NCAA Online Dynasty

I have no idea how or why I just had so much trouble against Hawaii. I pulled out a 49-46 win after 5 OTs! I deserve to drop in the rankings after this one. Oh, and I lost my best WR for the season. Wonderful.

Advanced it. I have a bye this week and you play Ball State.

I will play tonight hopefully, but if not, I will early tomorrow morning.

Glad you were able to pull out the win at least, that is quite the game. How are the rest of your WRs looking?

I think I've got a decent #2 but the guy I lost was my fastest and highest rated. My #3 is a freshman that I picked up recruiting last season so we'll see how good he is or isn't. Luckily I've got a great TE to throw to.

By the way, it says I have two restarts and I have no clue why. I lost that one game to the freeze but never restarted a second time. Unless the 2nd restart is the 2nd time around after the freeze? Seems like that would say 1 restart but maybe I'm over thinking it. Just thought it was worth mentioning in case you saw that.

This is ridiculous. I have gotten disconnected from EA servers 3 times this morning, but no internet issues connecting to other game servers or downloading/browsing on my PC. I got disconnected after about 15 mins into recruiting and couldn't reconnect for about a half hour. Then I started my game and got to the 3rd quarter before disconnected (up 17-10) and then almost immediately into my next game. Frustrating. I might Super Sim most of my game when I do try again in hopes of actually finishing it, and I am tired of playing Ball St at this point as well.

No problem, however you want to get through it is fine with me. Some days the EA server just stinks and I guess this is one of them. Do you play over wifi or a wired connection? For what it's worth, I've found that I have fewer issues with EA when I'm wired in.

I finally got the game completed and am ready to advance. I didn't do any Super Sim, handled them pretty easily. I am super glad to be done with Ball St finally.

Advanced t and then got my ass handed to me by Maryland 48-18. Second time in two games I've given up over 40. Not sure why my defense can't stop anyone. I think I was one of the best defenses in the league past season.

I played yesterday but didn't get around to posting about it. I was prophetic about my own future, as I lost as well, 31-20. I had a 20-17 lead with 2 mins to go and driving deep into Iowa St territory when a pick gave them the ball on my own 10 and an unbelievable series of events occurred (several times, their QB shook off sack attempts to take off or throw for big gains..so angry!). They scored a TD late to take the lead for good and I threw another INT in a last ditch effort to drive. Instead of being noble and taking the knee, they threw a long pass against my unprepared defense and got a TD as time expired. Never seen the CPU do that.

Unbelievable. I've never seen that either. Did the AI just get more difficult in year 2? Why do we both suddenly suck? At least your's isn't a Big10 loss like mine.

i should be able to get online late tonight to advance and play.

lol, I know man, it is insane. It is probably because we had a little layoff between seasons and just need to knock the rust off. I bet we still both finish in the Top 25 this year.

Unsurprisingly lost to Clemson who was ranked #14. I spent the whole game trying to cover Sammy Watson and they didnt throw to him. Then at a key point in the game I forgot about him and he lit me up for two big catches. Lost 31-15.

I definitely hurt myself by creating a difficult schedule. Maryland was rated in the 90s and Clemson was a high 90. I think I have a few easy games coming up thankfully.

I started my game this morning in hopes I could get it in before my little one awoke. I did not and ended up turning my PS3 off after a few hours as it gets hot. I didn't even get the first drive finished. I will try to get it in later today.

Any thoughts on giving Madden another shot? I don't usually flip my opinion on most games, but I have to admit that I gave Madden another shot and am enjoying it more. We could do a slower paced one if we want to keep the focus on NCAA. Up to you, I have no problem just playing it alone if need be.

Finished my game, defense had a strong showing but my offense still is inconsistent. Started off 5 for 6 passing, then missed on 7 of my next 8 passes, including 2 picks before righting the ship and doing well in the 4th quarter. Won 21-3 in Pittsburgh.

I just noticed we are both going after the top TE prospect. You are 2nd and I am 4th, but I am like 700 PTs behind you and 800 behind the leader. I will prob have to back off as I doubt I can catch ya on him. Too bad since he is a stud too.

I'll have to check on that TE and let you know if I am pouring points in or not. I am definitely up for Madden. What's your take on the difficulty level? I tried starting a fantasy draft and played a few games and I found the games to be even and exciting on all madden. Then I started a Jets franchise on all madden and couldn't stop the computer at all despite the fact that the jets have the best run defense in the NFL. Went two or three games without getting a turnover and particularly struggled against the run.

I guess what I am saying is:
1). Should we play all madden or all pro (which I am almost positive is going to be too easy for us)
2). Should we use sliders at all?
3). Should we do a fantasy draft? If we play NFL teams I will use the jets but also will probably lose a lot

I still have our NCAA draft class saved so we can use that. I'm fine with our current pace if you are and we can implement the same for madden. With just us two it seems to move along fairly steadily. I think we have similar amounts of interest and free time.

Advanced.  I am no longer ranked but am going to play Miami (OH) right now and hopefully will obliterate them to climb back in.  You're #8!

Wait a minute....didn't you lose to Iowa St?  I'm online right now and it says you won 45-17.  You posted a few days ago that you lost 31-20.  What happened?  Did you not finish the game because it sounds like it didn't register and the computer played your game and won.

I just lost again, to Miami (OH) in overtime.  I'm beside myself.  What's in the water in Ann Arbor???

That is odd. I did not win that game. Maybe I lost connection to the server while I had it paused for awhile. I can't think of anything it may be. I will throw my next game to even it out. I will Super Sim it and if I am winning, will take control and bomb it on purpose.

I think I am going to pick up like a 100 ft ethernet cable so I can run it from my modem since my ps3 is in a different room.

Edit - BTW, I did my recruiting for the week, so since I have a bye, I am ready to advance.

No need to throw a game. Ill try to advance later. I still can't believe I lost to Miami OH. I was winning with little time left and missed a FG in OT because I was trying to play it safe. Horrible game and season for me. What do you want to do for madden? I would love to set that up later tonight and start playing.

I can take a team in the AFC East if you want, so we play each other a few times at least. Since you are going to take the Jets, I can take the Bills. I assume they are probably close in ratings in Madden.

As far as difficulty goes, that is a good question. Do you want to start off on All Madden, default sliders, and we can make slider adjustments if it is just too frustrating?

NP, I haven't had time to play anyhow. I might try to play around 10 or so tonight if have a chance to. I will definitely hop on and accept the invite tonight regardless so we can start the activities. If you can hop on around 10 or so tonight, we could coordinate all preseason activities so we can blow through them at once and get the season started.

Going to a movie at 10 but will be on later. As for preseason, I'm ok simming all games if you are. Based on your preference I can also turn off injuries for preseason so we don't lose Geno or Spiller before we even start. By the way, what are your plans for next-gen? I'm definitely getting a PS4 but haven't decided whether to upgrade Madden or not.

Yea simming with injuries off works for me. The only thing I was concerned with was cuts, but I doubt anything major will happen.

As for next gen, I won't be making the jump for awhile sadly. I cancelled my PS4 preorder a few weeks ago as there just isn't much drawing me to it.

What movie ya checking out?

It's 8pm now. I should be home soon and will advance both leagues and play at least one game.

At least if we suck we can import the NCAA guys and have some fun with that.

I lost to the Bucs 44-33. I don't think I've played a game yet on all madden where the CPU hasn't scored 35+. Lets see how you do. I did at least have the ball a lot. Geno Smith was 23-33, 457 yards, 2 TDs, 4 INTs, 2 more rushing TDs, and one fumble lost. I'm pretty sure that's a crazy stat line even by video game standards. Regardless, Bucs shouldn't be scoring 44 on the Jets D

I lost to NE, 28-18. I had a 10-7 lead at halftime, but Brady completed 14-14 passes in the second half and they put up 3 TDs. Spiller ran for 50 yards on my first drive, but got hurt at the end of it. By the time he came back in the 3rd quarter, he was shut down.

I still had a chance late though, I was down 21-10 in the 4th and I scored a TD and a 2pt conversion to pull within 3. They, of course, passed all over me to get down to the redzone where I caused a fumble after a completion and recovered on my own 7 yard line. A booth review overturned it and they punched it in a few plays later. :(

I only had 1 INT with Manuel though and that was on my very last drive, I drove down to their 6 yard line with about 30 seconds left, but they picked off his next pass. My WRs were a bigger problem than EJ. I feel a little better than I did about the team though. I lost, but I like em. I still feel .500 will be a challenge though. CPU on All Madden is just unstoppable, as you mentioned.

That's the way I prefer to play too but I've been struggling with the run game lately. I just advanced madden and will advance NCAA in a few minutes.

Lost 35-28 in OT. I didn't stop one drive of theirs. The defense is just so mindnumbingly stupid on All Madden, I don't get it.

I'm playing right now.  When you have a minute, take a look at the sliders on all madden.  The problem in my opinion is that the sliders are set way down for the user.  Things like pass coverage and pass reaction are at 25, whereas on all pro they are at 50.  The CPU has it at 50 regardless of difficulty setting.  I'm wondering if we increase the CPU's skill, instead of dumbing down our skill, if that'll help.

Lets give it a shot. That seems to be the biggest problem just from eyeballing a few games on All Madden. My defenders in coverage don't do anything on their own. I am sure it is the same problem for you.

Exactly the same.  I somehow won, 42-35.  I stopped the Pats twice! (although both during their two minute drill when I knew they were throwing long).  Geno didn't throw a pick this game and there were no fumbles, and he had two passing and one rushing TD.  Basically took a perfect game offensively to win.  I'm going to keep the slider differential the same but do it as we said (i.e. where user has 25 and CPU 50, I'll make it user 50 and CPU 75).  This way at least our players are as good as they've always been in the past and its the CPU that's better.  I may try to get one more game in tonight so we'll see.  Advancing as soon as I'm done fixing the sliders.

Ha figures that you and I play Week 3 so we won't get to test the sliders.  Let me know when you're available.  I'll be around tonight if you want to play.

I would, but I am watching the game with my oldest, then likely going to bed. How about tomorrow night, around 9pm?

Congrads on the win, sounds like it was pretty much a perfect game. I think our offenses work well, but getting some more responsive defense will make it a better game.

Tomorrow night I won't be able to play at 9pm but later is a possibility (but not definite).  If not, some other nights this week should work for me.

Thats cool, Tuesday or Wednesday works for me as well. On Thursday, I am flying back home for the weekend to surprise my dad for his birthday and take him to a Hawkeye game. I won't be back home until late Sunday night.

Sounds like a fun weekend, I'm sure he'll enjoy that. I should be online in a little while if you're around to play.

Sorry we didn't get to throw down in Madden before I took off, didnt see your msg in time to do anything.

I did Super Sim my game for NCAA, we got down 21-0 but got within a TD with 2 mins to go. I took control and threw an INT to make sure I got the loss. I know you said I didn't need to but I really should have had a loss bc I completed that game against ISU.

Very unnecessary but appreciated nonetheless. If you're home Sunday I'll be around all night for madden. Have a good trip.
