You can swap PS2 and PS3 discs with ANY PS3. It does NOT have to be a backward compatible model.

I play PS2 singstar games on my 40 gig PS3 all the time. You just have to make sure that you put in a PS3 singstar game first, and then swap the PS2 games in from there.
Thanks for confirmation.

BTW
:ps3: SingStar Vol. 2 (PS3) is $9.99 as well (game only)

I noticed too that for about a week now, I haven't seen Newegg at Bing anymore. It must have been too good to be true.

Also the PSP version of God of War: CoO links to the JPG image, and it's $19.99 now.
In for Secret Agent Clank! I've been waiting for that one for awhile to drop to $10, and now it's $9! Awesome.
Same here In for 1 ;) Also, Tom Clancy's END WARs (DS) $7

Beware...

I just got my order of 2 games...

Quake Wars and Silent Hill Homecoming for Xbox 360.

QW was ok (sealed brand new), but my copy of Silent Hill Homecoming came re-shrink wrapped!

It so obviously had been opened before because it didn't even have the blue-white Microsoft sticker/label on the side of the disc case! Plus the disc wasn't as "clean" as a new disc when comparing it side by side to my copy of QW.

Grrrrr......

Newegg's still pulling this shit, huh? If they send me used games advertised as new, they'll hear it from me. I'd also leave a negative review on the Newegg product page informing others of Newegg's shady practice.

Picked up:

:360: Timeshift $7.99
:360: Kane & Lynch $7.99
:360: Viking $9.99

Total: $25.97 + free shipping + no tax

Pretty solid deal. None of those games are great, but they all look pretty decent and worth those prices.

Kane & Lynch will make a nice coaster. :) The other two...very fun and severely underated.

Just got a resealed copy of Crackdown that was exactly like the one in the OP (has the MS seal on the side but the plastic wrap is a crappy reseal) and a Spanish copy of Project Sylpheed...sigh.
Good deals anyway though and I do love this thread.

Question for hardcore Newegg shoppers...what time (or times) do you find that Newegg typically updates their prices on their site?
Question for hardcore Newegg shoppers...what time (or times) do you find that Newegg typically updates their prices on their site?
If I had to guess I would say around lunchtime EST. I usually check newegg when I get to work and again at lunch and the last few days I have found new deals popping up on the site around lunch.

Picked up Lost ps3 for $8. The bad reviews kept me away when it was $10, but I figure I'm enough of a lost fan to get $8 enjoyment out of it.

Yikes, I had no idea this was happening at Newegg.

I recently placed an order last week for a couple of games including Silent Hill. A little worried now.

I keep a Newegg RSS feed in my Google Reader for all Xbox 360 games that show up under $19.99. I randomly polled the last several updates and found the published times were just as random as my poll...

I just figured out I can make cool graphs with Google Reader. Ignore the orange columns, that's just the number of updates that Reader thinks I read. The light blue is the number of posts received by Reader. All times are PST.

I couldn't figure out how to go further back than 30 days. Things were pretty quiet for much of September and October.

Hope this helps with the Marketplace!

I bit on The Conduit, so hopefully there isn't any issues with that game as I figure it severly undersold expectations. But yeah resealing something and selling it as "NEW" is very shady. Don't get me wrong I love buying stuff from Gamefly; but at least I know what I'm getting and they let you know it's previously owned!

Beware for those with OCD in regards to their 360 gamerscores, Viking has achievements that don't end in the power of 5, and will mess up your gamerscore unless you beat the game to get back in a power of 5.

Newegg doesn't have a very good return/exchange policy. I got a cracked case & loose disc (all scratched up) that I had to send back at my own expense before they sent a replacement. As stated on their site, "Newegg.com does not pay the return shipping cost for defective merchandise. We are not responsible for product defects, because we do not manufacture the products we carry"

Says the guy with a gamerscore that ends in "1." ;)

I looked up the achievement list. Essentially it's a problem with these four achievements:

Viking Slaughterer 12
gp-g.jpg
Learn a total of 4 new moves
Viking Slayer 14
gp-g.jpg
Master a total of 8 new moves
Viking Warrior
16
gp-g.jpg
Master a total of 12 new moves
Viking Blademaster 18
gp-g.jpg
Learn all the moves in the game

So yeah, you're right. You either learn all the moves in the game, or you'll end up with a strange gamerscore ending in something other than a 0 or 5.

Meritline does this too. Ticks me off. I could care less whether they manufacture the products they sell or not.

And technically, the law is on our side on this issue. If Newegg was ever taken to court over the issue (but who is going to pay court costs over a $10 scratched game?), they would lose on this issue and be required to pay for return shipping. They are, after all, the one who sent the non-conforming goods. You as the buyer have the right to reject those goods.

I think you mean "multiple of 5" rather than "power of 5."

I was fool enough to get some achievements in Luxor 2 so my Gamerscore is already unusual. Bring it on, Viking!

Dont worry newegg is the best site ive ever used for customer satisfaction. They let me return a defect GPU even after the 30 day warranty and they gave me $10 for return shipping and my trouble.
Including 50 cent BOTS which I just got a couple days ago for :360: from them.
Speaking of which: Just received my copy. The outer was that funky shrinkwrap and I could see what looked like one too many copies of the box art. Sure enough, inside was an extra copy of the box art with the dual English/French writing and an extra copy of the manual, in French. Within all that was a sealed copy of the game with the normal shrinkwrap and just English packaging. Very interesting.

It's cheap, how can I complain?

Also received my copy of Timeshift. Everything looks normal. Arrived super fast. I love this time of year when things seem to arrive in 1/2 the normal shipping time.

Yup, just got a shipment of sale-price game from Newegg today via DHL. One of the game boxes had been resealed in shrink wrap, and the box was completely crushed. Fortunately the disc and manual were fine. Ugh.

That is standard Canadian packaging. They have the factory sealed copy and then package together an additional instruction guide in French on the oustide with crappy shrink wrap that looks like it's been used/repackaged.

Newegg shipping is always good on games.

Only when it ships UPS. DHL takes forever. Problem is, you don't know which service games use until after they ship :(.

I can confirm Silent Hill (360).

I got mine today and it was obviously resealed, re-shrink wrapped because it had no MS label either. Instead there were just two generic white "security device enclosed" labels on the top and bottom of the case.

I haven't taken off the plastic yet because I want to return it and complain.

They are also very easy to get so it shouldnt worry anyone.

Phantom Brave for the Wii was 16.99 last night, I don't know if its still that price but its a good deal if it is, I bought one for myself. It retails for 39.99 at most stores and 29.99 at Gamestop.
