Bah, came up short on my copy of R6: Vegas.

Box knife slice through the case plastic and artwork, unsealed, AND disc scratched to hell. Definitely getting my money back for this one. If the disc played/was lightly scratched and the box wasn't sliced up, I probably would have let it slide.

Edit: Oh yeah, the dead giveaway was that the case was a darker green xbox case and not a neon green xbox 360 case. :)

Wow they wouldn't give me a refund but they sent me another copy via ups if it is used i'm a screwed, i don't buy used games.

I should have a copy here of RSV any day now. If I have the same issue, I'm going to be all over their customer support line. I napped screencaps just in case. The listing said "Retail". Open, scratched and not in original packaging isn't retail. They had a listing for used copies of Kameo but it's clearly marked in the description.

This is bad form. Newegg may lose my business on this if I get one of these too. Give my $$ to tigerdirect instead.

What i worry more about than newegg continuing to give flawed merchandise, is them to stop selling games so cheap. Just remember, that would be worse.
Google live cash back, on the cash back site go to the bottom where it says featured merchants. Somewhere there's and A-Z list of all merchants, click newegg, sign in with your live ID and its automatic from there. You just need a live id and a paypal/bank account. There's also a 60 day wait for your money to make sure you don't return it. Its like 5-20 free dollars if you're buying computer stuff from the best site out there. When I buy games it gives me like 50 cents or so each time and it adds up.

I actually put the link in the OP a day or two ago ;)
Newegg sent out an email. Best deal i saw was UFC Undisputed for 39.99 on 360 with promo code EMCLTLR45.
If I wasn't already picking up Fight Night Round 4, I'd be all over this. Great price.

Just got an email from Newegg the three deals they highlighted were:

Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess for Xbox 360- $9.99
Sims 3 for PC $44.99
Blazing Angels: Secret Missions for PS3- $14.99

The Sims is obviously about $15 dollars but I figured I might as well post it in case someone wants it. It also says shipping is free.

If the second copy is used as well, call your credit card company and dispute the charge. If the item wasn't listed on the website as being used (and I've never seen anything listed as used on the Newegg site), then they didn't send you the merchandise you ordered.
What i worry more about than newegg continuing to give flawed merchandise, is them to stop selling games so cheap. Just remember, that would be worse.
I dunno. At this point, between all of the reports of flawed merchandise that I've seen, and my own experience with not actually receiving my order (granted, that one's probably on the post office -- but Newegg said they'd send a replacement over two weeks ago and still haven't shipped yet), I'm honestly getting to the point that I'm afraid to order from them again. Doesn't matter to me whether they sell cheap games or not if I'm too afraid of what I'll get to place an order.

I've ordered a ton from Newegg over the years, building computers for my family and friends mostly in the past, buying cheap pc and console games mostly lately.

I won't stop buying from them, I just wish they would make the effort to look into their stock when they get multiple complaints from consumers over a short period of time.

Oh yeah. I got the scratched used R6 Vegas buffed at Game Crazy and it works now. When my other copy arrives (and if it works), going to give it to my Brother In Law who just got a 360 for his birthday.

Yeah, I've ordered from them a lot for years too, and built most of my computers with parts purchased from them. Their service has always been great in the past, which is why all of this has me even more baffled. I'll almost certainly continue to order computer parts from them, but if they don't do something about these current issues, I probably won't be ordering any more games from them.

I don't think this'll go on verylong. They have to be losing money like crazy on these things, or maybe they would rather just sell them instead of tossing them. Think about it, they can sell them, hope that people don't call and they get their money. Or if they have to issue a refund it's almost the same as just tossing them. But I will say though, that I've ordered quite a few games from them lately and every single one has been sealed and brand new. But everyone who gets a used game needs to call, so Newegg can finally quit selling these used games before their name is ruined because of it.

You know the brass at newegg might not even know and some package handler kid in their warehouse is probably swapping out new with old and keeping the good copy for themselves to sell on ebay or whatever.

Just a guess.

Got my Rainbow Six Vegas used and as a result I talked to customer service. They are sending me another copy and if it used also, I'll just leave it at that. They are really a great company and I'm not going to bleed them, but hope they start checking those things.

I'm confused by these problems too, and it does make me more leary of them. I don't like their return policy either. I got a cheap Blu Ray drive that didn't work, and their whole "you pay to ship it back, and you pay a restocking fee" is nuts. I mean I knew that's what they did, but actually having to pay it really makes you realize what a stupid policy that is.

I've switched to Amazon when I can (which is where I buy everything else anyway). Or Best Buy even.

Terminator Salvation for 40$ is not a good deal.. the game is 3 hours long, and mediocre at best. Its Megacritic score is 45, with the highest score of 64. Wait for the price to bottom out in a few weeks if you must have this one.

Wow. I always assumed that the restocking fee was on the return of functional products, not on defective ones. Glad I haven't gotten anything defective from them, I guess. I don't see how they can charge a "restocking fee" on an item that's not going back into their stock. Knowing that, I'm going to have to think even harder before buying from them in the future. :whistle2:?

i wanted to add it's Blazing Angels 2 for 360. Blazing angels 1 was an original Xbox port to 360, and I believe 2 was 360 only if that helps anyone. I'm definitely thinking about picking it for $15 and I'm glad I waited the few times the international version(I) was up for $18 at GoGamer.

Shadowrun also came in today and wow, pick up this game whether you own a PC or 360. the uniqueness of the multiplayer is very refreshing and tons of fun :D
are people still playing this on xbl?
I found it hard to believe, but yes haha. It's not like Halo number of players, but I have had no trouble finding a game. The demo I tried out before buying it even had people still playing it ;P

I hadn't thought of that. Good point. It really could be something like that or they placed an order for merchandise and got this shipment. Since they are re-sealed it could be overlooked.
What i worry more about than newegg continuing to give flawed merchandise, is them to stop selling games so cheap. Just remember, that would be worse.
Really? Cause I don't like to take a crapshoot with my money. In the initial post, a special section has been added for problem orders now. That didn't exist before. Now there are multiple listings of used or foreign editions. There are plenty of places to buy used games. Ebay, Amazon, Craigslist or Gamestop. Hell, I could get a used copy of this cheap with things like the bonus coupons in the GS newsletter. If I have to cross my fingers every time I order a game from Newegg that I get what I actually ordered, then I don't want games from Newegg anymore. If they want to sell used, mark it used. Otherwise it's called Bait-and-Switch.
If the second copy is used as well, call your credit card company and dispute the charge. If the item wasn't listed on the website as being used (and I've never seen anything listed as used on the Newegg site), then they didn't send you the merchandise you ordered.
Exactly. It's not what I ordered. I just drafted an email to Newegg (very carefully) to inform them of the fact that I received a used copy and that it appears to not be a one-off mistake. I'll update when I hear back.

All I know is I've never lost a dollar from newegg. What is happening with people getting used or foreign merchandise is disturbing. But everytime they've made a mistake they corrected it for me. You're right, you can get used stuff cheaper elsewhere, and you're not happy with newegg's service, so stop shopping there. This thread is becoming people complaining over and over. We get it.
You don't have to buy from Newegg!!!

- I received a defective HDD enclosure and Newegg simply shipped out a new product to me. They didn't want the hassle of me returning the product.

I have a hard time believing they charge to ship back defective merchandise. Considering I browse the Eggxpert forums often and the admins(who are CSRs) talk about getting them a prepaid label and overnighting the replacement.

Also, they refunded me 20 dollars on my monitor when it dropped that much a week later. So they havn't wronged me and I will continue to shop there until there is a reason for me not to.

When I had to RMA a pc case that had a defective power supply (I know, it's a bad idea to use the psu in the case anyway, but it's an HTPC with a very oddly shaped psu not made by anyone else), I got a prepaid label and didn't pay shipping fees. However, I did have to pay a restock fee which really sucked.

Well if someone has had to pay shipping charges to ship back a product I'll believe them, but generally if I need to contact customer service. I'll go onto the Eggxpert forums and talk to the admins, since they will handle it just like a call to CS would, and they generally do more to keep the customer happy. But Like I said, I've only used them once and it was because the monitor I ordered dropped like a few days later. They had absolutely no problem issuing me the difference.

That's actually really cool cause I'm pretty sure Newegg doesn't normally do that, but then I think the are a very good company, really a cut above the rest.

I got a defected motherboard from them. I verified it was defective with the manufacturer tech support. I had to pay shipping for the return. They also do not cross ship, so I had to wait for them to receive it... THEN wait for them to ship it back. All the while their "30 day" return policy still counts down from the original ship date. This means if the second package was defective, I'd be out of luck. The cost to ship the motherboard was $10. The actual motherboard price was $60.

Newegg is a great site, just horrible with returns. If the price is within a few dollars, I always op to buy with Amazon for their infinitely greater customer service/returns.

Ouch, Ill keep that in mind. Good thing I've been real lucky with products I've ordered from them, but it definately keeps me weary. Considering our UPS place here is more of a truck delivery hub and drop off than it is a place to get stuff weighed for shipping. Which would be a mess if I had to return something since they only are technically open for like an hour a day and that's it.

I just got my Rainbow Six Vegas for Xbox 360 today and i got a used one. It didnt come in an Xbox 360 case, it was in a normal xbox game case and the disc had small scratches. So far it plays fine, but just incase you like your games in perfect condition when they arrive order this game from newegg with caution...

This is why we be patient and wait for products to get a free shipping label.

If you have a problem with Newegg, and CSR's won't help, post a complaint on ResellerRatings.com. They get notifications of bad reviews, and will resolve your issue in order to get you to remove the bad review.

I'm thinking about picking up GHII for the 360. I got rid of my PS2 copy last year and that's gotta be my fave in the series, though I have yet to play RB.
