Official: Battlestar Galactica Season 4 Discussion Thread **BEWARE OF SPOILERS**
Do you even watch the show?
Don't be a smartass. I offered my opinion/argument as to who the fifth Cylon might be, and I stand by my reasoning.
Having a Cylon/Cylon child with Chief and Cally seems pretty frakkin logical. Obviously after the airlock incident their feelings toward each other would satisfy the Cylon love issue. And yes I know the child was concieved/born way before then, but still...the airlock rekindled their relationship, so I assume at some point on New Caprica they loved each other enough to sire a child.

As to the comments about Apollo saying "What if Zack was a Cylon?" etc, and the speculation that little comments like that from anyone could be a clue..those could easily be red herrings as well. The idea is to make you think one thing then drop a bomb that noone else had considered up till that point. Cally as the fifth would be a helluva bombshell.

But, these are just my opinions. Take them as you will. Or don't.

No his opinion was fine, anyone (besides Starbuck because that would be cheap) could be a Cylon. But then he went into the whole Cylon breeding thing that was talked about in season 1 or 2. So it's obvious he/she didn't bother watching those episodes.

no argument that trip seemed to overlook that storyline of the show, doesn't mean that trip didn't watch it. It was a couple of years ago. 2nd of all it isn't like tv shows follow previous laid out storyline to a tee. It happens all the time on tv. You also are one of the more aggressive posters. IMO, there is nothing wrong with that, but for a person with a grand total of 4 posts they probably don't know how you usually post

I just watched it today. I liked it alot. Things are starting to heat up a bit. I didnt get to see whats coming up for next week though but it should be good.

Trust me that's good, from what I have seen Sci-fi Channel really fucked people over and wrecked the episode.

And the Toasters are clearly going to kill the human Cylons. All this has happened before and all this will happen again.

I don't know what's going on now inside Baltar's head, but that conversation with himself was hilarious.

...and nothing like a good old civil war to stir things up.

Well than thank god I missed it. I hate when shit gets ruined early. And yea I did a double take with the whole Baltar taking to himself part. And how about
Six making the centurions aware and having them kill all the other cylons. That was freaking crazy.

Another great episode this week. The head Baltar was great, and this cylon civil war could get very interesting very fast.

The fact that the toasters had a restraining chip in them is very interesting. I guess that they aren't the Cylons that rebelled against the humans during the first war, because there's no way they would let other robots enslave them, especially ones that look just like humans.

My guess is that the skinjobs are the original Cylons in new bodies, and they built the new toasters and raiders.
I wonder how long the emancipated toasters remain loyal to the skin jobs that took the chip off of them?
About 35 minutes into this episode, tops.

Poor poor Cally. She was one of my favorite characters and I will really miss her.

The Cylon Civil War is really shaping up to be good. I can't wait to see what Six's faction does now that the other Cylons are trying to destroy them and prevent them from being resurrected.
Also, Cavil is a BADASS of a Cylon.
Yeah, he's easily one of my favorite Cylons. He had some great scenes tonight.

Go watch the preview for next week's episode, Escape Velocity on SciFi.com. There's Cally, alive and well 5-6 seconds into the video. Unless Nicki (the actress) is in the episode in flashbacks only, I'd say we have a winner.

Boosh and/or kakow, Bigdaddy.
She is still a useless pointless character who I hope is a Cylon and gets thrown out an airlock ASAP.
This has to have been the most fucking prophetic post I have ever seen. You said this shit before the second episode even aired! Unfuckingbelievable.

Yea, I'm beginning to believe the Cally is a Cylon theory. It just makes sense.

HOLY fuckING SHIT, I am enraged!

I was first upset that Cally was stupid enough to not only want to kill herself and her child, but also tell *nobody* else what she knew before doing it. But then for her to actually die? Wow.

And Starbuck continues to be a stupid whore.

My money on flashback. It could also be something like a made up story of what happened because Chief can't just go "I'm a Cylon and she killed herself". But from that video, I didn't see Cally, but Tigh's wife is "alive and well" too! There are 13 Cylons now! Adama in an episode last year saw his dead wife, that's 14 Cylons!

And the airlock thing was only a guess, they seem to like doing that on the show and I HATE Cally.

What pisses me off is that she didn't tell anyone, maybe they thought she is crazy, and that no one was in the bay area. She wanted to kill her child because it's half Cylon.
Yes.

She has been since the end of season 2. I thought she became the better Starbuck after dieing, but not. They really can't seem to figure out what to do with her.

LOL Cheapy. That was one intense episode. Man the season just keeps getting better and better. I wonder how Tory killing Cally will play out with the final four.

I saw this on another site I go to:
orionyr9.png

They're getting really close to Earth now if they can see Orion's Belt.

Holy shit! I didn't even notice that! Looks like I have to go back and watch that episode again.
That was a bitch slap for the ages.
Whiny bitch got what she deserved: getting backhanded and flying twenty feet back!

IMO last weeks episode was sorta meh...I have never been a big fan of Cally as a character and considering a large chunk of the episode revolved around her, I got very very bored with it.

In BSG news, Tricia Helfer has inked a deal to work on USA networks Burn Notice. Hit the link for more details

I have also read some Caprica news from a variety of tv websites and it looks like
grandpa adama had a close connection with the mafia...

For next week's preview, did they show Chief with a shaved head?

As for last night's episode, it was kinda bleh, really focused on Baltar's religious beliefs and the cylons on Galactica exploring their humanity. But next week's episode looks kinda good.

Yeah, last night was a little slow. I wish they only had 15 instead of 20 episodes. The pacing would end up better and they could cut out some crap. I mean, look at how fantastic Lost has been this season, and what a lot of people claim is the primary reason for it; it's great pacing and lack of bullshit.

the previews for last nights episode looked good as well, and we saw how that turned out. I really hope that religion plays an important role in the final couple of episodes. As they have been building up on it a lot.

I dunno about the less episodes. After Lost toiled around for a season or 2, they got an end date and they set a outline of how they wanted to end. The good pacing is just been because of a great ouline on where they wanted to end and solid writting for each episode. Battlestar knows this is the final season, so it really has to do with poor planning and bad writting. They didn't even touch on the cyclon civil war last night or the consequences of 6 and her crew getting blown up.

Moore wanted 5 seasons, so the first 10 episodes will be like a season 4 and the last a season 5. So 10 instead of 13 or 20 is a huge cute.

I feel the passing is find, it's about the Cylons trying to figure out what they are. It's also obvious that it is building up for a civil war on both the humans and Cylon spots. I enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed it when Chief went insane and went "Yeah I married that bitch because I couldn't do better".

The most recent episode once again reminded me that I hate almost every single character in the show with a passion, and yet I'm fiercely addicted to watching them run around making bad decisions like the stupid, horrible people they are. Weird.
They didn't even touch on the cyclon civil war last night or the consequences of 6 and her crew getting blown up.
I was quite irritated at this. I just don't understand why they aren't going back and forth between the human and cylon story lines more often in each show, just like previous seasons.

I couldn't help thinking "What the hell was that all about" when Chief lost it. I still don't quite understand what they are doing with his character.
i guess baltar found another cyclon playing thing. seems like tory is his new 6.
I'm beginning to despise Tory. I'm not sure why but I am. And what about
Tygh? What's his deal with the 6? Am I the only one who thinks Tygh's wife was an older version of a 6? And when are they going to bring back the Deanna model? We know she's coming back... JUST DO IT ALREADY!

I hate suspense...

Because this is how they want to write the episodes, I like this structure better. It's like LOST, you have the ebach, and the people at camp, and the people on the boat, you never see al of them at once.

If you hate suspense than why do you waste your time watching TV?

The chief is just losing it. the guy just found out he is a cyclon his whole life, and his wife is dead.

the girl that he really is in love with turns out to be a cyclon and attempted to kill the admiral. then he finds out that there is another version of his love, but she loves another guy and now has a baby and is still alive.

i would have to say he is at his all time low.

tory is just a whore now.

first off, nothing wrong with having a whore on a show

2nd....a little bump as there is a new episode is on tonight

tvguide ask ausiello said
that earth was coming a lot sooner then expected

Considering the previews for 2nights episode seemed to show a decent amount of starbuck and the ship she is on, i would love for
the ending scenes to show earth

I wish, that ending would have been great.

Right now I'm kind of pissed off, they only have like 15 episodes left and they are still dragging their feet. They could have combined this episode and last because they were mostly lame.

And Chief last episode hated Cally and I loved that, now he misses her and blah blah...

yeah the episode was very weak...when did
boomer became such a trusted person...last i checked she was a confirmed cyclon...and boomer along with some members of the rest of the crew were calling starbuck a toaster...what the fuck is up with boomer being a lead in the group cyclon hunt
You mean besides the fact that she isn't boomer but an entirely different cylon? Same model, yes, but totally different experiences.

Yea, this episode was very disappointing to me as well. Lots of conjecture and food for speculation but no real substance. If Leobin wasn't such a mind fuck I might have actually believed some of the points he made. Oh well, there's always the next episode...

Yep yep yep. What did I tell you? 20 episodes=too much time to fill=boring episodes like last night's.

The Baltar=Jesus thing better fucking mean something that isn't completely fucking gay.

Yeah it's not Boomer, but it is some other Cylon and everyone was acting like having a Cylon on the ship was a terrible thing. Messy writing if you ask me.

I'm starting to think that maybe the writers strike did affect the show too. There were a couple lines in last night's episode that had me thinking who is writing this.

But, yeah, I agree. Seems like they doing some filler episodes and it's getting pretty old. Although next week seems to go back to the base star that was attacked, it's been nearly a month before they finally got to it(although there was a mention this week that it was damaged).

These episodes were written long before the writers strike happened. They already filmed at least the first 10 episodes before the strike, and were working on filming 4.11 to 4.13.

I think it's the writers trying to build suspense and failing. They wanted a 5th season, and they said even a 6th could work, but that 5 was best. Now that there are only 4 the writers are just dragging their feet. Some people might comment that LOST is also dragging its feet, but LOST has 2 more seasons after this one so the teasing works better.

I still don't believe that it's too much time to fill, and just the fact they had it badly planned out.

Like BigDaddy said, the writers' strike isn't the problem. It's really just the writing and pacing itself. They have at least five stories going on at once (Starbuck, Cylons, 4 skinjobs, Lee Adama/Roslin, Jesus Baltar) and yet they can't keep some episodes from seeming forced and slow. WTF? I mean, when you have so much going on, shouldn't it be easier to fill up time in a way that doesn't drag everything down? The first two episodes were awesome, but thing started to get shaky in episode 3, even though it was still good. Episode 4, Escape Velocity, was kinda meh, and then this last one was crap.

IMO it is either really horrible story planning/writting or they blew the budget (again) and have minimal money left for editing for a bunch of shows.
