BTW... I don't think these deals are THAT bad. EBGames brings back the Buy2Get1, Chaos Theory for 10 is solid, and there are some good DVD buys. Still waiting on Circuit City, too. I'm actually pretty surprised that Circuit City has managed to keep their ad secret this long.

Shipping games to Japan is not as expensive as you might think, as long as you don't have the stores themselves do it. If I order it to someones house (*cough*Jaket*cough), they can ship USPS Global Priority Mail up to 4lbs for as little as $5 with a 4-6 day delivery time.

It's actually made up. It's been sent to press and will probably be posted by this weekend at the latest.

I think the reason for that is that most retailers believe that the real next gen does not start until next year.

I haven't seen any deals worth getting up for...no deals on the PS2 systems and no good game deals either. :(

From what they have been saying on CNBC from the retail analysts, most stores are not going to be discounting too early or too much except for Wal-mart.

If they start discounting it will be after Black Friday and after they see their weekly sales numbers. Look for sales after the 10th of December provided nobody goes out early and makes a lot of purchases which shows good volume and sales which will ruin if for everyone else.

According to the news, home electronics and entertainment items will be the last to be discounted this year because many items have already been discounted.

People keep saying that... Wal-Mart... low price leaders... cutting prices for Christmas. But, I sat bull crap. Retail analysts are tools. Target is killing Wal-Mart on everything from toys to video games to new DVD releases...

Just great.. I was counting on that price drop, so I could get a new "old gen" system. Hopefully the retailers don't hold off until next christmas. As rumored when the PS3 will be shipping here. Sony is not the only gen. With the launch of the 360, the next gen has started without Sony. ;)

I fell prey to their makerting, and hype with the last "next gen" system. (PS2)

That's why I passed on the original Xbox when I was in better finances.
Now, I was hoping to get a Black Friday deal on a brand new one, but I guess that's not happening. :bomb:

Stores usually won't price match another store unless they're within the same region as the store, and have a venue close enough that it could reasonably be considered "competition".

Oh, I just noticed that the free stuff is with the purchase of any GBASP. SO I assume it includes the new ones with the brighter scfreens. And I know my CC still has the GBA SP Packages with the copy of Metroid in them. I saw them the other day.

As for the Sandisk, all I can make out if after Instant and Mial in Rebate. Can't tell how much each is though.

Most places won't do BF PM's, since they consider just about everything in the ad to be a "doorbuster" or "limited availability" or other such BS. Depends on the store, though I've always been dickstomped when I've tried.

I remember seeing in another thread about EB having some sort of buy 2 used and get 1 free deal for Black Friday. However, it's not listed on the main post of this thread. Was it just a rumor?

They are probably holding some copies of SC:CT in the back...no way are they going to go to the trouble of advertising it as a Black Friday special and then not have any for sale!

I was wondering this too, I don't see it listed on any of the black friday sites. That's a bummer if it was only a rumor, I was going to get a bunch of game at my local EB.
 
Dang that, i want them to have that "80% off any used PC game 19.99 and less again"

But now that gamestop powns them, that's mostl likely a once--in-a-lifetime deal.

I don't know if you have to buy those games for the offer, but since it says "select" one could assume so? Then again, by "select" they might mean whatever selection of games they have. In the past it was intended for their entire selction of video games (buy 1, get one 50% off), so I would tend towards the latter.

The PSP deal is for Fri and Sat, btw.
