Upon reading OPs first post, I went to the local CC and picked up GBA HAMTARO: HAM HAM GAMES, GBA HAMTARO, PS2 ARC THE LAD and XBX SECOND SIGHT.

The clerk there was awesome. They hadn't heard anything about the sale, so I pulled up CAG on a pc there for the crew to peruse the titles ahead of time, and pre-warn them.

During the rest of the week, I checked other atlanta CCs and they had zilch. Had to run to Rome, GA, so I stopped at that CC as well, as I made out pretty well at their $5 sale last year. They had pulled all the titles, and the girl wasn't too happy about my asking if there were any Baten Kaitos' in stock, and having to grab one for me.

By the time I read that the sale had started on July 2rd, the stores had already closed, so I skipped outta teaching Sunday School early on Sunday and drove out to Anniston, Alabama. With the timezone change, I made it there before I left, which helped me to get there in time for store opening.

It was funny, there were exactly ZERO of the $9.99 games anywhere to be found. I asked a girl about them, and she couldn't figure out what was going on. Not being in any great hurry to just drive all the way back, I browsed around a little bit, and found 2 copies of La Pucelle Tactics. I thought that had been on clearance last year, so I asked for the price to be checked. 1.99 My heart did a little leap! and I held them like cherished possessions.

A few minutes later, another girl came dragging an empty bin over towards games and I knew the games were a-coming from that mysterious void known to all customers as, "out back."

A nice fellow (who turned out to be a fellow CAGer, Hello Richard!) and I helped the girl as she unpacked the games. Grabbed XBX PROJECT SNOWBLIND, PS2 GUNGRAVE OD, PS2 NIGHTMARE OF DISGAEA, and of course my La Pucelles.

Tuesday, I returned to the Douglasville CC, saw Dennis the awesome clerk, PMed the earlier buys and found XBX THIEF DEADLY SHADOWS and NGC PRINCE OF PERSIA 2 (this is so strange, the GC is the best port of the game which is odd in and of itself, but that's the only version on sale... I'm not complaining, mind you... it's just odd).
The first thing the cashier asked me when I was ringing out was my phone number. She used it to look me up in the system. And then she named my road and asked if I still lived there.

In other words, they have all my info. Hmmm. That is kind of scary now that you mention it...
When I moved, I was moving away from a crazy-ex, so I'm about as unlisted as it's possible to get. Whenever asked for a phone number at a store, you have every right to inform them that you're unlisted, and they can not push the matter. However as we all know, some clerks have the helpless, I can't figure out what to do now attitude upon hearing something unusual, so I generally give an outdated cellphone number, rather than hold up a line as they have to call in a manager to figure out how to cope.

Atlanta, GA?
My local CC (I live in Smyrna, GA - ATL suburb) had no idea about the sale either. I had printed out the list of every last game under $10 (like 4 pages), and when I asked a clerk to help me find the ones I had highlighted, he asked if he could copy the list. He came back ten minutes later and started his own little pile of games he wanted to buy. lol

Check the CC over by Cumberland Mall, nobody around here even pays attention to sales like this (except me).
Is it possible to pricematch at bestbuy and use the $5 coupon, so I could get Gungrave for $5?
I got shot down trying this today - but I'm sure it is YMMV with the employee you get. They told me they don't match coupons, only advertised prices.

I don't have the time to read through this whole thread but I remember someone asked about the PS2 SOCOM's with headsets. I was in the Jantzen Beach Portland CC and they had about 10 of these (as of late Saturday evening). I picked one up because I just started playing SW Battlefront online and it seems a headset might be useful. I know NOTHING about online gaming/headsets/etc. Will the SOCOM one work for other games (I don't see why not but you never know)? I noticed that the normal PS2 headsets are $30. Is the SOCOM one equivalent to those or a much cheaper kind? I really don't even want the game itself, so I'll probably trade it into GR (and get $3 if I'm lucky). So, the question is, is the headset that comes with it worth $7-$8? Or should I not even bother and return it before I open it up (which is why I'm asking instead of testing it out myself).

The Socom headset will work with other games... I just tried it with Fight Night Round 2 and it works fine. BTW, the Socom headset is made by Logitech... I did not know that until I opened the box.

I believe the main difference between the Socom and $30 headset is that the more expensive one has a mute button... other then that, they should be identical (another CAG please correct me if I'm wrong).

I say it's well worth $9.96 but MUTE can come in pretty handy at times (unless you don't mind others hearing your private conversations). I'm happy with the Socom headset but you be the judge of what you want to spend.

The $30 headset is more sturdy and feels more confortable when you wear it. Its got a mute and volume control and a clip so that you can clip it in place instead of having wires move all around. The headset that comes with socom is a bit flimsy. The foam that covers the mic will come off in about 2 weeks of use.

i used the socom headset for splinter cell: chaos theory for the PC. i talked to my friend and he said i sound really different. i sound like a whole new person. i used my other old mic and i sound like myself. and its not logitech. some crappy brand that doesnt use USB.

I couldn't pass it up, last night I bought the last copy of Rumble Roses for $9.96. It's not a good game, if anyone wants to know, but it's worth the price of admission though for $9.96.

Well I made my 3rd trip to CC yesterday in hopes of them maybe getting Mega Man Anniv. in stock for GC. Yeah, of course they still didnt have it. And pickings were pretty slim anyways, pretty much all trash games. There were a couple of GTA packs but I decided not to pick those up. So in my despair I start browsing the GC new section and with my head down, I see Prince of Persia:WW sitting on the bottom row, marked at $50. Hmmm, with a smile on my face and a jump in my step I go to pricecheck it and sure enough its $10. Needless to say, I immediately bought it.

(lookin to trade for MegaMan Anniv. if anyones interested)

I almost bought those exact three games, but realized I would never play them so why waste by money. Was really let down with what was here in Albuquerque.

finally picked up mega man anniversary collection (gc) in commack,ny...

they had a bin near the front of the store, but it was mainly just the xbox titles... alot of the clearance games were on the shelves and still had regular price titles on them... but they had a few games people were having trouble finding, and many copies,im gunna take another look today, wanna pick up the bond game, baten kaitos, silent hill 3, hopefully they have em

Anybody else notice that in todays cc ad it said some PC games on 9.99 clearaance. (in the little box that showed FSW and ratchet2 for 10 dollars)

on the ad they had ratchet and clank" Going comando
full spectrum warrior (ps2)
XIII(ps2 and xbox)
Rainbow six 3 (ps2 and xbox)

edit:

UI can confirm that R&CGC and FSW are in fact $9.99, I can also conrfim that all the CCs near me are no longer accepting the BB $5 off coupon, now that it's clearly a clearence. However I did manage to score SW:BF for $9.99 using one of the BB coupons :)
So does anyone know what PC titles are 9.99?
Apparently Freedom Force vs The Third Reich is 9.99... I wish CC had those price scanners that the customers could use, ala Target, because I'd scan every game over there.
I went to cc and asked about the 9.99 pc games and they said it was probably a misprint...
CC Employees are, 95% of the time, misinformed lazy idiots.

Hell, the CC here didn't even bother to put 50% of the games on the list into the bin, and just left them on the shelf... even though they had a full list.

I'd wait for a knowledgable employee (that last 5%) like DemomanTNA to tells us what's up.
Picked up a copy of Baten Kaitos today. The top plastic wrap is a little ripped but its still sealed.

I"ll trade it for a Copy of Project Snowblind for the XBOX if anyone is interested. Let me know.
fucking A, I check 3 different CCs on day one and get nothing, you find one a week later.
I'll see if I can find a list for the $9.99 PC games at work tomorrow and post it.

Yes, Roufuss, I am a part of that 5%.:D
Awesome, thanks =D

Forgot you worked at CC.

Hmmm... some conflicting info here. I thought I saw that the $30 one was made by Logitech (but in Sony packaging). Anyway, trunks982, are you saying the SOCOM headset is not USB, or were you talking about your older PC mic? If the SOCOM one is not USB, how does it connect? Sorry, I know nothing of these things. The flimsiness is not a big deal to me as I probably wouldn't use it very often and there's no way I'm paying $30 for one. So, depending on what I can get in trade for SOCOM I might just keep it and try it out.

I'm new to this whole online gaming thing. What I've quickly discovered though is that it is hard to find a SW Battlefront game where you don't have a teammate or two who gets off on killing his own teammembers. I should have known I was in trouble last night when a guy named Teamfucker was on my team :D. Now I look for games with team damage off if I can find them.

well i made my rounds back to the commack, ny store again today, didnt score bk or silent hill 3, i was very disappointed, but i looked around for a while and what did i find hidden? the last copy of nightmare of druaga, so i raked in that and r&c:gc

tomorrow i will stop by another cc about a half hour from me, by the smithhaven mall, hopefully find some good grabs there

Can anyone tell me how long this will last and are the clearence prices marked are do you have to know in advance what you are wanting?
I think this last as long as they have the games. However, I saw one of the signs on a bin saying lasting until end of the month.
yes, it does.. people keep pointing this out, why hasnt it been added to the OP

Really strange that I never even noticed that PC games clearance thingie in the ad... I'll see what I can find out too. :)

If any SoCal residents are interested there is a King of Fighters Maximum Impact Collector's Edition at the Huntington Beach store. It's sitting on the shelves and not in the bin. They also have Ratchet & Clank GC non GH versions they just have the red sticker on the shrinkwrap. I also found another La Pucelle there for $2 they must have found one in the back, because I got one last week.

I stopped by CC today to see if the Xbox version of Full Spectrum Warrior was on sale as well. It was not.

The trip was not a total waste though, I picked up Psi-ops (PS2) for $9.99 and Myst Uru Complete Chronicles (PC) for $1.99

I just got Ridge Racer DS in the mail from CC today... I got another coupon. This time it's for $10 off $50 purchase (in my last shipment, it was $10 off $75). This is for BOTH online and B&M.

I probably spent about $250 total during this whole sale.

The fine print says that it's not valid on previous purchases but should I give it a shot anyway and have them take the $10 off from my recipet? Or maybe I could return the games and buy them back right away... do you think they will object to that?

Picked up the Greatest hits version of Ratchet and Clank Going Commando for 9.99 and Project Snowblind for PS2 for 9.96. For some reason it was 3 copper Lincolns cheaper.

Circuit City has emptied my wallet but my Christmas came in July. Thank goodness CC did not sell them to jobbers. Too many games so little time. Oh well.

IIRC, both PS2 and Xbox FSW are pictured in the ad as $9.99. Take the game and a copy of the ad up to customer service and have them ring it up for the advertised price. Since it's in the ad they have to do it. The only way they might be able to avoid this is if corporate sent an ad correction to be posted. I didn't see one today so you probably have a good chance of getting the price change done. Don't let them give you any crap but be nice about it. It's in the ad so they have to honor it, barring a posted ad correction.

That certainly should work, but they gave themselves a loophole by not actually listing the names of the games, but rather "Titles may vary by store" or something like that. But the picture's bigger than the text, so I'd go with that.

Is Nanobreaker any fun really? I've seen the cutscenes and they look incredible but the gameplay looks kinda cheesy. It reminds me a lot of the hidden mini-game in MGS3 (the zombie slasher game). For those still looking for it, there's a lot left in NYC CC's.

True, but I'm just trying to avoid buying games that I might end up a. Not playing due to a truckload of unplayed games that I bought for cheap or b. It sucks and I paid $10 for nothing. I think if there was a pricegrabber rebate I would jump on it since $5 seems a lot less harsh for a mediocre game. :bouncy:

If anyone could get me a copy of Snowblind i´d be willing to pay 15$ all said and done for you to ship it to me. That basically covers the price plus shipping and handling. PM me if you can thanks...
