Nintendo E3 Conference Discussion - Controller Speaker - Always On - Yoshi's Island 2

Seriously. Mario Galaxy...I think it was the first time I actually smiled(in a long time) while watching a preview for a game.

Yes. Get this man some chocolate chip type goodness (or whatever his preference is.) :D

Did the conference state any difference between Z:TP for GCN and Wii other than the obvious wiimote control scheme?

I find it aggravating that they're doing the 2 version approach, especially due to their approach regarding the release date, particularly if the difference between versions is just the controls.

I'm happy for a new Star Fox, but you know what I really want to see? A game or cartoon with those muppet-puppets from the SNES game's manual!

wow I left and so much happened after the conference, they still have a lot to tell me, like the pricing, date, pricing of vcgames/shell, smash/punchout/2D metroid, good to see my Cube wont be completely useless

WOW! I was going to list my GC on eBay tonight with the 10 cent listing fees but the new Paper Mario just threw that idea in the crapper.

Glad the mirror is useful. Feel free to pass the link on. No big deal. Just don't let it get hacked or anything ;)

I take donations in the form of PayPal and cookie dough ice cream ;)

Sony-- too expensive but I want it for the exclusive games. Eventually. Don't care about the music service, karaoke or 1080p. *Honks*

MS-- still not interested in a 360. don't care about Live Everywhere. I like calling, emailing and hanging out with my friends, but I couldn't care less about what the people on live are doing. No reason to stalk them at every moment. Hopes for Lumine were squashed by Madonna.

And now, Nintendo. Nintendo just showed about 50 games that I want and a system that looks fun as hell. and it's cheaper and not obsessed with being a media center or connecting you to the strangers you play against online. Reggie's fro supports anvils and is his communication port to Jesus.

it's juuuuuust riiiiiiight

Thank god at least one of these companies still gives a shit about games.

Lets have a toast to Nintendo pwning the shit out of the game industry this gen *toasts*
I will, do they have one up of the whole ocnference yet?
nevermind, I see it. It'll be up sometime tonight. I post when I update the files (thoguh check back through the evneing)

For now it's time to hit the gym and supper. FF3 and a redsteel movie are going up right now

I think this Starfox DS screen points out what I think of Nintendo after all this new stuff:

I felt bad for Nintendo at the start of the conference when Reggie was touting how cool it would be to drive a truck by tilting your controller. Their thunder was kinda robbed by Sony yesterday and their six-degree-capable tilt controller and the warhawk demo.

Also, I can't stress enough how much i LOVE the idea of having a speaker in the wiimote. The idea of hearing an arrow leave your hand and land on the screen makes gaming that much more immersive.

Or reload sounds in gun games. At first I couldn't think what the speaker would be for but now it seems like a decent enough idea.

I must say the Revolution is looking like more a tempting secondary system every day.

IT'd work in Horror games/mystery games as well. Radios crackling, mysterious phone calls; it's a great touch.

Think of how it could have worked with a MEtal Gear game...you hear the codec noise from the controller, and everytime you talk over the radio/codec, the voices ceom from that thing instead (perhaps even lower the sound so that you have to raise it up to listen, like a phone).

Shit, Kojima hasn't revealed anything yet...I can't wait for him to unveil his new Wii game!

No preorders at EB, obviously, but no list yet either. They figure within the month they'll start. We shot the shit for a while about E3 in general, mostly the Wii with some Sony bashing and MS info thrown around.

And for the record, during a half hour-plus conversation with three game store employees and a second customer, there were zero smiles, snickers or jokes about the name "Wii." Nintendo FTW.

But Wii means URINE Botticus...or did you miss the hilarious memos?

Haring tha tthe VC will be open to amateur/indie devs makes me want this all the more; this si asusming Nintendo is finally out of its Assholio Liscensing mode.

Where did you hear that?

I must have missed that...sounds sweet, though.

I think Super Paper Mario will be able to distract me from the Wii Launch in Q4 long enough for either
a.) Any launch kinks to be cleaned up or
b.) The initial price drop.

Overall I think it's going to be a good E3

Screw History testing! I can't believe I'm missing sooo much right now! I want to do all these happy things and say these happiness and DANCE THE HAPPY DANCE!!!!!!

It's just awesome, Nintendo is doing a damn well fine job.
Star Fox DS looks to be free-roaming...I want it ON RAILS, DAMMIT!
I have to agree. I hope that some of the levels are on rails...a mix of both like Starfox 64 would be good. I noticed most of the screenshots show enemies mapped out on the bottom screen though like they would be in a free roaming enviornment. I'm still psyched though.
My head hurts from all the awesome.
Pretty much sums it up.

What a conference, what a day.

I can't wait to even just get this bad boy on a pre-order list.

Elite Beat Agents = Ouedan, right?

All I heard about it was its a sweet rythm game, and I loved Jam With the Band, and hopefully will like this.

He mentioned it in the press conference, saying something like "Now something can be done for those whose creativity exceeds their budget."

I just noticed this...anyone else think the cord from the wiimote to the analog may be a little too short? There could be some pretty intense sword slashes in the and could rip it right out of the wiimote...
