Obama Care Could Be Deadly

Stay classy Republicans.

The Confederate Flag is a particularly nice touch. I'm saying this to be a troll because I know it's going to bring up that everloving conversation about how, symbolically, it's a heritage thing. Which might have been true in 1861, and thus totally needs to be true today, nearly 150 years later.

And for more fun:

I too hope to one day be a part of a poorly named organization to protest something I don't know the first thing about. Maybe I can start the Dirty Sanchezi, and we can go after the Large Hadron Collider, because why can't we have Small Hadron Collision too?

*sigh*

And they say the bill isn't bipartisan. If a Democrat does what a Republican would do, that's not bipartisan? Talk about your all time greatest moving targets!

Hamsher is destroying the bill on firedoglake, too.

"bipartisan" simply means that citizens are going to get it up both ends. I had a feeling Obama was going to end up being a corporate shill, but I didn't think it'd be this soon or of this magnitude.

I don't know if it's sad or funny that most of the outspoken and visible activists related to the tea party movement support establishment Republicans (while saying they don't support establishment Republicans). What are they trying to prove? That their corporatist loser party enjoys bending citizens over at an equal or greater rate than the other corporatist loser party?

And he got...nothing out of it. Only Obama reaffirming existing law. Nice job Stupak!! You've really disappointed The Family though...

Am I the only one who actually likes watching CSpan? Even before the Health Care Deform Bill hoopla, it's very interesting to see how things work.

The vote's over for the Senate bill. 219 yeas for HR 3590 (Passed). The reconciliation bill will come up soon.

EDIT: The recommit motion is denied.
EDIT 2: The reconciliation bill (HR 4872) is up for vote. 220 yeas, it has passed the House. The Senate is up next.

GOP admits they will campaign for 2010 on the basis of repealing the bill.

Yeah, good luck repealing increased regulation (e.g. no pre-existing condition droppage) of insurance companies that kick in immediately. That'll go over well with people.
...

Stupak got "baby killer" shouted at him by a Republican during his speech about 15 minutes ago.
Classy to the bitter end

Wait did some tea tantrum ninny sneak into the peanut gallery and shout it or was this is a congressional colleague?

Is there even a difference anymore?
Five years from now, I bet it'll still be Bush's and the Republican's fault that this bill didn't go as planned. :)
lol you know it. BDS runs strong
Kind of like how one year into spending a fraction of the cash we needed for stupid wars, the deficit is all Obama's fault.
I'm a Canadian currently living in the states and I think it is great that the US has taken a tiny step towards joining Canada from the 1960s. Keep it up guys! At this rate you'll catch up to my backwards country in about 30 years! :applause:

No joke, probably take a decade+ before this bill is fixed enough to pretend we actually live in a civilized society that can you know have nice stuff.

Weird that Obama hasn't gotten us out of those stupid wars yet.

It's good now. Now that health care is out of the way, perhaps he can focus on that.

You just won. I am sorry.

Seriously though, if Canada was somewhere warmer, like where California was, I would highly consider moving there... but it's too damn cold, so fuck that.
I hate this socialist country we are becoming, where everyone will have healthcare and jobs.
Wait - I thought Obama already got everyone jobs with his stimulus spending.

The wingnut tears are so delicious:

Nancy Pelosi will be grinning and laughing this afternoon. Today will do more damage than 9/11.
- Boortz

"For most of the 20th century people fled the ghosts of communist dictators. And now you are bringing the ghosts back into this chamber."
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA)

"This bill is unconstitutional and it cannot be fixed. It must be repealed,"
-"Waterloo" DeMint

Hurr durr derp derp indeed.

"Today, America witnessed the first vote for the end of representative government.
- RNC Chairman Michael Steele

Fail on you magnificent bastard.

boy, the GOP made out like bandits today. a half-assed health care gets passed, they still bitch about it, and will benefit from it come november.

This is so exciting! I can't wait for my insurance rates to go up to pick up for the remainder a lot of people aren't paying!

In fact, I might quit my job this week! I'm going to start demanding stuff, too! I truly do believe it's unfair I don't live in an 8 bedroom house. I hope I'm given one someday.

Welcome to socialism. Bread line's over there, sock line's over there. We gather in the square to salute the statue First Citizen around 10:30 every day. You definitely don't wanna be late for that. And, uh... yeah, that's the essentials. You'll figure out the rest. Have fun!

Um... move to British Columbia? The west coast barely even gets a winter.
Oh thank god. I've been without Health Insurance for a while now... my College Health insurance coverage was pointless.
Do you think you'll still be in College in 4 years? Because that's when it'll take effect.
