you cannot be serious,lol....their OWN computer system is set up to sell them at 3.99...many other people have gotten this price. in fact, if you read earlier, I posted the ONLY directive from HWV corporate regarding people doing shit they shouldn't be.
Some people are buying the 3.99 games, and trading them at a different HWV. Now, if I ran HWV, this would be an incentive to stop the sale....but you know what? They didn't. They stopped accepting last gen trades. That should show you how much they want to run this sale. Just because a few people got 10 or 15 games marked down too low isn't going to affect a single thing. Go cry about the sky falling somewhere else.
FIRST---I asked every manager point blank when this sale was over. They all said that they have received no info from corporate. I then asked if the sale ended Tues, would they have gotten the notice by now. They all said yes, normally, they will get almost a weeks notice that the sale is over...ymmv. I'm going to do as much as possible tomorrow night just in case.
Disclaimer--I am not bragging in this post. I am posting what I did tonight in hopes it helps other CAGers get the best possible deals.
RENTAL CONVERSIONS-- HWV and MG both had letters sent from corporate several months ago stating that they are NOT to do this. Until then, most stores would do it provided there were multiple copies, or the title was dead as a rental. Now, like any corporate policy that gets changed, some employees either don't know it was changed, forgot, don't care at all and do what they want, or generally honor the change but bend the rules now and then. I drove almost an hour to hit a MG tonight, and they had about 150 last gen titles, almost all sports titles though, and no viable flips. The girl working asked what I was looking for, and began calling around. One of the stores she talked to told her that she would convert the 3 she had named as my wantlist (Zelda TP, LBM, and Mercs2). After hanging up, she said that she wasn't sure why the girl was doing it, but that they were being held for me. She then called her manager, and asked him if she could do it. He told her no, but that he is going to come in this week and look into it to reduce inventory. I volunteered to leave my name/number so he can call me and go over what he wants to get rid of, or if he wants to know what I'd be willing to buy. I drove to the other store(yet another hour away). They had about 10 games used total for sale. I asked her if she would convert more. She said that if I would get the ones I wanted, she would look in the computer and see if had been rented recently. I picked out about 20 total. She had already converted LBM and Mercs2 because they had so many. She did Zelda TP because it hadnt been rented in months. The first store I went to was absolutely loaded...they had at least 10 LBM, 5 Madden 09, etc...just tons of inventory.

I then went to the HWV also in the same town. They had a very limited selection for a HWV. This is the first store I decided that I would assume 3.99 on everything and see how they reacted and see how it came out. They rang up the following transaction and did 3.99 on it all....I then again said that I wanted to grab some more games, but the second time they caught it and the guy was torn, he wanted to honor what they did the first transaction, but he knew it was wrong. The computer accepting the coupons threw him for a loop. The 3.99 also worked on a DS game (we did know that it would already from someone earlier in the thread)

I also learned that the MG(well this is what the girl who was calling all over told me) sends their trade ins to a distribution facility. This is likely where the boxes that show up at HWV come from.
Iwent back and grabbed Mass Effect, 2 more BFBC, Untold Legends, one other one, ,but could not complete the transaction
I run a low voltage company's security division. We mostly work new construction only. I do not handle commercial security, like access control and camersa, just the residential arm. I also have a little side business buying clearance and closeouts and reselling them...obviously the game flipping is an offshoot of that. If I didn't trade them to BB, I would still be buying games on sale and making a profit. Luckily, my real job makes me drive all around in a 75 mile radius or so, so it's easy enough to hit the GSs, Targets,BBs, CCs, whatever I need to hit all over this area when I have to drive it anyway
