Jer, I've always had bad luck with invisible shields. They either bubble up, look bad, etc. Any recommendations?
I'm going to have to bring my DS to Gamestop one day this week and grab that NG demo (along with reserving MGS4).
Oh and I fixed up the PS3 tag in my sig. That PS3 page is nice for making tags, but I hate how they make all the icons the title of the game. Looks way too squished IMO. What do you guys think of the changes I made?
I've got one tiny bubbly spot on mine, but I figure it's a small price to pay for how well they work. Mine has always looked great, much better than those crappy screen protectors you buy at the store. They are tough to apply, but just keep the area clean and use plenty of that spray lubricant they provide so you can move the shield around while applying and get bubbles out. The bubbles work their way out over the course of a few days as well.
I thought the linear aspect of Heavenly Sword was a downside personally. Well, that and the length.
I dunno, I've become too accustomed to linear games that if I'm not told what to do, I tend to turn it off and rarely get to it, but that could be due to having very little time to play games and/or forgetting where to do when I go back to old games.
For me, I was a big fan of the motion controls mostly in PSN games (like Toy Home, although I know many hated it, High Velocity Bowling, Blast Factor, flOw, etc.), and in some retail games (like shooting free throws with the controller in NBA 2k8. Very hard at first, but good once you figure it out).
Hehe, I saw your old PSP listed in the Facebook marketplace
Lol, sorry if I sound like a stalker.
.
They need to make more accessories for the PSP slim.
I think Sony decided to not sell many was due to many accessories not really selling well with the previous PSP (since I've seen many of those accessories go on clearance over the years).
I need a case. I can be very OCD about my games. I refuse to carry a handheld anywhere without a case. Especially the PSP. I'm using my old Logitech one right now, which works but the slim moves around slightly in there and it annoys me. It shouldn't but it does.
I'm using the old PSP case which I got with my previous PSP with my slim and it seems to be fine. Finding that case can be hard, but my local Sears still has them clearanced. I use my old Logitech case for my PSP Phat though.

You probably remember, but the site PS3 Gamercard (that use to be around), I was the one who put together the majority of the icons early on (since I worked with the guy on another forum I use to post at a lot starting it up). I know you know about it since you all all your gamercards in your sig match it.
My favorite SixAxis control is for charging ninpo in Sigma. Totally unnecessary, but fun. I still occasionally shake the 360 controller out of habit, like an idiot
Dragon Sword will be awesome. The stylus controls are amazing and really, who saw 3D Ninja Gaiden being faithfully reproduced on the DS of all consoles?
Played the GoW PSP demo. Like all GoW demos, it's freaking awesome. All of the demos for that game have blown me away (especially the first one.) Then the full games seem too long with too many artificial devices thrown in to make it challenging. I heard that even the final scenes in GoW PSP are just a bunch of big rooms with constantly spawning enemies :\ This time, I'm waiting for a deal before buying it it'll still sell 10 trillion copies and I guess it's nice to make people think they're playing a real action game
My favorite use of the SIXAXIS is turning it off right after I plug in my arcade stick, cuz I no longer need that crap when I play Tekken. Yep.
I really need to start selling off some games/accessories/systems. I'm pretty much out of room at home and I'm going to need some storage for this shit.
I'm having a BBQ today and I'm going to set up some video game systems.
One TV = Rock Band 360
Other TV = PS2 + HDD with all the usual fighting games
Other TV = PS3 and T5DR
Other TV = Wii and Brawl
Other TV = PS3 and random game playing

I'm really anxious to see how refined NG: DS is. That demo is forever-old (Sept 07?), and even some of the video feed they've released looks far more polished than that demo is... and the demo was amazingly well done.
Not that Ninja Gaiden story lines make any sense, but does anyone know where DS and 2 fit in with the original?

i think ds takes place between the ninja gaiden(xbox) and ninja gaiden 2
Played some disc golf with some neighbors this afternoon. The weather was real nice and we all had a very good time. We might do it again in a couple weeks.
Gonna dive back into Etrian Od---no! I mean, I'm gonna play some Final F-Etria---NO!! Must.....Not...Addicted........grrrr....
Sounds like a hell of a BBQ. Usually there's just hot dogs and burgers. But all that other shit... goddamn, das one in' great time to be had. Not even factoring in the games.
Anyway, I just got back from Best Buy. Things worked better than I expected. Since it was busy, they sent some lackey to grab a 360, which pissed me off coz I wanted to make sure it was a Falcon with the 175w shit. Well, they came back, I checked the box, and it was, so that was good. Then, I found out that not only did I not need to buy another warranty to still be covered for when (not if) it breaks again, but I got back $50-some because the price dropped since I bought the system. So I used some of that and grabbed Apollo Justice.
Seriously, everytime I say " YEAH" I think of that movie. It's not even a good movie, but I love that song.
Also, RPGFan wants to interview me this week. Hrm...
I use to be pretty close to RPGFan over 3 years ago. I use to post there a lot, wrote a reader review, and was looking into being one of their staff at one point (after the previous RPG site I worked for went under). But many members have changed at RPGFan since I use to post a lot.
Played Burnout Paradise for a long time with a few CAG members. Finally learned how to power brake in the game.
How are the pre-battle load times in FFVII PC?
There aren't any that I can remember. Pretty much the only loading issues I've ever come across in FFVII PC are little pauses between in-game graphics and FMVs.
Also, this isn't as technical, but the most glaring translation errors in FFVII PS1 were fixed in FFVII PC. PC version FTW.
Anyway, not much gaming today (so far). Just finished the first part of the third case in Apollo Justice.
I'd invite myself over if I was in the area lol. Ghamez + BBQ = Heaven.
And yeah, I really should turn off the sixxaxis controls in HS, but I was lazy last night and it wouldn't have made me like those levels a lot more. I'll definitely do it the next time I play which may or may not be tonight. I may do NGS tonight after we get home from my daughter's bday dinner and the kiddies go to bed. I'm saving R&C for when my DS3 arrives from PA. They shipped it earlier in the week, and I guess it will take a couple weeks to get here.
I'm debating whether to use my Strikebang coupon for another one, but we'll see.
Right. So mainly graphical upgrades then?
whoops, missed that.
"graphical upgrades" makes it sound so superficial. but I guess it is that for the most part. better graphics + better framerates + whatever other extras come along with the PC version.
So Mass Effect irked the hell out of me on the 360 since it ran ridiculously bad for a UE3 game on the 360. Going through all the menus with a controller was not fun, since I'm used to KB/M for WRPGs now. The dialog was also annoying, but that's a whole other issue. Long story short, I'll give it a second try on the PC with everything tuned up to my tastes.
The dialog/story may bother the hell out of me again, but that's a matter of circumstance...sometimes dialog/cut scenes make me turn off a game in short order, sometimes I dig it even if it's bad.
I picked up Lost Odyssey last night and I'm about to dig into that. I would've played it last night, but I had to spend 2 and a half hours out in the cold trying to fix my POS car. My friend and I went to pick up a pizza and it died in the parking lot. So we ate the pizza there and walked back, got his truck, and tried to jump it. No go, so I went and bought a new battery. It still wouldn't start. I've had to bang on the starter in the past, so I gave it a shot and it worked. I think a wire's loose or some shit.
Also played some R6 Vegas PC. That game is sloppy, and I have to run it at 1280x720 with medium shadows just to get it running smooth. For the record, Gears of War runs maxed at 1680x1050 at 60 fps and looks 2x better.
Played some Melee and Rock Band with some friends tonight. Can it be next week now so that Brawl would be out? Please?
Also played a bit of NG: Sigma (at the forced underwater part which makes me want to just stop playing it each time I get there. Seriously, for a game with such refined gameplay as NG, that whole section is just wretched) and too much of both n+ and Kirby 64. Needless to say. Paper work was not up to par with what I had planned for today.
I played LO for over an hour and didn't want to stop. I really enjoyed the music and really liked the story (I'm a sucker for an endless number of cutscenes).
TMK, why do you have... whats his face from Lost Planet as your avatar? He's not exactly the most enigmatic of personalities.
Because I used Patapon last week as my sig/avatar (since I couldn't think of one I liked for DW6) and the game I was most interested in buying this week was Lost Planet (which I will). I do watch the trailer to the game constantly though. I had a Lost Planet avatar/sig up over a year ago, but it was different (I never re-use the same ones).
Next week will probably be God of War, then Wild Arms XF.
ing DMC3 disc freezes up on me. Time to return it tomorrow. I started Son of Sparda mode in DMC4 instead. Really fun, and I'm starting to get the hang of the timing for revving nero's sword as you hit enemies.
I could do without the Blitz enemies in the game, though. I really don't understand how to fight them.
That's pretty much how you fight them. Use your gun until they get stunned, then move in and beat the mess out of them. Then they turn red and get really pissed. Go back to the gun until they die.
If you beat them up enough when you stun them, you can avoid the pissed part.
wow. Just got back from the best date I've been on in a long time.
We watched a movie, then afterwards played some Wii Sports Bowling and finished a 20 turn game of Mario Party. So much fun, and with an attractive lady
And tomorrow is time to return back to the real world and study for 2 tests at the end of the week. sucks. Going to play some 360 to finish off the night then off to bed.
I fell asleep playing patapon earlier. I'm not enjoying the game as much as people are saying. Simplistic strategy gameplay with repetitive rhythm mechanics thrown in isn't doing it for me so far. I'll stick with it, though.
Burnout Paradise is done. After I got my Burnout class license I just drove around for a while aimlessly. I would probably go for 100% if I thought it wouldn't be the most frustrating thing I've ever done.
Next up: FFT: War of the Lions. I am terrible at SRPGs. I don't think I'll make it to the end. Pray for me, GGT.

I've only played the PC version on FF VII, weird huh
I Hate GGT for reasons already stated in a GGT many moons ago.
on that note, I'm currently intrigued by Rockstar's The Warriros. I always was wondering what would happen if an underground movie got a sequil through a good game...

If I wasn't broke that one time, I could have went out to dinner/movie with this one hot girl.
Haha, my first post in GGT 35. I'm so pissed that I didn't get to play any Lost Odyssey this weekend...
I want to play it tonight, but probably won't have time.
Yeah the GGT has become slow since last week, about the time Inu left us.
Agreed. Along with having a few others not posting too much as of recent (like me due to college), it has slowed down tremendously. GGT sometimes has a slow time, but it will pick back up eventually.
They used that vocal track in FF8 in the strangest place. There's dialog scrolling while it's going on that doesn't even fit the tone, squall is still being a dick to rinoa, and the esthar station is giving them landing directions.. it pretty much fails at being romantic, except for the short bit when rinoa hops on squall's lap. I wish it would have just been a turning point for squall's character instead of the usual awkwardness he has.
So who is getting R6:Vegas 2? I got a $20 gift card and a $5 reward zone to burn up. I am thinking it is going to R6:Vegas 2. I can't wait. I might use the reward zone for Appleseed Ex Machina. It would be $15 after the Best Buy Blu coupon. So when is this drought of no games coming this year? I think each month has at least some decent releases, if everything comes out on time. Crazy.
Pretty solid gaming weekend for me since I've been layed up sick. Friday I polished off the last couple of chapters of Half Life 2 Episode 1, and then played CoD4 online for a couple hours with some fellow CAGs. Yesterday I powered through all of Half Life 2 Episode 2.
Doubt I'll do much gaming today, have some friends coming over for dinner/movie this evening. Maybe a little COD4 or Guitar Hero 3 before....
