NFL 2007 Season Thread

You know, a missed Vinatieri FG would be the perfect way to emphasize how shitty the Colts' special teams is and has been (at least coverage and protection goes).
I have a problem with people who go out of their way to show other people up. Chargers, Cowboys are the two that come to mind the most.
Umm, patriots much?!?!

So if the Vinatieri kick doesn't go astray or isn't blocked, I'm somehow seeing a big return by San Diego. Oh and players are dropping like flies.

Well there you go.

Yup, that's about right.

Hopefully, the front office finally takes note that the special teams is atrocious. Pats...good call on Gostkowski.

Edit: I see an INT to end the game.

Vinatieri fucked up big time.

Chargers were fucking horrible. Rivers can't do squat, Chargers' so-called "Offense" is a joke. What happened from last year? What's with the offensive line? Where's the running lane for L.T.? Can Rivers make a decent throw? When you pick off the opposing QB 5 times, you expect a landslide win, especially with the talent they have.

It's no secret the Chargers have a lot of talent, but it ain't showing up on offense. LT and Gates are the only exception. I don't believe that defenses can win games, but apparently it did here because Chargers had no fucking offense at all. 5 INTs and only 1 Touchdown? WTF? They had only 1 decent drive and that was mostly luck! 3rd and long, 3rd and long, 3rd and long. If that's their strategy, someone should tell them it ain't working.

After Vinatieri missed the kick and the Chargers get it back, what do they do? Give it right back to Manning. You would think that they would be able to end it right there, but thanks to their high potent offense, they scored so fast that they gave the ball right back to the Colts. It was so fast that they didn't have time to update the scoreboard that they were up by an extra 7 points. So the close game that you saw wasn't actually close at all.

Hey Colts, do you feel that? Its Pittsburgh breathing down your neck.

They were too concerned with killing the clock at the end, they should've taken their shots at the endzone when they had the chance. Put the points on the scoreboard before you think about the clock.

Yeah we(chargers) got real lucky tonight. A win is a win though and I'll take what we can get. I really think the main problem with the offense is the coaches and play calling, remember all of the coaches from the past couple years for the most part are gone.

I really hate Norv turner as a head coach, I would have been fine with Wade Phillips as the coach and Norv Turner would have been better as a offensive coordinator
Cowboys vs. Packers is going to be epic (of NFC-like proportions).

Last year we didn't get the NFL Network game...better get that one.
I fucking hate the NFL network. I was all excited for the Thanksgiving day Cowboys game and they go and move it to a channel no one in America has. fuck you NFL.

Cowboys should be on Fox like usual at 3:30pm. The Colts/Falcons game will be the NFL Network Thursday Night ( Thanksgiving ) Game.

I got to give it to the Colts. They almost won while Manning threw 6 Ints. I can't remember Vinatieri missing a big kick like that. Tonight you saw how much the Colts rely on Harrison and Clark. Missing them just threw there offense off big time.

I don't know what it is, but losses (and wins) don't get to me as much anymore. After the end of the last regular season I just don't worry too much about it. I can't wait to hear the local sports talk shows tomorrow though. That's gonna be fucking hilarious.

also freeney went out in teh game also..that may hurt them next week.

I was laughing when Vinateri Missed that kick and when Al Michaels said...wonder what Vanderjagt thinks about that right now....and man does Phillip Rivers suck ass. from what im seeing..there was no winner in that trade.

Eagles - Skins. I didn't really have a problem with the Eagles going for 2 late in the 3rd Q. It was a low scoring game so there probably wasn't going to be a ton of scoring to come. But the Skins going for 2 in the 2nd quarter was a dumb emotional call. They should look back at that and ask themselves 'Would we have gone for 2 in that situation if we had scored 2 FGs previously rather than a TD + missed PAT?' I'm guessing no.

They pulled out the tidbit yesterday that the Skins have been leading in the 4th Q of every game this season excepting the blowout at the hands of the Pats. I don't see them making the playoffs this year. :whistle2:(

Boys - Packers play the Thursday after Thanksgiving and it will be on NFL Network at least according to the current sched. I actually get that channel (and in HD, too)

Same. Good Stuff.
Comcast sucks... NFL Network has to be an extra cost.. f Comcast.. c'mon Fios.. hurry up...
Yeah, I get it with Fios.

But IMO the NFL Network is more to blame for the fact that not many get it by pricing that channel way too high. Outside of the handful of regular season NFL games they have each year it offers little yet they want to charge more than most other cable channels.

I can just hope ESPN makes the NFL network feel the heat and makes them move the game to regular television. I doubt it will happen, but they started turning the heat up on mike and mike this morning about it.
That's it, ladies and gentlemen...the 2007 PWN of the Year winner.
Not at all.

Florida is the worst team in college football about celebrating, with LSU a close second. It was nice to be able to pay that back just once.

Damn.

I'm a Skins fan and didn't even realize that.

Yep, same here. I knew they've blown a few games but didn't realize they'd actually blown alll but one of the losses. :wall:
I still have a feeling the Colts will recover. 6 INTs and they had a chance at winning?
But it was against the Chargers.

The Chargers are 1 Dimensional. Running Game is all they have. They have Rivers who is such an inconsistent QB it is very reminiscent to Rex Grossman.

That's true, but I personally thought the Colts played worse overall and they still almost won.

I don't see the Colts staying down for too long.

Agreed. Payton just had a bad game. It reminded me of when Romo had the 5 INT game and Dallas still beat Buffalo. I thought the Colts pulled it off til ya know they missed the FG.

Also like I said before, the Colts were missing so many guys. It's hard to win a game when two of your top players are hurt. Especially when they are such big pieces in what the Colts do on offense.

Maybe it was just one of those games. Their kicker missed what should be go-ahead FG's for him, Manning didn't play like himself most of the game, even though they did mount a comeback, some of it, like the last TD, were the Chargers beating themselves as well.

I have no doubt the Colts are better than this, heck, Green Bay pitched a shut-out against the Vikings who beat the Chargers at their own game, so to me, it was just one of those days for the Colts.

Oh come on, you can't explain that away by saying it was a payback. Ah, whatever. It was still a perfect response.
AP, get better!
At least Chester Taylor will kill the Oakland Raiders next week. We need a rebound BAD.
It's not a season-ending injury is it? I hope it's not just the club giving some BS "week-to-week" report.

The Colts have no depth... As we've seen, at any time they're only a few key injuries away from being just another team. Plus, their special teams aren't that good to begin with.
I still have a feeling the Colts will recover. 6 INTs and they had a chance at winning?
If you look at the box score the numbers are retarded. The Colts really just beat themselves. They just gotta pray that their guys stay healthy (of course...this goes with every team).

So first series, what happends, one play shows you why the 49ers blow.

Smith overthrows the ball, and D-Jax drops one.

It's hard to watch. How do they beat Seattle here last year and now look this bad with a better team.

This is the boat the Pats would be in if they got emotional with their choices on the Milloy, Law, McGinnest and Vinatieri

you are wrong with that...they gambled with some of those guys..but Milloy..replacing him with Harrison was as upgrade...same with McGinest and Colvin..ty law was the biggest risk..but luckily their defense doesn't get tested that much in that pitiful division

Depth doesn't have anything to do with it. Let's let the Pats bring 17 people on offense to a game and see how they do.
