I'm also traveling for work atm ;)

Worked so hard to hit 387 and everyone passed me within a few hours of the update

Hah - I've been able to make my Titan 387 for a few weeks if I wear all the right gear but I suppose that is way outdated now. My other two I could only hit 386 with. Fortunately I have a lot of engrams and rank-up packages waiting for me when I get home.

What are the light levels for the Raid? Does it start at 390 and go to 410 at the end? That seems to be what they usually do (making the end boss above the level you can currently achieve).

And what about those final boss mechanics? Surely something tricky changed there. I suppose if I don't get in on the Raid this week it isn't the end of the world. Unlike previous Raid light level increases there seem to be plenty of other ways to get to the cap and the higher I am before I try to tackle the Raid the easier it will be. I don't have time for damage penalty struggles... I'll have plenty of other things to do this weekend (Trials, yo).

Phase 1 is almost the same but Siva turrets spawn right, left, and middle and you have to keep taking them out or they will chew you up.

Phase 2 has three cycles of servitors each time before he will teleport.
 
Anyone doing the normal raid this weekend?  I need to get into a raid and get up to 385 along with finishing it for the first time for the record book and the achievement.

Yes, normal raid weapons and armor is capped at 385. So are the exotic drops from your normal mode. The hard mode exotic drop chance is supposedly lower, but those exotics can go up to 400.

If you skip normal and just do hard, you have two exotic chances at the chests and can actually receive two exotics, one capped at 385 and one that goes up to 400.

But will the Raid RL, Shotgun, Fusion, Auto, and Scout drop above 385+ During heroic mode?

Sorry, no. They are capped at 385. Only the heroic weapons drop above (sidearm, handcannon, pulse, sniper, LMG). Basically we're forced to infuse those other weapons if we want them above 385. I just instantly dismantled the normal mode weapons that dropped for me last night. They were pointless to me since I already have one of each. Only kept the heroic stuff.

Well, damn, I have to come back out here next week and maybe the week after.

I am seriously considering picking up a Slim this weekend while I'm at home, do all the downloads, and bring it back with me next Monday.  I'll be looking for a deal on one this weekend.

You guys think a Slim Xbox One would be able to handle being in a suitcase?  I'd probably just keep it in its box and put it in my suitcase, padded with clothes.

Are you checking the luggage? It still would probably be ok if you kept it in the box, but I wouldn't trust it loose if you are checking you bag. Carrying on or gate checking you are probably fine with it in the suitcase even loose.

I would definitely just put it in a laptop backpack though. Any of the larger ones at Target works fine with the original xbox one, so a slim would be a breeze.

 
I just opened the strike hoard at the end of the Undying Mind and I got an Imago Loop with these perks:

Firefly
Explosive Rounds
Hot Swap

This sounds like a fun gun, but is it really any good?
 
Well, I'm home but apparently I'm not allowed to play Destiny.

After a super-slow 4.1 GB Xbox update, Destiny keeps trying to install a 500 MB update and it gets to 56% and then quits and starts it over again - like 8 times so far.  I have storage space so that's not it.  Fun stuff.

For PvE you'd want Firefly, Outlaw and explosive for a Fatebringer roll.

PvP it is actually same archetype as Eyasluna, so range perks

Was the 4gb one an xbox preview update? If so you might want to take your main console off of that system. I found that the last few updates would cause a ton of issues once they first released and they didn't always update for me overnight like they are supposed to when you have the console in Instant On mode. That 500mb one took about 2 hours on hotel internet for me though.

I did end up getting a HM raid clear in last night so it felt good to be finished with that only a few days after it released. Got stuck a bit at Vosik in some LFG groups including one who had me holding right side with a 381 who kept bragging about how he was never the one who was causing wipes even though he was the lowest light. Of course he was constantly hiding in the middle/right behind the crates so I was pretty much one manning that side. Next group proved to be really solid, although we did have a few wipes at Vosik. Once we got by that we first timed Zamboni, even while being down 1 or 2 guys at the end. First phase Aksys wasn't too bad, but we did have some wipes due to people just being tired. When we got to last phase we actually ran it first try. I think in a way the mechanics of the fight with multiple bombs might make it easier because it gives everyone more time to sort out where empowered needs to go.

Got a decent haul of loot, 397 & 396 pulse, 396 & 395 snipers and 2 395 chest pieces. I got a few normal mode pieces that cap at 385. Also the exotics drop from both loot tables so you can get an exotic from a chest, get excited to see what LL it is and end up with a max 385 drop instead of a HM (up to 400LL) drop.

 
Damn, nice.  I would have liked to have gotten in on that.

I had to completely turn off my Xbox (which is what I had done while I was out of town - thus the 4GB update when I turned it back on).   Finally, after some more tries where the Destiny update stopped at 98%,I got it done.

I went through all my faction packages, and some of my engrams, then went and played some Archon's Forge.  I managed to get my Titan from 387 to 389 from that.  Not too exciting.  Then ChubbyNinja asked me to help with a normal raid phase 2 Aksis.  We almost had him one round, but hadn't done enough damage.  I think people weren't using the cannons enough.  Also, I was dead tired - had been up early AM in Atlanta for work, drove through Friday afternoon Atlanta traffic, flew on a 5+ hour flight, drove home here (another 45 minutes), had a late dinner, dealt with all the update nonsense, and was finally on.  I'm surprised I was able to function in Destiny at all ;).

I then hopped on my Warlock and infused a few things and my Warlock can also be 389.  I will deal with my Hunter today and will definitely want to run Nightfall and possibly the Raid and/or Trials this evening/tonight.

Fred Meyer has a one-day only $30 off $150 coupon for today which I might just use on an Xbox S for next week.

Going out to take advantage of the stacking Fred Meter deals ($30 off $150 and $30 gift cards for any 3 games $39.99 and up).  I will also probably use the $30 off on a new 3DS and a maybe that Xbox One S.

But I'll be back this evening some time (8-9pm Pacific) looking to run whatever.  I maxed all 3 of my characters at 389 and still have some exotic engrams, but they are mostly gauntlets from last week so I want to wait till I get a bit higher light to decode those.  I got ghosts and artifacts from Archon's Forge.  What's holding me back now is my heavy weapon and my chest piece and boots (faction packages keep giving me helmets).

It would be nice to get through at least part of the hard mode Raid this weekend.  Plus Nightfalls are a must.  I'll be LFGing the Nightfalls tonight if nothing else materializes.

I should be on tonight to take care of some of the weekly stuff if you want to run NFs or forge.  Possibly get first half of raid done on other 2 characters.  Will be travelling again this next week so want to take advantage of at least one more day of solid internet.  

Ran past one of those MS store kiosks in the local mall today and got to check out the XB1 S first hand.  Man that thing is tiny.  Would make travelling with one much easier.  I'll have to grab one when I find a good deal.  No Fred Meyer around here though.  They had the Gears custom box there and man that was sexay.  As much as i'd like to get one of those, I'm not sure I want to travel with it.  Don't need to be given the body cavity search in security due to my blood red xbox.  :beer:

 
I'm LL 392, and EVERY Exotic weapon engram decodes at LL 391.  WTF...

EDIT - Nevermind, the curse is broken.

I decided against getting the Slim for this trip, anyway.  So I have today to get 1 more Nightfall done and possibly one raid.  Then I'm back again Friday.

  • The other team killed themselves mostly, not sure why.

A little of both. I didn't get it in my reward package. I had some Microsoft money in my account so I added some silver and got it on my third try. Apparently that's lucky. Some people claimed to have thought $50 worth of silver and still not gotten it.

I opened my first package and I was so excited when it said I got a ghost!!!  :bouncy:

Then I checked my inventory and realized it was ghost mask.  :cry:

 
Anybody going to be on tonight? I could use some help on the last step to finally get the good sword. Also maybe scrape together a heroic mode raid group if possible.

I'm supposed to pick up Titanfall 2 tonight but I have no desire to start a new game.

Also I am bogged down at Archons Forge I can't get any ghost or artifact drops over 395. I guess I need to higher some of my other gear to around that level to trigger better drops there. I'm fresh out of exotic engrams I guess I will have to farm CoE or The Iron Tomb or something. I guess till I run the heroic mode raid I'm stuck at 393 and a half.
