Official Gears of War 2 Discussion Thread

I'm down for some boosting. If you see me online playing something else just send a message during the 20x XP event.

I'd definitely be down for one of those boosting KOTH sessions as I think I'm in the low 30's rank. I also have a number of the All Fronts Horde achievements to complete.

When i needed this, i just went into horde on easy by myself, all fathers garden. Go to the flame thrower and wait, and i was able to burn 1-2 before i died. Sometimes i had to run/jump over the wall to get away, but i managed. It helps if you lancer the guy riding them first, then burn the bloodmount.
 
You can get this achievement easy solo on the Day One map (it's been a while, forgive me if I got the name wrong) just start the game on casual, on a wave where the flamers come, duck behind the wall up near the arcade and toast them. One after another they should come to you. Just make sure you have plenty of fuel. You only need to roast the bloodmounts not the guys who ride them. Shoot them and blindfire the bloodmounts with the flamethrower. Or you can do it the old fashioned way. Either way.

But it has to be done on one of the dark corners maps.

Ah, you're right. I forgot since it's been so long. I think I did this one with a friend. Just go near any stairs, put up a shield and wait for them to come to you. Again, you can put it on casual, the game still recognizes a kill. No need to bust your own balls just to get this achievement. Get your kills and move on.
 
So, who all is good for 7 P.M. Pacific/10 Eastern or thereabouts? If all goes well, I will be playing a CAGFC fight, but that will take maybe 10 minutes, if that. Then I'm good to go all night long for some boostage! Whoever can play starting between 7-7:15 Pacific, let me know. If we can get a full room, that would be fantastic.
 
I'd stake my life on making it to one of these boosting sessions either tonight or tomorrow because I won't have the time this weekend. Don't be surprised if I mysteriously show up. The only thing stopping me from taking a claw hammer to this game is a lack of wings. Sad but I've stuck with it this long and I intend to finish what I start.

Dittttoooo... I want to throw this game in a wood chipper so badly. Please have mercy on a fellow CAG and help me earn my wings so that I may inflict various atrocities to my disc. ^_^
 
Logging on right now, send me a FR if you want to KOTH boost. Otherwise, I'll be joining Social KOTH matches until I can find one.

Currently level 71. My personal goal today is to get to at least 85.

Just found a game with bs000 and it was only 6x.
 
I hope they get this 6x glitch situated. I haven't run into a game yet that wasn't 20x but if/when I start you can be damn sure I'll stop playing. Then again I only play Ranked because the few times I did try Social the exp gain wasn't worth the trouble.

Does the 20x only apply to Ranked? I've been doing Social KOTH.

I got 20x points in social KOTH (granted it was well fighting since I can't find boosting session). I also got 20x in custom horde.

Weird, the game I just finished I went from 72-76 and the previous game I went from 71-72. Guess it updated for me.

That's awesome, I'll have to start with horde tonight. Just hate that if the host leaves it ends the match.
 
Looks like I'll also need some misc. achievements with Horde mode, here are the achievements I need:

Trial by, and on, Fire: 1-10 on all Combustible.
Never Eat Red Snow: 1-10 on all Snowblind.
Icy Dead People: 1-50 on any Snowblind.
Am I Only Dreaming?: Level 40 and 1-40 on Memorial.
Is It Hot or Is That Just You?: 25 Bloodmounts w/ Scorcher.

Had beef with a player on the opposite side of the team and they both kept killing each other. He was host and quit out on the third round, wasting all our time.
 
Good God I haven't played this game in a while but damn the 2 matches I've played so far every death was by a 1-shot shotgun kill. I forgot how much that pisses me off.
