NFL 2007 Season Thread

It's gonna be a real sloppy game in Pittsburgh tonight. The field already sucks and now it's getting poured on. This would be the perfect kind of game for Jerome Bettis.

Also, sorry to hear about Taylor.

That field looks like some serious fun. Three feet of water on two layers of turf. Sounds like the perfect recipe for a backyard football game.
Who cares about me, Betty Johnson in Fort Worth, Texas just tripped over her cat Hairy Meownilow and died from skull trauma! Forget these pampered athletes, we should care about her!
No, no, no, see the reason I asked "And his possible death is somehow more tragic than the other people that will die today?" was not because I wanted to start one of those tired old "why do people care so much about celebrities" arguments but rather the reason I posted it was to question why it would fucking matter at all to anything, let alone the NFL. See, you called him an "elite NFL player" like he meant something. He's the safety for a shitty team, his possible death won't affect the team nor will it affect well anything really. Shit, if anything it'll help the Redskins cause people might start showing up and cheering for them cause they've had to go through "so much tragedy." Its all a non-issue at this point anyway cause the dude looks like he's gonna make it now.

So if someone on the Dolphins gets shot I should...hate him?

i'm sorry.. I hope Sean Taylor makes it through and is able to play again despite reports that he could possibly end up with brain damage...but when I first heard this.. i thought maybe he did something to have this happen to him.
So if someone on the Dolphins gets shot I should...hate him?
Well you can hate him if you want but if he dies its not like its gonna change anything. The Dolphins suck, with or without their whole team. The same pretty much goes for the Redskins. Calling anyone on either team an "elite player" is laughable.

No, where it's really at is playing in an inch or so of snow while it's snowing.

Also, I truly hope that Red vs. Blue is trying to be asinine.

And dang Ben, we don't need that tonight.

this week was like from bizzaro world or something

Grossman leads the bears to a last minute victory
vikings destroy the giants
49ers win?
patriots barely win

Course the Bears play the Giants and after Eli's "great" week last week, who knows...

Ricky Williams first carry good for a first down!

Second carry slightly less good.
Well, I got two fantasy points for that fumble recovery
lol

how many total yards on offense do each teams have?

no ones getting anywhere!
Second carry slightly less good.
And his fifth carry for a fumble ;)

Dude, you forgot to add that the Raiders beat the Chiefs!

Well, it didn't take long for Ricky to get hurt

lol yea, the raiders

and now the steelers have the ball...

Please hit Hines Ward for a TD. One of my teams already got romped by the Vikes and Gore. I'm clinging to a 4 pt lead in my other league with Ward still playing (my opponent has the Pittsburgh D).
yup, its gonna be a scoreless game, i called it
Something tells me that if Rossum had just kept running instead of trying to break the punter's ankles there would've been a 7 on the board. I'll have to see the replay to be certain though.
Good ?

I agree with the comment about Rossum's return.

This sucks, why aren't the steelers blowing them out?
Because Big Ben threw a line drive to Porter in the opening drive and set the tone for the whole game ;)

"Close, but no banana"
the field is a mess is why.. and the Steelers look flat...
Heh, The turnover on downs has me more confident in my statement ;O

"Close but no banana"

The other probable reason is the presence of the running game (Hint: There is VERY LITTLE of it )

have there ever been 0-0 tie games before in the nfl? im sure theres been some tie games, but have they ever been 0-0?

this is gonna be one for the record books
LOL it got stuck

that was a golden moment
Hahahaha, hell yea. Man I'm glad we have DVR. I rewound that just to hear the splat
i hope it doesnt make it...i really want this to be a scoreless game

EDIT: not even close
Oh man, another DVR moment! He pulled that kick so far, you'd think it was a squib kick.
So I'm think a few more sacks and a low score will have me at over 10 points.

WAHOO!
I've got 14 points from Pittsburgh right now.
i hope it doesnt make it...i really want this to be a scoreless game

Quit jinxing them

Am I the only Steelers fan that wants to see more of the fullback lead blocking again?
Oh man, another DVR moment! He pulled that kick so far, you'd think it was a squib kick.
i hope there are more DVR moment kicks
Somebody comibine Jesse Chatman/Willie Parker/Big Ben for 19 more points. PLEASE.
Does it require any points to be put on the board? :whistle2:s

If so, you must be denied :shame:

Sorry. ;)

ANOTHER DVR moment!

Wth was the coach thinking, just kick the damn FG, I wanna see another disaster!!!
The sack + fumble made up for it though. Someone out there got some Fantasy points :D

WHY MUST YOU BE SO PATHETIC OFFENSIVE LINES (both teams). I'm really glad I'm just occaisionally glancing at the game on NFL.com, not suffering through watching.
Well, looks I'll coast to 9-3 in ESPN (win) and fall to 10-2 in NFL)
I'm dyin' over here...

Part of me wants to just stop watching this game, but I would never do that.
at least they have a chance, i was feeling that way with the giants game yesterday, but i kept watching, even though it was painful.
