NFL 2007 Season Thread
Everyone celebrated Favre's touchdown record where's the fanfair for his latest record, all time INTERCEPTION LEADER. Congrats Brett!
Hey when your playing as long as he has and actually playing in every game not sitting out a stubbed toe your going to break as many good ones as bad ones lol..

As for the Romo guys I want to see how he plays next year before All this hype phenom crap gets out of control... He has one hell of a team to back him up it is a very similar situation they had with Warner and the Rams... he was nothing special but had a great offense to work with....

Warner was never the same after he broke his finger. I don't know what happened, but that injury really ruined him.

And that PI call was BS.

LOL never the same after he broke his finger lol.... come on now they are football players broken bones and sprains come with the game...

Now only if it doesn't get overturned via review.
Damn the ball popped out.....damn.

That sucks.

It might not stand.

He missed something like 6 games after breaking that finger and went from 2 time MVP to average QB.

You don't just go average over night or in this case after 6 games....

A lot of the time people get injured and are never the same. You can't discount the fact that his injury significantly impacted his game and his ability to play well.
A lot of the time people get injured and are never the same.
Prime example: Daunte Culpepper. Although, hes not that unbearably horrific in Oakland.
Prime example: Daunte Culpepper. Although, hes not that unbearably horrific in Oakland.
But wasnt that around the time when the Rams lost alot of those key players that he had his glory with?

What I was trying to say is that maybe he was not that great to begin with but having a good offense helps make everyone look good and obviously when all that fire power is gone your only going to be so good because you can not do it all yourself but everyone can agree he is not a future hall of fame player but he will always be the QB during the " Greatest show on Turf" legacy they had for awhile..

You know what I am kind of sick of in the NFL?

I hate how they allow the defense to just throw their body at a ball carrier who is ALEARDY CLEARLY on the ground.

Then they bitch about an person on offense pushing off or using their hands. Hell they should be allowed to punch a defender with how many times they just flop on top of a guy how is clearly on the ground.

I really wish they would crack down on that because I truely think its unfair of a person who plays offense who have to fear of having some douche bag defender just throw his shoulder into your back when you are already down on the ground.

Wow. So looking ahead a few weeks, if Indy and New England go in undefeated (very tough task for Indy, especially with the Monday Nighter at Jacksonville next Monday) and New England wins, let's just call off the rest of the season and give the trophy to New England. They look incredible.

On an off-shoot, I like the TO that came to play today. None of the extra-curricular crap. He just played.

The worst I've seen was a few weeks ago with the Titans hosting the Colts. Addai on a few occasions was on the ground with his knees clearly down by contact and Vandenbosch came in with shots to his back.

Meh, g'night, games over for the Cowboys.

Once the Pats entered the Red Zone on that last drive it was over.

Dallas should've went for it on 4th n Goal. They should know that to beat the Patriots, they need to be aggressive and not all of a sudden conservative.
Cowgirls held em to 3 tho.

The Cowgirls still can make a comeback like last week............ *gulp*
Hate to say it, but it's not gonna happen. Especially after Seau picked off the ball from a funky dump off.

For some odd reason I screamed INTERCEPTION INCOMING right before Romo threw that ball.

Well, the only challenge for the Patriots now is playing the Colts on the road. They're gonna run over everyone else on their schedule: Dolphins (0-6), Redskins (3-2)
For some odd reason I screamed INTERCEPTION INCOMING right before Romo threw that ball.
Heh, I didn't want to keep watching the game, I only stepped back in after hearing Seau's name, and thought, well that doesn't sound too good.

Missed most of the last two minutes, but did the Cowboys use some timeouts after the two minute warning? If they didn't, then why did NE not just kneel down to end the game?

Well it wasnt like they were even trying to score. They just kept handing the ball off and getting really good yardage.

The their rookie got it down to the 1 yard line on 3rd down so I guess they just decided to let him try to score...in which he did.

Kneeling is over rated anyway.

After all the time the Pats offense was on the field, the Dallas Defense was dead tired, so getting yards on them would be much easier than usual, plus I think they pretty much gave up.

Well, we have a Saints v. Seahawks game to look forward, although I'll consider it a waste if the Saints can't pick up a win today

I'll be more interested in tomorrow's game, lookin' for the younger Manning to pick up his game.

Dallas who?

Patriots are the best team in the league, bar none. They just went into Dallas' house, and beat them by 21.

Woot.

Well now, the Seahawks are off to a good start. Already a botched snapped on a punt two 1/2 minutes into the game and Saints scored off the turnover. Saints offense hasn't gone onto the field and they've scored already
Maybe there is hope for them...

If the game was over, why did Dallas call their final timeout with 1:48 left? That guaranteed Dallas the ball back. Once that happened, the correct action for the Pats was to run the ball straight ahead with Scrubby McGee, and thats exactly what they did.
Prime example: Daunte Culpepper. Although, hes not that unbearably horrific in Oakland.
Not horrific, well, probably not...to the untrained eye that doesn't watch him every week at least... I maintain he's slower physically as well as mentally and that there's no way he should be a starter in the NFL...
If his mind could be a step ahead he would have a chance, but his faculties are not that sharp. Sorry to say. San Diego today was another case in point...

Then again, they could have still taken a knee and then kicked a FG on 4th down. All just pointless banter anyway. I'd like to see if any Dallas players took exception to it, though.

I don't understand that playcalling by Holmgren in the last 2 minutes of the game, I really don't. Instead of going for the field goal and going for an on-sides kick, 4th and nothing. -_- WTF?

The PAts didn't even seem to be playing that fierce until halfway through the third quarter, they seemed to elevate their games and just crushed the cowboys fans hopes. It was great, and I won 20 bucks.

They were at like the 8 yard line. If you are that close to the goal line you should try to score reguardless of what is going on. What do you want them to do? Run backwards so that the cowboys self esteem isnt crushed?

I personally think all of this.."aaaaahhh lets take into account the loser feelings" nonsense is bull. There really is not way to run up the score...as long as there is time on the clock you should be playing.

They did the very least that could do...which is run the ball up the gut. Its not their fault that Dallas cant stop them.

I dont know. I just really dont agree with this whole, "let take into account the losers feelings so they dont cry on the way home"

If you practices harder then them, if you workout harder then them, if you play better than someone....and you are not dancing in the end zone or making an ass out of the game then why shouldnt continue to play? As long as you dont do anything crazy to get your players hurt.

Maybe its because I grew up playing soccer my entire life but in soccer its more considered a sign of disrespect to stop playing even if you are up 3-0 (which is like getting blown out 40 nothing in football) because its basically saying, "look at us we are so good we dont even have to play to win."

I never really got it.....if you are not going to play why not just end the game right there and then and let everyone go home if its so important to respect the other team?

Well you guys are up by 21 at the 2 min warning. Just go home we dont want the other team of what suppose to be the toughest guys on earth to cry that they lose by 28 instead of 21.

I was rooting for the Saints, but I was confused by that play calling as well.

They go with a draw play on 3rd and 9, when it should've been a pass/play-action pass to pick up a first down near the sidelines, yet they run the ball running a high risk of chewing up precious clock time.
THEN he decides it'll be a good idea to go for it on 4th down instead of kicking a field goal and giving them a chance to stay alive and tie it.

That play calling was as confusing as the Packers/Bears game last Sunday >.>

That whole playcalling at the end is just something I've gotten accustomed to here in Indy with Tony Dungy. For some reason, I recall them taking knees deep in the opponent's side with the game well in hand. Plus, it cuts down on the possibilities of injuries.

Whoa whoa whoa buddy.

I was never in an "un-chilled" mode. I thought we were discussing it already.

I was just rambling on about nothing really. I think you took my words as a statement towards you when they were really just mindless banter that I thought of after reading your post.

No harm no foul dude.

No harm no foul dude.
We're all good here. *HIGH FIVE* So in all seriousness NFL, scratch the rest of the season after Week 9 and make the Pats/Colts game the Super Bowl. Or we can keep the rest of the season solely to get the draft order correct.

Well they sure as hell don't need to worry about my team
the Rams

That sound bit will never die.

Long after her retires we all will be watching his blow up about the bears and laughing our asses off.

I remember watching that one live and just cracking up in my seat.
