Argh, I couldn't resist, even though it was playing the Mario Kart demo that convinced me to sell my previous $99 DS (from Target) to a fellow CAG. (I liked it, but it didn't scream "killer app" the way I had been promised it would.) I'm sure I'll get a Lite before too long so that the wife and I can play against one another ... or maybe I'll get cold feet and sell this one too.

Does anyone know if the free toy deal is only a one time offer?I got a RC truck free a few days ago and now the code is not working?

Might be once per account. I used it today.

Make sure the "free" item you want is in your cart before applying the code or you'll get an error. By the way, my shipping jumped from 7 to 14 dollars when I added the "free" toy.

I've only gotten it to work once for me, despite having placed several $50+ orders from TRU over the last few days (Animal Crossing Bundle, GBA Micro, Mario Kart Bundle, shitload of games, etc.).

I am so damn broke right now I don't even want to think about it.

I canceled my order. Still wsn't shipped, and estimated ship date wasn't until July 10th. I am just going to go and buy one somewhere else.

noon they always ship faster, you cant get this deal anywhere else since its $50 more everywhere
Noooo, why couldn't they have had Mario Kart last week. =0(
what bundle was it you bought? I assume the AC one? If you got the nintendogs one, Id trade you my mario kart one for it :)

Did you order Resident Evil: Deadly Silence too? I put it on one of my orders and it said that it would ship sometime in July... Canceling that one item moved the date up to next week! =)

thanks for letting me in on that secret... now Ill know not to try to order both. Damnit, I keep talking like im 100% getting this... I dont want to, but its a hella good deal, I want to play the new super mario bros, and I just got 180 bucks back from selling my textbooks. I just dont know what to do, lol.

If I buy the mario kart bundle, would anyone want to buy the game from me???

yeah, I saw that as well. Wasn't sure if that was them being overly conservative or if that was just going to match up with when they wanted to dump all of their old DS stock once the new systems came in... You'd think if they claimed to have a certain number 'in stock', e.g., 5, that would mean they would have them available to ship out shortly.

I dunno.. I'm not totally convinced this is a 'great' deal in the sense that I'm fairly confident that the old model DS systems will drop to $99.99 or less shortly after the DSlite systems come out (assuming there isn't a huge shortage), and easily to $80-ish by the holliday season... i.e., Walmart Black Friday deal, etc... I just can't see someone buying an old DS over a DS lite unless the latter was OOS.. or the former was cheaper... then again, at $99 universally, this means you get the game for free... that isn't so bad if you just want to play the games.
does anybody know if this deal works instore?
doubtful.. most deals online are online only and vice versa.. sorry.. you could try though..

just curious, whats so good about nintendo dogs best friends game? its a different kind of game, but seems more targeted towards kids

mostly I want it because of how semi rare that version is. Also, my girlfriend wanted to play it, why.... I have no Idea.

yeah seems like chicks and kids like it most or pet lovers even. i played it and i would rather have the mario kart bundle lol. ohwell, good thing my sis won a DS before and i can borrow her mario kart instead. if not, i prbably wouldve been tempted to buy another bundle lol..i'm tempted to sell the game, but since it seems to be rare i guess i'll keep it. i'll just kick in more money and buy the mario bros game next week

or you could trade me the best friends edition game for a new copy of mario brothers :).... come on, you know you wanna.

i ithink TRU wil lrestock that bundle eventually . also gamestop is selling used version of the game separately...not sure if they have any left...that would be a good deal. i'm curious to know what hardcore games are playing nintendodogs lol...i usually play adventure, sports, and first person shooters...not games with fake puppies lol. its definitely a unique game

oh, so you actualy have the game in hand and are playing it? Could you let me know what it is like? Ive only read about it. Also, did the game come sealed in a baggy? And was there just a sticker on the box that said nintendogs included or sumthing?

It comes in a standard blue DS box with a sticker for the Nintendogs game pasted on (and a sticker over the UPC to change it to this bundle). Obviously these (and I'm sure the current AC and Mario Kart bundles as well) were retrofitted standard blue DS's. The game comes in a small plastic bag which is NOT sealed. It contains the game cartridge in a small cardboard holder with an instruction manual. You do not get all the other things like the dog bone screen cleaner and decals that came with the original Nintendogs bundle.

Thank you! I knew the other nintendogs shwag wasnt included, but was unsure as to if the game came sealed or not. I guess its just like the mario kart that came with my red ds.

Has anyone gotten the Mario Kart bundle? I'm wondering if the Mario game is sealed or just cart only? I'm pretty much convinced to get it but would love to sell it near new and get Princess Peach

mario kart comes in a cardboard folder type thing. not in the retail case.

wtf, i ordered a couple of days ago(the animal cross bundle) and now my estimated ship date is mid july, i could have swore it used to be mid june. I may just go ahead and order from overstock.com(the ds lite)
Can anyone tell me what Kotaku was talking about here
http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/nintendo-wifi/nintendo-wifi-impressions-135188.php

it is mentioned that the wi fi connector thing comes in the Mario Kart DS bundle.
Is this true and can anyone verify?
I dont know another way to paly multiplayer, and it would be awesome if it came with it
 First of all, he's talking about the old (red) DS Mario Kart bundle. Secondly, he says the USB adapter (though he calls it a cable) SHOULD have come with the bundle but didn't.

But his basic point that the Wifi adapter's hard to find status is a mistake by Nintendo is spot on.
so to connect for online play, you need a separate connnector for the DS? its not like PSP that has it built in?
No, no - only if you don't have a suitable Wi-Fi connection. It is a USB dongle you hook to a computer (with wired or otherwise unsuitable wireless access) to provide Wi-Fi for the DS only. I have a Linksys WRT54G and it works fine with both my DS and PSP. But I would like the dongle for when I'm travelling and staying in hotels with wired Internet, or wireless ones that require logins. I just can't find the stupid dongle (and don't want to pay much for it anyway). I once saw an empty box for them at a Best Buy (back when there was a coupon for game accessories).
so to connect for online play, you need a separate connnector for the DS? its not like PSP that has it built in?
No thats not it, the DS can connect to any "hot Spot" or location in town with wireless internet. even your own home. Sometimes though, this providing of wireless connection is "special" requires some kind of authentication, in any case, that is only approachable by a laptop or computer. Well, in those situations, with the NINTENDO USB CONNECTOR product, you can hook that up to the usb of the lap top and the DS will connect with the laptop (which should be connected to the wireless).
Its kind of like, a helper or aid, but means you have to carry a computer around.

So, back to the subject, DID the Hot rod Red DS come with a free WIFI USB connector?

I already answered this - NO! :D

rly723 - I'm not sure about all the different wireless security protocols. I think there was an issue with the latest and greatest?? I'm using a WEP key and that works fine.

Note that the USB connector is also useful if you have no wireless at all (not just incompatible wireless). It doesn't care what the connection to the Internet is on the computer (I suppose it might even work with dialup?).

So it is really not a critical peripheral (I mean, the PSP doesn't even have such an option). But it would be nice if it was a bit more readily available. I was hoping it would show up at Gamerush or even EB as I could use credit there to get it, but I certainly didn't want to shell out $35 + shipping to the Nintendo store for it. I'd only use it a handful of times a year while travelling.

My offer still stands, I could trade you my mario kart game for your best friends... or buy you mario bros when it is released.
uh...if it already hasn't been mentioned yet the Animal Crossing Bundle is OOS but dropped to $75 (comp is going to slow for me check other pages).
Hmm. I just checked it and it was actually at $149.9x. None of the other sets are available either.

FWIW, I have it as a "Save for Later" item in my cart, and indeed it displays the price as $75. Still OOS, so it can't be ordered. But I think that's what Strider was referring too.

Makes sense, thanks.

That would be awesome if it comes back in stock for $75. I think I would pick it up for that price (already have a launch DS but not Animal Crossing so basically $40 for a spare DS would be great)

anyone have a link to the AC bundle.i agree $75 for a game an extra ds is a steal if they come back in stock. the ds lite can definitely wait then lol
