55.9% completions, 1 int and 1 1/2 fumbles isn't vindicating much. Eli only got the MVP because no one stood out as a MVP so as a default it always goes to the winning team's QB. If anyone should of got the MVP it should have been Toomer, Burress or Butler IMHO. Still a hell of a game but I can see non football fans not liking it since it was a defensive game with not many "big" plays.

Congrats to NYG for the biggest upset since the USA/USSR 1980 Olympic hokey game.

I think the 2 4th quarter TD drives clearly made him MVP. Did you even watch the game? Burress had two catches for 27 yards. That's pathetic any other day. Tyree had a better game than Burress.

I wish they would make a 'not his fault' INT category, kind of like OTL in hockey, because Eli threw that ball on the money.

My point about Burress is that Eli had such a mediocre game that Burress with his two catches (1 game winning) had just as much of an impact as Eli had. Last nights game is proof that sometimes their is no MVP and it shouldn't be rewarded just to be rewarded. Eli didn't have a MVP game imho.

Eli had a decent game.. I think the MVP was that DL from New York.. they pummeled Brady.. if I had to pick one guy on that DL that stood out, it would be Tuck.. he really stepped up, everyone know Osi and Strahan.. Tuck stepped up and made some huge plays..

Congrats Giants, now I don't feel so bad about the Packers losing to them. They did what the Steelers did, this time it was the NFC's turn and with a lot more going against them.
Brady never had it easy throughout the game, and it was fun to see him on the floor :D
That catch at the end of the game was nuts, and that made me believe they were gonna score and win. I wish they could've shared the MVP between the whole Giants Defense, especially the front four, they played their hearts out.
Eli played great, and those non-record breaking stats are mainly due to the players not being able to make a play on the ball, dropping it here, running a different route there, and so on. Eli kept it cool and didn't start forcing it or getting greedy and going nuts like other QB's have.

Just a big ups to the Giants, going down a long, hard road, knocking off all of the top seeds on the road and in the Super Bowl. That's something that is thought to be near impossible and they pulled it off.

I bet right now Tiki Barber is scratching his head and wishing he had stayed for another year.
lmao.. all the Pats fans are quiet today aren't they.. where are those smug arrogant guys like dafoomie?
I dunno, its suddenly as if there isn't a single Patriots fan on the planet. They've all just sorta disappeared.

We don't have much to say at the moment other than..... well..............

*crickets chirping*

.... next season perhaps?

no more patriot sigs lmao...

anyway.. i think the mighty have fallen because if Specter has any influence on Goodell, the Patriots are in trouble... especially if they talk to this Walsh guy.. the Pats might lose all their draft picks.... and Belicheck might get kicked out of football all together.. who knows what will happen..

i do think the NFL needs to address the illegal procedure where receivers pick defensive players .. the Pats consistently ran it through out the season.. it is a penalty that is called on the refs disgression and it was barely called on them..

You should read the Star Tribune sports section today. It had a great article about why the Patriots are done with their "dynasty" now.

Ok, how many Players have pulled out or won't start/play in the Pro Bowl?

AFAIK, the list I have is:

-Brett Favre
-Antonio Gates
-Jamal Williams
-Tom Brady
-Randy Moss
-Willie Parker
-Troy Polamalu

There must be others and I'm aware some are missing it due to injuries.

I know a couple of the Bears have as well. Briggs and Harris are out.

The Pro Bowl is worthless. I wouldn't participate either given the opportunity. A football career lasts 5 years if you are lucky - any injury could not only be catastrophic to your livelihood but your entire life as well since most of these guys aren't qualified to do anything else.

I agree with the Pro Bowl being pretty much worthless but I do not see all these players careers ending in 5 years. Running backs are usually the first to go but 5 years is a little short of a time frame to say they are lucky to get to.

Tiki Barber cut his time short and it seriously cost him a Super Bowl XD

Not that I really care, but I'm just saying...

If Tiki Barber were still playing, the ride would have ended in Tampa Bay.

Yeah I'd say everything came together just so for the Giants to make that run and having Tiki still on the team would have certainly upset the mix enough that it probably wouldn't have happened.

Makes his rants about Eli and Coughlin look pretty stupid now.

I think the average career in the NFL is like 3 years. Granted, the pro bowlers probably average much more than that because they are good players who won't lose their jobs to younger and hungrier kids but I still wouldn't risk injury to play in the game.
Yeah, as much as I generally like Tiki Barber, it seems that his presence on the team was actually a hinderance, morale-wise.
you can say the same about Shockey
you can say the same about Shockey
Shockey and Tiki were my favorite players (and Strahan) but the team was much better off without both of them. The running game was fine this year and Boss looks to be a capable replacement.

Instead of the Pro bowl, they should have those challenges like they do in the NBA Allstars. I also heard Jim Rome say something about "superstars" that the NFL used to have instead of the probowl.

it would be a lot more competitive, no injuries, and people would actually participate.

the pro bowl is boring to watch because no one gives a crap (except for those few players that did really cool things such as sean taylors huge hit) and a lot of players dont want to play (yet they want to be recognized as someone who made it to the probowl, which is really selfish).
