Wait until he forgets to take his meds. He's a decent player, but he's goofy as all fuck.
He is better than what we had. And Mike Gonzalez has arm trouble. Crazy 1B > Dead Arm Closer

3 Closers > 1 Goofy ADHD 1B. ;)

I liked LaRoche, but he clearly has no ambition to live up to his potential. I know John had Gonzales take a physical and if there were any questions, he would have nixed it.

Let me put it this way: Smoltz, Francouer and LaRoche played Tiger Woods the other day. They were late teeing off because Adam left his clubs in Chipper's car.

Well, I hope we see a demo this week now....we'll see. Maybe I can use my $10 Best Buy coupon now that expires on the 28th...great news!

so since alot of people got screwed from TRU's price msitake, what deals are u getting for this game? anyone pre order it? i guess i'll use the $10 off BB coupon if thegame is released on time or FRY's usually hs some lower prices on the week of its releases
Pirates suck. I cant wait until the Yankees get Jason Bay in a few years.
Good Joke....Stupid Yankees. I bet you wish you had Carl Crawford and Scot kazmir too...Anyway i hope it comes out early.....Three games in two weeks

I just want to know how david eckstein is not a top 15 shortstop. He was the World Series MVP and each year he's an All-Star candidate. I have a bad feeling that the ratings will be horrible in this game like they were last yr. The game last yr had Cliff Floyd as one of the best players in the game and rookies like Liriano were awful.

i got mlb2k6 on the cheap finally and played it..i really hope they improved on the gameplay for 2k7. i only played a few games online, but the controls were kind of hard to pick up at first and the animations were bad. maybe because i'm used to the mvp series but that gameplay was so much smoother and less complicated. the 2k7 graphics look great, but i still havent seen an espn mlb 2k gameplay get up to the mvp series level yet. hopefullyl 2k7 doesnt disappoint.

oh yea, this week of new games is great, but crackdown, mlb2k7, and nba street all released within the same week..like others i'll probably go broke lol. it looks like Gears of War and R6 Vegas will be collecting dust for awhile lol. so many games, so little time for all of them

rookies are always awful...there have been rookies that were expected to dominate become busts/rookies no one heard of dominate ...it is tough to give a rookie with no to little mlb expericance a decent rating...going into last season the young gun that was sure to be dominant was the guy from seattle and he was no where near as good as he was billed..i don't even remeber hearing lirano's name untill well after the season started...he started in the bullpen, and was there for over a month... his previous years very limited exposure was 1 - 2 with an high 5.74 era or so...no one was expecting him to dominate last year...the game companies have always been horrible with rookie rating...paplebon sucked last year as well

also in regards to floyd, usually the ratings are based off of the previous years performance...and his numbers in 05 were pretty good 34 homers and 98 rbi with a .273 batting avg

^^ Yup. I don't really recall for the MLB series but the NBA series has done a good job of tweaking player ratings will the roster downlaods.

i have never really noticed much improvements to the players skills...iirc last year pablebon was a horrible closer, his slider in the game was flat and his fastball was several mph slower then in real life....they also didn't update the redsox roster often enough...didn't have the option to use delcarmen or hanson at all iirc, if they did it was very limited time
Wow, this game looks sweet
Hopefully it PLAYS sweet too ;)

Graphics are not everythign with baseball games....come on gameplay, I hope they nail it because I really want to like this game.

Liriano has been a top prospect for a while, and he was rated like a 50 something in the game and never got better. Also, there is no way Cliff Floyd should be rated higher than Scott Rolen like he was last yr. This is not even me being a Cardinals homer, in no way should Mark Mulder had been a 94 like he was in the game last yr. I'm just saying whoever does the ratings for this game must be high on something other than life.

You gotta consider progression though for franchise mode. Sure they suck at the beginning but they could be around the 80-90 range in a couple of months. If I remember correctly, last year's game didnt have any progression at all so I'm hoping they fixed it for 2K7.

lirano was 1 - 2 with a 5.7 something era the year before, he started out in limited appearance in the bullpen for well over a month...i follow baseball fairly closely...occasionally watch espn...read the boston globe and herald baseball sections, and several times a day check espn's website...I don't remembering hearing his name untill around june of last year...he might have been a high prospect, but the national coverage on him was slim considering other young pitchers...he had pitched in the bullpen untill may 19th last year...he was in mostly blowouts untill 4/25 last year...

floyd in 05 hit 34 homers, 98rbis and hit roughly .273...

also the 2005 stats on mulder was 16 - 8 with a 3.64 era...that is solid numbers...

scott rolen in 2005 had a very very off year...only 56 games a .235 batting avg 5 homers, 25 rbis

yes i know it sucks..the year before youkillis sucked on the sox, and last year pablebon sucked and made it impossible for him to be the closer in online games..

.but unless they do monthly updates, it has been the same for every baseball game for a long time....they go off of the year before stats and don't really change it much...
I ditched my old Xbox to get a 360 and now I can't play MVP 2005 anymore.

Hopefully, 2K7 delivers the goods. :)
yeah same here, but my xbox broke, so no mvp 2005 at all, unless they make it backwards compatible. but thats very unlikely
So for Barry Bonds are they going to use John Dowd again? like in MVP?
Yep, since he's not in the player union they cannot use his likeness in the game.

Same thing goes for guys like Kevin Millar, Brendan Donnelly, Damian Miller, Lou Merloni, etc.

I still feel that mvp's ratings were a lot better. Also, at the time the Rookies like Young, Upton, Anthony Reyes etc were atleast in the high 60s or low 70s and became great players. Yes I know they had different names but everyone knew who they were. And yes mulder put up good stats in 05 but those were decieving. He only had good games against weak teams and he was horrible in day games or against decent competition. Rotoworld backs up that statement as well. I just feel like I might be worried about this game since even if you go by stats no way is Julio Lugo or Felipe Lopez better than Eckstein.

i like eckstein, and it wasn't good to see him leave the boston organization via someone picking him up for nothing...but lets be honest most mlb clubs don't look at him all that high...the angels took orlando cabrea over him...he is small and has zero power in a position where many top ss have some pop in the bat...he has above avg speed, but he isn't going to be stealing 75 bases a season, (like players did in the late 80's, ricky henderson wasn't the only one) He only has 100 sb in roughly 6 full seasons...he has only scored 100 runs 1 x in his career and it wasn't like the angels or cardinals don't score much and his obp % isn't great for a leadoff guy...most teams want someone around .400% obp he is avg .350. He is a great guy to have on a team, but very few major league clubs wanted to open the checkbook for him when he was a free agent a couple years ago...edgar renteria got the most, the cabrea and then a distant third salarywise was eckstein. I am not saying he isn't a good player, but it appears that most mlb clubs aren't interested in him

compared to lugo there stats are very similiar...avg has a very small edge to eckstein...but homers, rbi's and sbs go to lugo...also add in lugo played on shitty offensive teams in the same time period that eckstein played on clubs that had pujols and vlad guerro batting behind him...I personally would take eckstein over lugo, but lets not get going crazy as the numbers imo slightly favor lugo
When is this demo supposed to come out? The game comes out in 5 days, right?
Since they pushed up the release date, there probably isnt going to be a demo.
So for Barry Bonds are they going to use John Dowd again? like in MVP?
His name will probably be Eric Young, like the last couple of MLB 2K games.
Since they pushed up the release date, there probably isnt going to be a demo.
...Before launch. I still see them releasing a demo at some point. I think almost all the 2K sports games have had a demo.

I'm hoping we get one before launch.

My cousin's name is Joe Young, LOL.

And if there's no demo, that means the game will suck just like last year. Dammit... I want a good 360 baseball game.

I'll call my EB Tuesday to see if they get it in. If so then I'll buy it. The reviews I've read said only problem is that the pitchers get tired quickly, and that the front end GUI hasn't been changed at all. Other then that its supposed to be an awesome game.
Thinking about it, man this game released pretty quickly this year. Hopefully it won't come back to bite 2K in the a$$.
They can do roster updates, and patches of course. Also they're the only baseball game on the 360 as far as I know plus it has good reviews. Should be hopefully a good game.

hopefully this game has less bugs than last years. Remember how you couldn't play a game without it freezing unless you removed the HDD, so thus you couldn't save, unless you bought a memory card. It took them about 2 months it seemed like to release a patch to fix that.
Wolfmother's "woman" doesn't belong in a baseball game.
It seems like this song is in every video game now. I think it was in Madden and I know it was in Guitar Hero II. Some of the stuff on there is good, but does anyone know if you can do custom soundtracks for this game or not? I thought that was one of the big selling points for using a hard drive with games.

What scares me about the reviews are that

Game Informer gave Major League Baseball 2k6 on the XBOX (not 360) an 85 according to metacritic, which would be a similar score to what they gave 2k7.

85
Game Informer
Outside of this, through its array of innovations, Major League Baseball 2K6 blows the doors off of what you could expect from a baseball game. [Apr 2006, p.116]

Though most other reviews were far lower.

it seems like they fixed some glitches, but its similar gameplay to mlb2k6. difference is the unique player features and graphics. i'm not really a fan of the mlb2k series pitching system, wish it was more like mvp
custom soundtrack is a given on any 360 game.
nope. id like you to meet smackdown, the game that could have made the best use of custom soundtracks :(

Im glad to hear it though, as im not a big rock fan, though i might like some of the songs. I should get the MVP soundtrack....

READY?! 1 2 3 GO!
