Yeah, saw that. I'm hoping it's a mini calendar for my desk at work.

I bought the guide for the first one and it was helpful. Overall, it was a good guide (I got the LE) with lots of fan stuff like artwork and interviews. Oh, and it was a well written and illustrated guide, too. Great maps.

It's not just a shooter. It's Gears of War. And if you are buying Gears of War for the campaign, something is seriously wrong with you. Gears of War shines in Multiplayer.

Multiplayer map diagrams as well as weapon placements, hidden collectibles in game, weapon strategies and so on.

I know I wouldn't buy it, although that calendar does sound sweet, but I know why people would.

Same here, played through it 5 times in total. And it's the only game I've played on the higher difficulties, having beat it twice in co-op on hardcore with different friends and once on Insane.

I don't even want to think about how ugly the gold lancer is going to be.

Kind of surprised that the review didn't mention more specifics about the multiplayer. Aside from discussing host advantage, he didn't talk about the new chainsaw, snipes, or any of the new weapons. He didn't mention which maps he thought were winners or anything of that nature.

Edit: After thinking about it, I bet the reviewer didn't play more than 5 or 6 matches. He spends way too much time talking about "bugs" rather than real problems. Also the thing about him not being able to find matches isn't really worth mentioning since he was playing with a very small audience that currently have the game. The only people with the game are pirates, reviewers, and those who got extremely lucky. Of course when you are playing with such a small audience you are going to get stuck playing with foreigners.

He also never mentioned the changes to the new maps and that really pisses me off.
 
I want them but I don't know if I'll be using them...I think it will be a big "hey look! I'm over here!" type thing...even behind cover you'll be able to see shimmering gold weapons sticking out....they should have gone with an alternate color, or a camo option instead of the gold.

I bought GoW1 for split-screen campaign mode. I'm pretty fucked up.
 
Man after seeing the review and seeing more in game stuff I can't fraking wait! Hopefully since I'm getting this at launch I can hop aboard the CAG band wagon like I did with CoD4.

That is weird, because it is shimmering in-game in the video IGN review.
 
I just watched that IGN video. There is no shimmering, that's just the gun lighting up from the gunfire. Even regular guns do that.
 
I'm not a 100 percent sure, but I think I read somewhere that the golden weapons would be attainable through in game accomplishment as well, not just the codes.

I need to find out more info about it. Like what "swag" is gonna be there, how early you need to get there, etc. Also, the Best Buy pre-order bonuses are only for the limited edition right?
