Well mine has not locked up on me in the past few days. I played all of Marvel UA Gold for a second time and only issue I had was 2 disc read errors. So since I am haveing issues do I need to have it get to the red rings part or can I send it in no and them work on it at no cost.
theres a pamphlet inside the coffin with instructions
Wow, I didn't get any instructions. I did notice that the case # was on the old shipping label though.

Well, after jumping through hoops, I had to pick my box up at UPS @ 7:30 pm. They made me pick it up at the guardhouse, which meant another 30 minute wait. Got the coffin, sent it off Tuesday.

After all of the bullshit for the coffin.. which was an empty box essentially... they left a Directron order at my doorstep without a hassle on Tuesday. So.. they'll give me hell about an empty box.. but drop off an Antec Nine Hundred case, and a box containing a lightscribe burner and some other various PC stuff at my doorstep? Like with the coffin, I left a letter on the door with my signature to please leave deliveries on the porch. They took the letter with them and left it.

DHL tried to deliver a package from Fry's on Monday containing an Asus mobo and E6550 processor. Of course they didn't leave it (which is understandable), so I picked it up at 5 & was in and out of the place within 60 seconds. One thing that I failed to mention with my local UPS office is that they refuse to allow pickup at 5.. either you get there before 5, or your SOL (unless you make arrangements to pick it up at the guard house between 7:30-9:00). I was much more impressed with DHL.. and honestly, if UPS were as nice as they were about things (and understood that people who can't sign for delivery usually work until 5).. I wouldn't have been so pissed about it.

Now my return shipping label was for 3 day shipping.. is that something everyone else is getting? Hopefully that speeds things up. The RMA # was on the bottom of the label, and I also printed off a page listing the # as well as the issues with the 360.

Service was down yesterday, and today I have a new S/N. Two weeks previous to my old build date, which would put it as the 3rd week of August 06.

Does anyone know if any other numbers hold any significance?

My console just scratched my 3rd disc since I bought it last November. fucking bullshit that M$ won't replace the discs for you (unless they are M$ titles). The CS guy told me to go to the retailer and see if they would replace the disc. I laughed in his ear, and told him that his company should take some responsibility for this issue, and not push it off on the retailers to solve the problem.

Needless to say, my coffin should be arriving any day.
I logged on to the service site today, and it's telling me I dont' have a repair pending...

wth
Your S/N still the same?
Call them on Monday if nothing changes? If they fixed it already, that'd be some sort of record.
Wouldn't it just change the status to "device fixed, sent to customer" or something like that and have a tracking number?

I have no idea. My number changed and it said the same thing your's did, so I'm hoping it will be on it's way come Monday.

Well, I went ahead and called just now, just to make sure.. He said they're still "repairing" it, and thought it was weird they had it for that long.. and the service site is basically a POS

He said they could be changing it, getting it ready to be sent out too, so we'll see what happens

What, 10 days is long to that CSR?

Curious. I wonder if he knows what he is talking about either. Mine got there two weeks ago tomorrow. If they ship it out on Monday, I'd consider that quick.

Sitting here waiting for UPS to show up with my box, was walkin back from campus and saw 3 UPS trucks but when i got back I found nothing. They better show up before I have my next class.

EDIT: A UPS truck just drove down my street but again nothing, there playin with me
EDIT: A UPS truck just drove down my street but again nothing, there playin with me
I could just imagine the drivers conspiring at the end of the streets. "Ok, who's gonna drive down the street this time? Maybe stop for a minute outside his house, get out, tie your shoe, and then drive away. Make sure to note the look of utter disappointment as well."

its probably happening, i have to go to class in 20 minutes and we all know they are going to try and drop it off once i leave. :bomb:

Got mine back, but they gave me one with the freaken loud as hell disc drive, thing sounds like a jet engine. Startin to hate MS

Can you get your coffin even before your system is completely dead? Mine was RROD for 8 days and turned it on two days ago and has been working perfectly since. Dont want to wait for a box though once it eventually craps out...

You can, but they only allow soo many days before they consider the box "dead"

so you'd have to request another one

I think it's 14 days or so?

Yesterday my repair status changed to "no repair requested." I figured it was due to MS's 9/14-9/19 update to the support website. But this morning I have a new serial number -- manufactured the 38th week of '06 (rather than 9th week of '06). Based on earlier posts, shipping is imminent.

Little chance of making the Halo 3 launch, but hopefully I'll get it next week.

To Recap:
Coffin Call: 8/26/2007
Coffin Rec'd by me: ~8/31 (out of town)
Coffin Rec'd at McAllen: 9/6
Automated e-mail acknowledging receipt: 9/15
S/N change: 9/21
Shipped to me: 9/21

Edit: Update status
was booting up nhl 08 and the game froze and when i restarted the xbox i got 3 RROD :( did nhl 08 kill my xbox?
You should have purchased 2K8;) .

Well, mine showed a S/N change, but it disappeared and hasn't come back. I may call today.

I called today because they still haven't given me a tracking number for my coffin. Yesterday, I was told that it should be arriving to my house today. Today, they told me it hadn't been sent yet! Then, I talked to a supervisor that said it was sent but that they wouldn't have a tracking number until 7 p.m., Saturday. What the heck?! Don't you get a tracking number as soon as UPS is notified? Anyway, I started my repair order Tuesday, Sept. 18. Looks like Halo 3 will be coming out even before I get my coffin. Ridiculous.

Well it finally happened to me, just turned it on today and got one red light in the lower right hand corner and a E 74 code. Googled it before I called tech support, hardware failere, tried unplugging, disconnecting hdd, but all in all nothing worked and I called tech support and the coffin will be coming in the mail in "3 to 5" days. Damn I just bought the 120 gig hdd because it was 140 bucks on amazon and I just bought Puzzle Fighter HD, beat every mode on normal and was ready for hard. I know I keep my hdd but I skinned my 360 and hear that I will probably not get the same console back. I guess that's 20 bucks down the drain. Guess I'm getting back into DS gaming and clearing off the dust off my xbox.

Ok, I'm really confused

my status now shows that the device was shipped to customer, but that it was shipped to Mexico? according to the UPS tracking number

claims the

Carrier Name: UPSN

Never heard of UPSN before

Everyone gets UPS 3-Day Shipping.

About having to pick it up at night, it's because anything before 6:30, and your package is still on the truck. DHL only delivers until 4, while UPS delivers until roughly 6:30. Generally if they miss you during the day, you can pick it up same-day after 6:30.

I swear MS is getting on my last nerve..

I called to find out what was up, and dude was like your tracking number is 18 digits not 25, it's not valid.. Im like I just pulled it up, and it was sent from Mexico to Mexico..

then after 20 mins going back and forth and being on hold, he claims that its still at the service center..

i swear they feed you a bunch of BS everytime..

UPS. They just got consonant happy.

I'd like to know how accurate is automated-call dude. I just called to check on my console (since as I said, the S/N changed and it disappeared all on Thursday), and autodude said it had shipped.

Ok where to begin?? ¿MEXICO?

Ok now today I decided to check my xbox like anyother day and it finally tells me they have finished and have it shipped out already, but its coming from Mexico?

Device: Xbox360 Hardware

If that isn't disheartning enough this is what I see when I am tracking it.

YAY! a mechanical failure and delay of shipping. I guess it isn't to weird to see Microsoft ship it accross the boarder and have it fixed, but WTF is with my luck and having this happen. I just hope it comes back all in one piece and working fully.

My first 360 is dying via RROD, but it's awfully spotty about it and I'm hoping to ride it through the Halo 3 campaign. I'm hoping that maybe I can order my coffin now, and when I'm "finished" with Halo 3 send it back then. My question is, do the coffins "expire" at all? If one has been sent to you, do you only have a limited amount of time to send the system in?

Microsoft has had my POS for almost 2 weeks now. I sent it on the 7th and the guy said that it's still there. What the hell, just send me another one so it can break. Good thing my brother left his 360 here, for Halo 3age. Too bad it'll probably die right before I play it.

When I called in, they said to ignore that, that my console wasn't really in mexico, but still at the service center in Texas.. I'd imagine yours is th esame

You may want to check this but I think they cancel your service request within 30 days if you don't ship it to the repair center.

They told me I had only 30 days or else they will cancel the repair.

Didn't wombat speculate in a past CAGcast that when your xbox goes to mcallen texas, they truck em over to mexico and use the cheap labor over there to fix em?

Great.. mine says "no registered devices" under the support page as well now. It read "received at repair center" as of Friday morning.

Hopefully, this means a new Xbox will be on it's way this week with a new serial #.

fuck. I went to turn on my 360 this AM and it gave me the RROD. Right when Halo 3's about to come out. WTF?

I'm looking for the silver lining here--anybody get theirs back replaced with a unit that has HDMI? That's about the only thing that would make up missing a month of Halo 3 while everybody else is playing it.

I'm having a controller issue here. To turn on the system now I have to get really close to the 360 with the controller and hit the button (on the controller) or turn the system on manually.

And while playing, even when I'm actively moving the analog stick and pressing buttons, it's acting like it's waiting to sync up, although it still works. Bad controller? Or bad IR interface? AND THIS is an HDMI system. I'm going with a controller problem since it's from my older system.

since according to the UPS page they've received my console, the support page no longer has any registered devices...

I called up customer support to check on it and received 3 or 4 different responses, all claiming things from "we've received it at the repair center and it'll be another 2 weeks" to "we sent you a box on 9/X and you need to send us the console" and my favorite "you should be able to check the status no problem on the support page, if it still doesn't show up tomorrow call back" (got that last one two days in a row).

I really wish I knew what was going on with mine. The automated line says that it has been shipped, but I'd really like some live human confirmation. My 360 disappeared off the service page on Thursday and hasn't returned. How do you reach a live human?

And, will I have to re-register my device on xbox.com when I get it back? What if someone has already registered that S/N (like my used HD DVD)?

Got the call about an hour ago, I can't wait for tomorrow.

Timeline:
Requested coffin - 8/29?
Arrived at repair center - 9/7
Email notice - 9/16
Call - 9/24

this is really pissing me off, they keep saying it shouldn't take this long, call back tomorrow..

and the fucking service site is a POS

still says my console is out of warranty (it's not till July 08)

and says it was shipped, but it's in Mexico
