NFL 2007 Season Thread
No, I meant Bollinger. We can diss the Vikes players AFTER the game, can't jinx it!
Oh come on... what fun is it if you can't diss em during the game.

And yeah.... RIP McNabb. Cause Of Death.... the Vikings D! :applause:

And all of Indy held their breath. What do smelling salts smell like anyway?
Its a difficult song and people underestimate it... Though, I don't understand how a professional can still fuck it up. Was it an amateur or a child?
Certainly it's a tough song and given the stage it makes it tougher, but this woman most certainly was a professional singer. She certainly was no child. I can't be certain though as I didn't catch her introduction.
Shit..... Bobby Wade looks KOed.
Now someone else can come in, catch 3 yard passes, and turn them into 5 yard gains? Darn!
Like you?
In my middle school football career, I had 1 carry for 9 yards, and was not tackled, it was a forward momentum stopped, because I was too much of a beast. I also caught 3 passes, including 2 two point conversions.

Well this will officially eliminate the Bears from playoff contention this year. Time to lose the rest of the games, go 3-13, and go for a top 5 pick.

Yuck. Yeah Briggs way to go, you made the stop on 3rd down but you're still trailing 16-7 and there's less then 3 minutes left.

I'm calling bullshit on this. All of it.

athletic_specialties_officials_penalty_flag_fogdog_s2_.jpg

Come on refs... where's the flag on McNabb throwing that one away?

What the hell? I've never seen a booth review for 12 men on the field. They threw a flag on Chicago, said there was no penalty, reviewed, determined there were 12 men on the field, and called the penalty again.

Oh and it looks like Hester might be hurt now... That's the icing on the cake.

EDIT: There's the nail in the coffin, Greise throws his 4th pick of the game. My God that was an ugly game.
Someone give Drew Bledsoe's number to Chicago.
LOL Bledsoe is a statue, he'd get destroyed playing behind our questionable O-line.

What's the over/under on Tom Brady TD passes in today's game? That's the only real question, it's pretty much a given that they're going to win.

fucking christ. Another team giving the Lions an easy win.

How many INT can you throw to a crappy secondary?

The Lions are suppose to be this all purpose high octane offense but they only manage to beat the worst teams in the NFL by less than a touchdown and a field goal.

Lions are the biggest fraud in the NFL.

Your the biggest fraud on CAG.
Sorry, you gave me the opportunity, and I went with it.

Ok, Vikes, 91 yards in 15 seconds. GO!

Wow! The Browns string 2 wins in a row (against winless teams, of course ;) ). 14 penalties though, what the heck? Bye-week-syndrome?

Edwards needs to save his celebrating for the sidelines, when it won't cost his team 15 yards.
Who would've thought the race for the NFC North would come down to the Packers and the frickin' LIONS?
Packers is expected. But the Lions.... wow. Who saw that coming?
Packers is expected. But the Lions.... wow. Who saw that coming?
That's what I mean. It's understandable to see the Packers up there but the Lions?
Packers is expected. But the Lions.... wow. Who saw that coming?
Well, since you get a weaker schedule every time you have a losing season so that you will be competitive for the next year.

I see since the Lions have had what.......20 years of losing seasons they are now scraping the bottom of the barrel for the NFL. They are now going up against the worst teams in the NFL.

If they do make the play offs this year...they will get crushed next year when they get a stronger schedule.
I see the Pats are now running out the clock in the 1st quarter... Maybe now people will stop crying about running up the score.
No. They'll just bitch about the Pats killing the clock on the way to running the score up while taping the defense signals of the other team.

Bringing Brady back into the game last week late in the route of Miami was pretty classless.
Damn Bears. What the hell's wrong with you?
I'd love to ask the same thing about the Vikings... but at least we know where the answer lies.

Ask Tennessee how valuable every point was last week.

Cassell had just thrown an interception for a TD... Let me refer you to Belichick's comments.

After Matt Cassel threw the interception returned for a touchdown, you put Tom Brady back in. Why?
"Because of the score."

And the other quarterback, Matt Gutierrez? Was something wrong with Matt Cassel that Gutierrez went in?
"We were just trying to win the game, that's all. We were just trying to win the game."

But the score was 42-21
"Yeah, one more turnover and it's a 14-point game in the middle of the fourth quarter. Yeah, I was at the game."

Is that why you went to the two-minute offense at the end of the first half?
"It's the first half. It's the first half. Look, we've all seen games -- the Tampa-Indianapolis game a couple of years ago, 21 points in four minutes, whatever it is -- I mean, don't tell me about leads in this league. Until the final gun goes off, it's not a win."

It wasnt. The back up QB came in and toss an INT that was returned for a TD...I think. Either way.

Christ...the fact that they took him out in the first place showed that they were not trying to run up the score. Would you rather wait until the back up throws 2 more INT thus putting Miami back in the game.

Anyway. Back to topics that actually matter. Brain Gresise (sp) should take a lesson from Tom Brady. Thats how your suppose to dive when trying to win a game.

Its the first drive of the game and Tom Brady dives head first for a TD....Brian slides like a bitch in the 4th QRT when his team is down by 2 score and they need the first to even have a chance to win the game.

Well lets see where to begin.... The Bears defense is decimated with injuries, the Grossman experiment was a flop so we have no consistency at the QB position, it's looking more and more like Benson is a Rashan Salaam wannabe, and we're not getting nearly the same number of turnovers as we did last year.

God, I really do feel sorry for you bears fans. It really must be tuff...I just cant think of why the Bears thought to even go with Rex this long. Even though they made it to the Superbowl...it was still pretty clear that Rex is a horrid QB and should never start an NFL game.

First of all the excuse "well IF they would've scored one more time it would've gotten the game back within a TWO SCORE game" is crap. I could see it had the Dolphins scored a TD and ACTUALLY GOTTEN IT TO A TWO SCORE GAME but it hadn't happened yet.

Second, I agree with you on the point about Griese. I saw him slide on that first drive and was pissed. Had he gone head first he would've had the first down. Greise is a stop gap at QB but not the long term solution. He's better than Grossman but that's not saying much.

So you can predict the future now huh? All you can say is that its unlikely that they might have came back. But in the grand scheme of things...we see 3 or 4 amazing come backs by teams each year. Just 2 weeks ago the Lions broke an NFL record and scored 33 points just in the 4th QRT after not doing a damn thing all game.

So in truth.....just like everyone else...your just pissed because the Pats are so good.

But in the NFL top teams dont just throw their hands up and leave it all up to the football gods.

They make sure they win games. So no matter what you think.

Tom Brady=the best option to win a game. Thus until they are absolute sure they will win the game....something you can never be in the NFL they must play accordingly.

EDIT:

Yes....Brian is a bitch. I just could not beleive that I say him slide like a girl that late in the game. It was 1 yard....1...stretech out to get it.

Man, say what you will about the Redskins but they are hitting today.

Lets see if they can keep up with those hits towards the end of the game.

Your comparison of the Pat-Fins game and Bears-Lions is way off base... Yes the Lions had an unlikely comeback setting an NFL record for 4th quarter points but GOING INTO THAT QUARTER THEY WERE ONLY DOWN 10 PTS! In no way were the Lions dead. On the other hand you had the Pat who were up 42-7 on the Dolphins AT THE HALF. That game was over BEFORE THE SECOND HALF EVEN STARTED.

Being a great team in one thing, being a cock about it and running up the score is unacceptable.

Thats a loser's mentality. Why allow it to get to that point? Why allow it to become a game again? You don't allow a team to think they're back in a game once you've had them down. You don't let the foot off the throat. They weren't going out there and throwing bombs to Moss every possession, Brady could've had 12 TD's if he really wanted to run up the score.

This is the NFL. You do what you have to do to ensure victory, as soon as you start paying attention to your opponent's feelings, you're cooked. You've got to have that killer instinct to be a champion, and I'm sure someday you'll understand that.

So by your logic it's perfectly ok for a college football team to keep scoring after being up 63-7 in the 4th quarter because you just never know when a miracle might happen and the opponent scores 8 TD's in a row?

That's some nice math you have there.

Next time I get a 42 on a test, I'll have to tell my professor it's really a 63.
