else.

A good example of this is when we were spawn camping some noobs on terminal (this was the game where seuss predator missled the entire enemy team). They kept spawning in that little shop because our team never passed the corner or airplane (we just shot through instead). In any case, I think spawn camping is cheap both when my team is doing it and especially when it's being done to me. The game can be pretty broken as is (host advantage) so there's really no need to make the game ever more broken.

And for the record, I was the little weasel who snuck out and planted on that favela match.

I think they were more interested in spawn camping to boost their kills/killstreaks than actually winning the game. Good thing they didnt get a nuke. And yeah, this game is broken in so many ways, I just wish IW/Activision would at least make an attempt to patch this piece of crap game, because I actually like playing with all you guys.

When we got camped on Favela they had one guy in the farthest corner lying down, which is apparently far enough to not push our spawn to the opposite side and they had people coming up the middle, leaving route down the hill straight open towards the bomb. I'm going to say if you're on the edge of the map in the upper spawn, that it won't actually push it. It needs to be tested and if I get a couple people I'll definitely check that out.

They really just need to take out auto-aim. That would solve the majority of the issues in the game. I hate dying because auto aim lowers my reticule as I'm running into somebody. I can deal with the rest of the spawn camping and things like that. There is no way around host advantage except by having a good host, however the other half is the shitty PSN protocols don't let me utilize my full speed or I'd probably be 4 bar'ing the whole team.

What I may do is if you guys have static IPs I'll see if I can figure out a way to add a higher priority or find some way to tinker with the routing table. I'd need a guinea pig with a distant connection to me to test that out though. That'd probably fall under Mr. Nowlive or you, Kaiser.

In Favela is that on the "top" side of the map with the cars or the bottom side of the map? From reading this, I'd think you were talking the top of the map....

As for routing tables, that's not going to work only for the simple fact that you only control the next hop - which isn't going to change. Actually, I think we are stuck as is....I know that I've tinkered with my setup as much as possible and have the best possible connection for the time being. I've noticed a bunch of improvement and although still only a 3 bar to Mad, the lag has dropped considerable. I sometimes notice a bit if we are in Ground Wars, but not like before with it being every match.

If I am on before the weekend, it will be only for a match or two...got a long commute to/from work through Wednesday.

While I am on my soapbox, everyone read and listen to what Mad said about game play. I (stupidly) prestiged and finally got back to having Cold Blooded but feel naked with Ninja....thus I was rarely running around people....though now that I have a couple of silenced weapons that might change. I think the only thing that I would add is feel free to cap an opposing player with whatever weapon necessary if he has a jump on a teammate....at that point the area has already been compromised...just move away from there after shooting.

Just send me and nakanenui(aka Kaiser)a friend request, we're usually around most nights and we're currently the main organizers of peoples. We make every effort to invite new people as much as possible but send a message back if you're not going to play that invite because if we get no response, we'll stop sending invites after it's happened 4 to 5 times.

See Mad, my question (due to my logical thinking) is this - is your friend using your PS3? If not, WTF is he doing "on" your account?

Now, back to my side bar - it's peanut better jelly time!

Mad - I take back all those comments about things being better....while my lack of sleep due to the weekend didn't help my shooting (yes, most of this probably IS my fault) it certainly did not have a thing to do with seeing me headshot a guy 3 times only to watch the killcam and notice I was "aiming" about 30 degrees to the left of him according to the killcam. Still, Trailer Park Trash was the most aggravating...seeing my tube hit the care package and not kill either guy next to it......I need beer, but am off of the juice for 11 days....trust me....Chicago wasn't kind to me this weekend.

Have fun and maybe I'll be on....need to see about getting on for a while and getting to 31 so I can go commando...wait, that's ninja as I am already going commando....too.....much....info....

Friend using PS3 when i was out of town.

I don't know what it is but lately I've noticed something very odd the past few days. Even when I'm Host, I lag and see other people lag, I'm not sure if it's the PSN protocols being broken for other people or if something changed on my end. I really have no clue as to why I'm thinking the problem may be on my end but the signs point back to me someway, somehow. I'll have to investigate and probably reset my router next gaming session, things are just getting weird.

I've had an absolute lag-tastic, garbage connection since around 2 weeks ago. It takes me forever to find a game (up over 100ping), and when/if I finally do, my ps3 has been freezing (while its trying to load the match). The only time I can connect easily is if one of you (usually Mad) invites me to a game. and even then, i'm only 2 or 3 bar. Which is absolutely KILLING me, 'cause all I wanna do is get to that 1st prestige.

Okay so I bought the triton ax pros and cant wait to try it out with my new tv tomorrow night btw is capture the flag back yet lol

A suggestion: per senor Mads advice, we should probably let them come to us in TDM. If we hold down a whole side and pick them off as they run at us, then we should be able to keep our leads. It seems that we take an early lead only to let them catch up and overtake us most times. I would not call this camping so much as holding down a side. Then senor Mad can flank the crap out of the other team.

I had to take a break last night to help with the baby, and make dinner, so I was off for the remainder of the games. If only they had double xp weekends more often. Anyone know someone at IW that they can convince to make that more frequent, instead of only when they want to make money on map packs.

Idk, usually the headsets are only really good for SnD. Mostly because everybody is usually sneaking around and you're trying to hear them. The ones I have are basically useless in GW or anything else, because you can hear the gun fire and movement, but since there's so much it kinda over loads you.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I think the same could apply to Domination and Ground War too, if you are able to have half the team hold down one flag and the other half of the team hold down another flag. It would be even easier with a noobtube (range), though I realize some people are morally against those.

All of that is attributed to the user. I can filter out a metric ton of noise and even with my TV simulating surround sound, I can pick a direction gunfire comes in, a knife wiffing, footsteps or where explosions come from. Kefka has his headset that does him phenomenal and even with my minimal surround sound experience, I've seen what he can do with his headset and without, it's all about the user.

I also back the headset....however I will add you have to actively listen and it requires concentration. Lately I've been too tired to care too much about intently listening in on everything....even when I do it seems like my knife has been 1 bar ping too slow.

May be on for a bit later....
I also back the headset....however I will add you have to actively listen and it requires concentration. Lately I've been too tired to care too much about intently listening in on everything....even when I do it seems like my knife has been 1 bar ping too slow.

May be on for a bit later....
Yeah, occasionally I'll bitch to somebody about their footsteps because I'll turn around ready to fire at a teammate who just clomps and stomps. It does take a lot of concentration but when you do it, it's like becoming Neo in the Matrix, you just pwn people so badly they call you a cheater when they infringe upon your camp. Eventually you'll learn just to react once your ears learn what the sounds are and commit them to memory, the initial part really is more trial and lots of error.
