Personally, my lasting memory of the Switch will be losing myself into hundreds of hours of Animal Crossing during the Covid lockdown 😷
Oh yeah! I wasn't even thinking about Animal Crossing but yes, during COVID my wife and I put hundreds of hours into our island, so much so that I bought a second Switch so that we could do the Turnips time travel thing to get more bells.

Oh hey, among the Nintendo BF deals is $20 off the pro controller. That might be an easy pickup for me. I'll have to make a note to keep an eye out for when the sale starts.

Was just thinking, the Switch’s legacy might be relatively insignificant in the future. What new IP were introduced this generation? Arms, 1-2 Switch, Ring Fit Adventure? Even the Wii U introduced Mario Maker and Splatoon.

Who buys Nintendo systems for new IP? Since the NES it's been Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Golf/Mario Golf, ... and then there's stuff like FZero from the SNES, Wario Land on the GB, 3D mario games with the N64, Xenoblade with the Wii... and so on. They sometime introduce stuff and it sticks but often it doesn't. Like Splatoon started with the WiiU but it really hit with the Switch and the second and third games.

For myself, I'll remember the switch for that first day of setting it up and walking out of that first cave in Breath of the Wild to the lookout point and just smiling in awe. They really crafted a great world with that one. There are so many great games I've played this gen and they also did a solid job of giving us some past generations of content pretty much all through Nintendo's history. The entire Xenoblade franchise (not all Xeno, just Xenoblade) will be on the Switch in a few months. There have been duds like that Princess Peach game but then Mario Odyssey was just brilliant. I'm so ready for another proper new Mario 3D game. Merging the console and handheld lines into one worked out very well. While others have sort of done some of this before (see PSP GO and it's dock with a PS3 controller)... this was a real mainstream push for a hybrid console. I think that's a big part of the legacy, changing what a console even is. That it can be a handheld or a table top system with a kickstand or it can light up a tv.

I'd love to order the Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Adventure Bundle on Switch from Nintendo.Uk but they don't ship to U.S. .. come with some great Pre-order Bonuses.. anyone know how to get this over here ? I don't think they will send to forward services either

You may need to try ebay or if someone likes in the uk uses these forums. I had no trouble using forwarding services in the past for Nintendo uk and jp before the covid outbreak. Now it seems they are cracking hard. You can try forward2me and ask them.

Is the Pikmin 1&2 remaster worth $30? Any major QoL improvements from the originals?
Both games have updated visuals.

It looks like Pikmin 1 has improved throwing controls and camera. As well as some glitches that were patched.

Pikmin 2 is mostly the same except for them straight up replacing all the name brand items with generic stand-ins. I was disappointed in that, but I love Pikmin 2 so bought it anyway. It's still the hardest Pikmin game due to the randomness of enemy drops when you're in the caves. Luckily it saves between each descent so resetting isn't a big issue, but you will be doing that a ton if attempting a no-death run.

I paid $30 for just Pikmin 2. I wish I could have bought both for that same price 😭

How bad does Hogwarts Legacy run on the Switch? 🤔
If you can deal with loading screens and some jagged graphics here and there, you should be good. It ran fine docked while my husband played through it, I didn't notice much in the way of massive chugging drops in frames or anything. So it depends on your tolerance for graphics I would say. Go watch some non-spoilery gameplay on Youtube.

Thanks. The eshop sale lasts through the 3rd of next month I think, so I might see if physical goes cheaper/same price for BF. 😁

YW. They did a lot of work to port it. It's not perfect, but like Witcher, it's entirely playable, if you're not going to freak over some graphic downgrading. Walmart normal price seems to be $40 now, and you might be able to pick it up cheaper as B2G1 at Gamestop on preowned on BF.

Super Mario RPG is $34.99 today only through Target circle.

If you miss this and still want the game, it's $34.99 used at GameFly.

Not as good as when I bought it there for $29.99 ... but not a terrible deal.

The Nintendo Store has a few physical games on sale. Picked up GTA trilogy (yeah, I know but it's patched now) for $30, another N64 controller, and a few My Nintendo freebies (Splatoon 3 bag, NES hat, postcards).

Edit: Oh and they added Apple/Google Pay as payment methods so I was able to get 5% cash back with my Kroger card. DON'T BE JEALOUS

I noticed the GTA deal this morning as well while looking through dekudeals price drops on physical games. I'm waiting for Monday and the price on the Pro Controller to drop. IF that GTA deal is still active, I may take advantage of it even though PC is my preferred platform for GTA games.

$75 off Switch/Switch OLED next week at Target, per their ad.

Edit..Mario Kart 8 bundles.
