NFL 2007 Season Thread

is there anything more retarded than talking about milking the clock while you are losing? Don't mess up what you are doing by worrying about the clock

No, its more retarded to try to throw a TD with that much time left. The pats can easily score on you under 2mins. They SHOULD have kept running the ball or get the clock down more.

I agree, and its the reason for the Colts loss against SD. Dungy was milking the clock before he had the lead. Get the points first.
All in all it was a very good game. I can only imagine how the Packers will play against the Pats.
All I can say is inside slant might be their bread and butter against them.

I don't know WHAT THE fuck they were thinking throwing to the outside. Yea, you have to worry about time, but WORK THE MIDDLE and just kick the field goal. You saw what happened on his last two throws to the outside, learn from your mistakes.

fuck man, they were this ---> |-| Close. Great game by the Eagles, they just needed to finish strong.

No way do I see the Packers getting past the Cowboys (but we can hope).

I suppose we'll find out next week, but it looks like both teams will win their divisions so we'll probably seem em' in the playoffs.

Heh, we saw that public opinion can wrong tonight, we'll just have to wait and see on Thursday ;)

Btw, does the NFL Network even have HD? Damn them for not airing this game on Public Television.

Yeah they just added it in my area. Channel 218 on digital cable.

Well I got satellite, so no worries there, it just would've been better for the whole country to be able to watch one of the more crucial (and probably entertaining) games this season
*takes a LONG breath*

Jesus that was ONE intense game. Thank god the best team (the Pats) won. :D
For now ;)

No doubt they'll get to work on fixing their inside holes on defense, but doing so might open up some other hole in their scheme/setups
Thank god the best team (the Pats) won. :D
Was the parenthetical really necessary? I think it was plainly obvious.

Is Foxboro field turf now? The field looked great.
Was the parenthetical really necessary? I think it was plainly obvious.
Yes it is. ;)

Seriously I will give credit to the Eagles. They put in one hell of a game and made my Pats earn this win. Outside of the three interceptions Feeley was very solid. And the Eagles defense is no laughing matter.

Next week's games should be interesting and fun for me to watch. Vikings vs Lions with the return of Adrian Peterson should be one hell of a show. I have a feeling that we'll see the return of the Patriots assault on the record books against the Ravens.

Yea man, I actually had a feeling about today's game.

After seeing the Raiders, then the 49ers, then the Chargers all get wins today, I had some optimism towards the Eagles pulling off the upset, and they almost did, and had Feeley not had those miscues, well dammit, they would have and in Foxboro to boot!

No doubt the Patriots will maul the Ravens, I don't even want to watch that game >.>

Weird thing, when I was alone in the room, the Eagles were on point, once my pops showed up, things started getting edgy and the Pats scored the TD to make it 28-31. He left a couple minutes after, saying he felt like I was gonna hit him or somethin'

This was the most I had ever gotten into a game after the game between the Packers and the Broncos.

An exciting Pats game? Didn't expect that until possibly the Steelers matchup and then maybe in the AFC championship game.

Oh and the best part. If they are 15-0 going into the final game, it airs on the NFL Network.

On the Skins game... Damn they have been dissapointing. Let another one slip away. I've seen a few guys call Gibbs going for it on 4th and 1 from the 4 in the 3rd Q down by 9 a major gaffe, but I didn't have a problem with it at the time. Odds were good you can make that 1st and then get a TD. And if you fail the skins D had been playing great and as it turned out they did hold them to a 3 and out and the Skins got the ball right back in good field position. I don't see how this is a massive error.

In hind sight, yes 3 extra points at the end would have really changed things, but at the time it looked like a decent decision to me. I also wouldn't have screamed bloody murder if they had taken the 3. Kind of a could go either way call to me.

Yes, NFL Network is in HD some places. No, just because you have the channel doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get the game.

I have to call my cable co to make sure I'll be able to see it because it says 'To be Announced' instead of the game.

Oh shit. I do get it in HD and I'm pretty sure Verizon Fios shows the games. I'll know for sure this Thursday I guess.

Here's hoping the Steelers D can fuck up the Dolphins with all kinds of interceptions and fumbles.

Yes, I have the Steelers D on my fantasy team.

Yeah, the Skins just don't have that killer instinct.

Speaking of the Skins and killing, Shawn Taylor is "fighting for his life" in a Florida hospital after being shot in the groin during a home invasion robbery last night.

Philly impressed me a lot last night. They gave it their all when everyone was expecting them to get walked all over. Unfortunately, it only took 2 mistakes and the Patriots capitalizing on it to cost them the game. That last interception to end the game really didn't affect anything, it was already over at that point anyway.

That doesn't make a lick of sense.
Do people just phase me out, or do they not care about an elite NFL player possibly dying today?
First I had heard of it. Did a google search and there doesn't seem to be a lot of info beyond what you posted. Although where did you see the bit about fighting for his life? ESPN reports: "His family has asked that no information about his condition be released at this point, said hospital spokeswoman Lorraine Nelson." It also mentioned a prior incident involving him and a gun so maybe they think there could be a connection?

Obviously hope he recovers.
Do people just phase me out, or do they not care about an elite NFL player possibly dying today?
And his possible death is somehow more tragic than the other people that will die today?
And his possible death is somehow more tragic than the other people that will die today?
Wow.

THIS IS THE NFL THREAD, DURRRRRRRR!
...and you wonder why people zone you out.
I guess we should now dedicate the NFL Thread to all the normal people in the world dying of natural causes today. That was honestly one of the dumbest posts I have ever read.

Then how do you get through writing your posts without reading them?

You posted a comment and 23 minutes later no one had responded... on a monday, in the middle of the day. You were hurt and upset that no one paid attention to you, it's understandable, it has been happening your entire life.
Then how do you get through writing your posts without reading them?
Who cares about me, Betty Johnson in Fort Worth, Texas just tripped over her cat Hairy Meownilow and died from skull trauma! Forget these pampered athletes, we should care about her!
And his possible death is somehow more tragic than the other people that will die today?
The fact that he is a public figure makes it more newsworthy. Whether it is more tragic is irrelevant and subjective.

:applause:

I dont understand why every single time this happens there is always that one guy/girl who has to be the biggest douche.

Yes yes, he we all hate celbs and we all dont care about them. But what posses you to say that every time? Are you that jealous and envious of a celb to be so extremely cold if you find out one is dying? The guy got shot in his house while being robbed. Regardless of his social status that is horrid.

I would think anyone with a soul would feel something for anyone who has done nothing wrong to be fighting for their life.

How can you imply that someone should feel less for someone solely based on their social status? Because if this was just Mr. Joe Guy we would all be like....dude that sucks...I hope they get the person who did this...but since he is Sean Taylor we should be like, "fuck that nigga I hope he dies."

Just dont get it.

Cedric Benson is done for the year with a "season ending surgery" and no details on what the problem is. Finally some good news to those Bears fans who wish to see a decent running game. Adrian Peterson is the starter and Garrett Wolfe is the back up.

In other news, Ricky Williams may play tonight against the Steelers. I'm definitely going to watch tonight and see what happens.

I'm still shocked that Grossman led the Bears on a last minute game tying drive.

and then a game winning one!
